stuck on a ride?

Oh, and there are a few places I'd love to break down!
1) On Splash Mountain's open air section while Wishes is going off.
2) On the People-Mover, inside Space Mountain.
3) On the Safari.... anywhere, really, but in front of the lions would be great.
4) On the monorail to the airport terminal..... who doesn't secretly fantasize about missing their flight home and being forced to back to Disney? :goodvibes

Actually, we were stuck on People Mover in Space Mountain (plus a couple of other places) the last time we went to Disney. We were there about 15 minutes dressed in full Halloween costumes for MNSSHP. It was great! I highly recommend it! :thumbsup2

Not us...I've only memorably been stuck on It's a Small World for what felt like 1/2 a day....but a couple of years ago we watched as the Paradise Pier Roller Coaster at DL California Adventure broke down. People were stuck at the top of the coaster for about 20 minutes, then had to get out and walk down. Kind of made me think twice for awhile about getting on that coaster again. :scared1:

This past March we got stuck on the TTA for 30-40 minutes. It was right before the entrance to Space Mountain.

That same trip we also got stuck in the pre-show room for Test Track. We were in there for about 30 minutes. The lights were dimmed but the video wasn't playing. At one point the doors to let people in opened and the next group of people came in the room while we were still in there. It was extremely crowded and when the doors finally opened to let us out people were pushing and shoving to get through the doors. That was one of the few times I've experienced extremely rude & pushy people in WDW. There was one guy who was literally shoving people out of his way so he could get through. He almost knocked my friend over, but I caught her before she hit the ground. I was afraid she would have been trampled had she been knocked to the ground! :sad2:

Also, we were stuck on Rock n' Roller Coaster for only about 10 min., but it was funny because everyone starting taking pics and the CM came on the mic and said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, there is no picture taking on this ride." Everyone started yelling, "Then let us off!!"

Interesting - I was wondering if this ride ever got stuck.

A couple days later we got 'stuck' on the Jungle Cruise in MK. I wouldn't have thought it was a likely candidate for a delay, but apparently something happened on one of the cruise boats ahead of us and we had to stop. Our captain CM was really funny, cracking jokes for the entire 15 minutes we were delayed to keep everybody entertained.

I LOVE that ride. I think that'd be a fun one to get stuck on - as long as you had a good skipper!

That's my fear about EE. I would hate to get stuck on the initial incline. I've read stories of people having to walk out, and the likelihood of falling down into that ravine once you come out from that shrine. :scared1:

You know, my son just reminded me of a rather unpleasant aspect of that delay. The CM did not turn off the engine, and with us just floating in place with the engine running the smell of diesel exhaust got pretty obnoxious. As I mentioned before, the CM was otherwise really good about it, cracking jokes for the duration of the delay. But my son and an older couple we didn't know seemed especially bothered by the diesel exhaust. The woman asked the CM to please turn off the engine if we were just going to sit there and the CM said she couldn't. I had forgotten about all that until my son reminded me.

I got stuck on haunted mansion for about ten minutes at the very end where the lady keeps telling you hurry back , hurry back.....Dont forget to bring your death certificate if you would like to join us.....:sad2:

Definitely a downfall - hadn't thought of that. Wonder why they can't turn them off.

I do think the worst thing would be to get stuck on RnR when you're in an inversion...

The only ride I've ver been stuck on was the Winnie the Pooh ride at Disneyland, and that was for about 10-15 minutes before a CM came in to let us out and walk us back to the entrance. We weren't too far into the ride, so it wasn't roo bad. As we came out from the entrance next to the queue, I informed the people waiting in line that I had counted only 73 acres inside...

My most memorable stop on a ride was on Dinasaur at Ak. Not sure what went wrong, but the ride stopped and after sitting in the dark for a while, they eventually turned on the lights for about 15 minutes. This really ruined things for us. Imagine seeing the inside of the Dinasaur ride with the lights on- pretty much a large, warehouse type of building with fake plants and trees everywhere- with a dinasuar or 2 thrown in. The ride did eventually start back up and we got to finish the ride, but it will never look the same to me agian!

Short of experiencing it myself, is there any way to see what this looks like?

Stuck in Haunted Mansion this past trip. Literally 10' from the exit area. My DS and Niece were right behind us (both 14) and they started to freak a bit as it felt like forever (probably a good ten minutes) and we started singing just to keep them "occupied" and focused on us rather than the delay. Personally, it would have bothered me much more except that I could SEE the exit just ahead, it was nuts. I CRINGE to think of the people mid way thru the ride in the dark, YUCK! :scared1:

absolute worst part of our last trip, stuck on RnR twice! First time just after loading, the thing is your in that harness and after several minutes that started to get the claustrophobia working overtime, then when the ride finally got going, we got stuck again towards the end. Each time for 15 to 20 minutes, was a complete nightmare for me! I dont know if I will ever go near the ride again after that.

We got walked off test track, just as we were coming up to the end of the ride. We were there for about 15 minutes before a CM came and got us out, only problem was it was hot sitting out there in the direct sun, still strapped in.

We walked back through the loading area which was strange seeing it totally empty, and got a free fastpass to return so it wasn't too bad.

We were stuck about 30 minutes on POTC. Right at the top of the drop, in complete darkness. It was scary until they turned on the lights and you could see it isn't much of a drop but we were hanging over the edge.

Haunted Mansion for about 10 minutes in the graveyard scene - we had fun with it though, pretending to be scared everytime one of the ghosts popped up.

Pirates for 5 to 10 minutes stuck at the ship scene, again we just had fun with it and sung along to the music.

I can't remember any others off the top of my head. We've never really minded though, we just try to have fun with the situation.

I have been stopped a few times, but not for too long.

The worst was back in 1998. THere were terrible sun spots causing electrical problems. DH and I were on the monorail stuck between TTC and Epcot for over an hour. It was so hot and sweaty and stinky. AND we missed our reservations we had with friends. At that exact same time my parents got stuck for the same amount of time in Spaceship Earth during the really steep decent back down.
