stuck on a ride?

I have been stopped a few times, but not for too long.

The worst was back in 1998. THere were terrible sun spots causing electrical problems. DH and I were on the monorail stuck between TTC and Epcot for over an hour. It was so hot and sweaty and stinky. AND we missed our reservations we had with friends. At that exact same time my parents got stuck for the same amount of time in Spaceship Earth during the really steep decent back down.

Ohh that reminds me, I didn't think of it as a ride but last year we were stuck on the monorail (in between MK and the Contemporary) for about 45 minutes. It was awful, luckily we weren't late for any dinner plans or anything but still it was really bad.

I think that getting stuck on the Rock N Roll Roller coaster takes the prize for most unnerving. This typically happens at the end of the ride, when you are rolling towards the unloading zone. The problem is that it stops almost every time (for a few seconds) before moving ahead. Every time I start to think that it's going to get stuck. The fact that you are locked-in so tight in those
shoulder harnesses really makes it tough. I even try to give myself some wiggle room when loading. But once the ride gets going, you get locked in tight just because of the g-forces. I watched a youtube video of some teenagers who were stuck (was about a 18-minute time-lapse). They were joking at first, but were terrified after about 10 minutes. Nothing like being trapped and unable to move.

We've been stuck on Test Track, which isn't as bad as the RR, but you still can't get up. The seatbelts lock, so you can't go anywhere. And sure, we've been in one of the "chambers" each time (heat, cold, and corrosion). You'll probably get stuck once in every 5 rides on this thing.

I get stuck on Haunted Mansion every single time.

I'm starting to think they do it on purpose! It's all good fun, though.

(I do get scared...been known to scream). *giggles*

On our honeymoon in July of 99 we got stuck at the very top of Splash Mountain..all I remember is hearing Everyone Has A Laughing Place over and over and over again...then after about 20 min they announced that the "fire had been extinguised and all was okay". Could have been a CM idea of a joke but DH and I just looked at each other as if to say "wow...would've been nice to know before".....HOWEVER I DO NOT CONSIDER THAT A REASON TO STAY AWAY FROM THE MOST MAGICAL PLACE ON EARTH!!!!

I got stuck on Pirates for about 45 minutes and we had to boat hop all the way to where we had to load. We were right at the stop where it was going to drop. Once on Spalsh Mountain for about an 30 minutes becuase some guy jumped off the ride. The people mover for about 20 minutes right at the end i was about to jump out but it started to move. The great movie ride. the only time we ever got anything was for Pirates i guess becuase we had to physically jump from boat to boat to get out. I think that would be really scary to get stuck on tower of terror. What part was it????

Twice on ToT. First time was in total darkness in the "elevator shaft" for about 10 min but the coolest was in Sept when we were stuck on the 3rd floor (the one where the car moves out to the drop shaft). We were stuck for about 20 min and they turned the lights on while they were getting it fixed. All that wanted to were escorted back to the ride thru a private hallway and we got another ride. Very cool.:cool1:

Out of curiousity, was that in April or May of 2007?

My husband got stuck on EE going up the incline. He was up there for about 20 minutes before they came to escort him down.

I have been on RR with the house lights on....kinda ruins it.

Been stuck on Spaceship Earth and Haunted Mansion for a few minutes.

OOH...forgot to ad the Backlot tour when it was MGM. There was something blocked the road when you go to the mountain with the semi and we sat there waiting to move for 20 minutes....ended up backing up and going thru a cast member parking lot and being returned to the station.

First time was about 4 yrs ago. Last time was in Sept '08. Assuming you were stuck in '07?

My dad was stuck in '07. I'm afraid to ride the ToT, the weenie i am. :)

But he called me on his cell phone and it was quite hilarious. Mom and I were shopping and it went kinda like this....

Me: *picks up phone* Hellllooo?
Dad: Hi Brie, it's Dad! Guess what?
Me: Um what?
Dad: I'm stuck on the ToT!
Me: *hysterically laughing* You are kidding me!
Dad: Yeahhh I'm not.

After the hype, he informed us that they let them all ride again.

He might have been mad that I was laughing, but I thought that was too good!

In June my DDs and I were stuck in C.O.P. for about 15 minutes. We certainly know that song by now. It's less annoying than "It's a Small World" though.

Once on Spaceship Earth back in the 90's somewhere. I think I was maybe 9-10 years old? Anyway the tram stopped right in the middle of the ride, and we just had to sit there for like 5 min. before an announcement came over the system. Everyone had to get off and walk down the side aisle/steps towards the end.

The cool thing was that noone got scared. Everyone was really polite and helpful and we all made it out ok.

Been there too! Sat thru the same scene about 5 times before everyone just got up and left thru the emergency exit. "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow......" Sorry, it just jumped in my head!

I've been stuck on Haunted Mansion too (going backwards and downhill, which was not all that comfortable). Because it's a continuous-loader, I think it stops frequently to allow someone to get in/ out of a wheelchair or scooter, which takes more time than the usual hop and jump for the average person.

Forgot TTA! (My family and I still call it the WedWay). We were listening to one certain part of the narrator's talking...over...and over...and over...again.

Ooh we got stuck on the Monorail once! Not fun. Actually it kinda was because it was the night of Mickey's Halloween party and we were all in costume with these rich people from the GF looking at us all weird. :rotfl: My mom started a laughing attack and my dad was imitating a pirate.

It got a little loopy.

This past trip my kids and I got stuck on Buzz for about 5 minutes. It was ind of fun I was the one who moved the car and they were shooting so I just kept spinning them. then on the same trip we got stuck on Splash Mountain on the incline before you take the final drop. We were there for about 10 minutes.

I was stuck on the Haunted Mansion just after you out the attic window and going down backwards for about 20 minutes one time. Very relaxing. Almost took a nap. It was nice and cool in there. I love the Grim Grinning Ghosts song, so that was no problem.
The worst place to get stuck is on it's a small world in the tunnel right before the docks. Spent about 30 minutes in there one time. Its extra loud because the speakers are in your ears and the worst bit is YOU CAN SEE THE (*@#&(@# DOCK! Don't get me wrong, I like the ride and all, but that song starts to wear just a teeny bit after a while.

I've been stuck on QUITE a few rides.

One trip...
HM in a very dark area between rooms.

ToT for about 15 minutes RIGHT IN THE ELEVATOR SHAFT. Talk about really building up the anxiety over the drop!

BTMR for about 10 minutes.

EE right before you go backwards for about 2 minutes.

Our last trip...
EE right before the cave with the Yeti. When we started going again he wasn't working until the very second before we went under him. It was our last ride of the trip so it was a little ruined for me.

Dinosaur right NEXT to the big guy where they take your pic and then they made us ride AGAIN.

Space for about 15 minutes right before "Take-off." It made me VERY anxious because we had won an hour in the park after closing and all I could think about was how much of our hour was being wasted.

Me, my father and two sisters got stuck on peter pan for 75 minutes. Right about 25 feet from the end of the ride. We listened to Cpt. Hook scream "help me Mr. Sneed, Help me!! and Mr Sneed replying "Coming Boss" for over an hour. Even worse was my older sister (a Peter Pan freak) whine that if we had got stuck just a little further back we could have been in front of the ship with Wendy and her brothers and Peter Pan the whole time. (It didn't help her mood to point out that if we "got stuck" just a little further ahead, we WOULDN'T be stuck, we'd be done with the ride!)

That was when you used tickets so everyone got a book of tickets for the delay. Still, everytime my kids ask to go on that ride, I cringe!:scared1:

We got stuck on Buzz during the 12/7 MVMCP for 15+ minutes. The CM thought we were with the GAC people ahead of us and sent us to the exit to get on, so we got stuck before even getting on the ride. Someone about 8 cars back had puked so they had to clean it, and then while they were cleaning it, someone on the actual ride got out of their car so we had to wait even longer. They gave fast passes to everyone who had been waiting in line who hadn't even gotten on the ride, but the people who were stuck got nothing
