We head to the World mid-late June. Of course we're all very very excited! I have everything planned and am pretty happy with what we've scheduled. We have BoG lunch, FP's in all parks, ADR's, and some rest and pool/resort time. I have been updating my DD's (18,16,15) on the A&E situation. They LOVE the move and are thrilled we landed a FP to meet them. But they are saddened to see the crush of people running down Main Street and the massively long line that quickly forms. So, we decided to look at our plans and how we could possibly help someone. On our last day there, tradition is to grab a cinnamon roll in MK, maybe grab 1 or 2 rides, and then head out and make the trek back home (We drive). I looked at our last day, and I was able to get FP's for all 5 of us for A&E! The plan, as per my girls, is to make some other family (Or possibly families) day and offer them a chance to get out of the horrendous line and use our FP's. I sort of preach to my kids that's Disney will be busy and it's early bird gets the worm, and survival of the fittest. But I also want them to take it slow and enjoy all different things.. and they do. I'm really proud of them that they want to do something nice for someone else and maybe create their own little bit of magic :)

You would have to let them borrow your magic bands. Nice thought, but I think it would be better just to switch fp options so that you aren't taking up fp you won't use. Since your magic bands are also connected to your credit card, I wouldn't give them away.

Bands wont have credit cards, and we would offer to swap - we'll hold their bands and meet them at the end. I certainly wouldn't take FP's and not use. If I really think it won't work, I'll switch to a ride that we'll just do instead

Maybe I'm too cynical, but I wouldn't trust a stranger who came up to me offering to switch bands. Not when my entire trip is attached to the band. Was easier to spread pixie dust with the paper ones.

We shared paper ones every single trip, maybe that's why DD's are trying so hard. I get it, I'd be skeptical too. Only other possibility is going through the line with a family (one of us, 4 of them). We have time, if we decide it just won't work, then we'll switch to something else. But my kids hearts are in the right place, it just may not be easy I guess

If you don't cancel and don't give away your MagicBands, you technically allowed 5 people in the standby line to enter a little earlier. In essence, you shortened the Standby line by 5 people.

Agreed. It's a nice thought, but Disney has made this kind of activity, nice as it is, too difficult to be worth it.

It is a very nice thought but remember even though your bands won't have cc info attached, it is very likely the people you offer to swap with will. Speaking for myself, I would not be willing to do that if approached.

I bet they would also make someone's day by cancelling the FP and giving someone a surprise who is checking the website for that day.

Good luck.

Personally, I would let the FP+s go now. People are desperate for them thanks to the new advanced booking system. It would make someone's day to snag them today or tomorrow. The more we can counteract the crazy feeding frenzy Disney has created, the better, in my opinion.

Agreed. Heck, sometimes when we'd try to give away unused paper FP on our way out of the park people would seem suspicious. :scratchin

I agree with this.

It's a nice thought, but the other problem would be memory maker. The photo pass cast members scan your bands after your meet and greet with all the pictures that were taken. Now you would have their pictures and they wouldn't have access to them. I'm afraid that fast pass pixie dust is a thing of the past.

Maybe think of something else they can do to help spread the magic. For instance at a buffet there was a small child who couldn't reach the bacon, everyone just kept reaching over her... my husband jumped up and offered to put bacon on her plate and she walked away the happiest little girl... another thought is if you see a family taking a picture and for instance the dad is taking the picture, offer to take the picture for him so he can be included in their memories.

Could you see when you get there if a CM could take your Fp and transfer them to the other peoples?

What the OP can do is post that she is planning to cancel 5 Fp+ for A&E for day/time and try to coordinate with another DISer who wants the Fp+ for that day/time. DISers do this with ADRs on the Restaurant Board all the time.

I'm sure your girls' hearts are in the right place, but I guess I don't understand reserving such a high demand event just to give it away.
If something comes up and you can't find a family to give them to, or you can't get to the park, you have just denied 5 kids the chance to see A&E.

I think it makes much more sense to just release the FP+ now so someone else will have a chance to use them.

Of course, the family who gets them wouldn't know it was you who had released them, so you'd have to forego the glory of bestowing them on someone personally, but hopefully feel good knowing that you're giving someone else the opportunity to meet A&E.

I think your heart is in the right place. We are a family of 5 going mid June, and I feel we have slim to none chance scoring fp for A&E .My 3 yo dd wishes on dandelions daily to make Elsa appear ( she has no idea she is at Disney world and it will stay that way till I know she can actually meet her without a 5 hour wait), please consider picking another fp so a family like us can have a shot at it !!
