Still waiting on my waitlist to come through, but looking at having a split stay for my fall-getaway.

If I fly down and use DME to get from the airport to the resort, how do I get my luggage from one resort to the next on a split stay? Do I need to call a cab that morning, or can I just call Bell Services, or is there some other option?

Realistically, looking like I'll be traveling solo, and will have 1 checked bag of clothes, my laptop bag, and my Owners Locker, so don't think I could easily get it all on a bus.

Bell Services will move your luggage and any groceries you have between resorts. You can either call and have a porter come to your room to collect your items (must be present, gratuity expected) or drop off you stuff at the bell stand. They only move items once per day around 2 pm, so your stuff will not be available at the next resort until around 4 pm. Once your items are available at the next resort, you can have a porter deliver them (must be present, gratuity expected) or you can pick them up from the bell stand.

Luggage is not permitted on Disney Transportation (except for DME & DCL).

It might be easier to call a cab and move everything yourself if you're heading to the resort anyways. I personally would not have them move my laptop or expensive electronics. I'm ok leaving it with Bell Services, but you never know if they will just toss your luggage when moving it from resort to resort.

This works well then. I can drop it off on the way out that morning, and have it delivered whenever I get to my new room that evening.

I didn't think luggage was permitted. Just wasn't 100% sure. Just cause I think something doesn't make it so. ;-)

I wasn't really planning to go over there straight away, unless I needed to for some unforseen reason. But with online check-in and direct to room and linked reservations, I was hoping I could leave the transport to someone else. I'm not entirely certain I'll take my laptop, but if I do, it will be in it's highly padded case, and then that would be inside the luggage padded with the clothes, so not really worried. I'd be more worried about theft than accidental breakage. But that's just me. I definitely understand what you're saying, just knowing my stuff that isn't a worry I'd have.

We have left our electronics behind for bell service to transfer and have never had a problem. We notify them what is in the bag and they have tagged it so they know to be extra careful with it.
