Prayers for all of the people impacted with their homes and and pray no one was killed or injured around Vero Beach. Sounds like resort was spared from the tornado.

I think the tornados were down near Fort Pierce. It’s not too bad here right now. We are 6 miles from the resort.

I spoke too soon. Sebastian Daily is reporting that tornadoes hit on the beachside in Vero and the Indian River Sheriff’s office is responding. They also said the Vero Beach police department was struck by a tornado.

Wow - I've got a stay at the resort coming up in a couple of weeks. Watching for damage reports.

Sebastian Daily has a pic of some damaged condos near Quail Valley which is in Vero. Not close to the Disney resort. The bridges are now closed.

My daughter works near the VB Police Dept and her office was open today. Thank goodness she chose to work from home.

Seeing a lot of photos on Facebook of damages in Vero Beach. Looks really bad in certain parts.

Police still had the bridges blocked off this morning. Not sure if that’s changed. The Melbourne airport has a 30 foot hole in the roof. We have power but internet and cable out. Just thankful to have power. DD is coming here later to cool off, eat, etc. she lost all the food in her fridge and her neighbor’s shed blew into their yard. Anyone know how the resort did? If I see any pics, I’ll be sure to share them.

I haven't been over on the island. Officials asked people not to go over to the island unless they absolutely had to. I think someone posted that was staying there and they said things seemed fine. I did drive to my daughter's in Vero yesterday and there is significant damage where the tornadoes struck. She even said it was like a night and day difference between Vero and Sebastian.

sounds like the area by disney did okay. The area just on the other side of the 17th street and Barbour bridges did not do as well...

Just came back from my first stay at Disney's Vero Beach, right after the hurricane. We came back in love with the resort and can't wait to go back. Amazing cast members, entertainment team, everything was in perfect condition. We got to watch a rocket launch from the beach yesterday and on the way to the airport to fly home, I was already searching for Vero Beach contracts. Very relaxing way to end a Disney parks trip. I had to come here and write down my adoration for the resort

The only disney resort we like staying at more than VB is the Grand Floridian.... It is a very special resort to us, and the cast members are extraordinary....

We have yet to stay at HH, so maybe that would take the cake...

So good to hear that you had a great visit and the resort is in good shape. We went to Vero for the first time in 2020 and have been back every single year since. Not that we don’t love the other resorts but Vero is great for a short getaway without the stress and expense of planning for the parks.

The relaxed vibe, proximity to the ocean, friendliness of the employees, it’s all wonderful. If it weren’t for the noseeums, it might be my favorite vacation spot, period.

It looks like the beach got partially washed out. It's not two levels, with a sharp drop of about 6'.

I am not sure I could do a full week at Vero with my personality, whereas after 5-6 nights at WDW I feel like my vacation is just beginning....

That said, we love Vero and 2-3 nights there is just perfect....

We just left Vero and I would say less than a third of the umbrellas were booked before the walk-up window opened. That being said, the line for the chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas got pretty long some days though. I got there at 8:45 one morning and I was 5th in line and by the time the window opened, it was about 15 -20 deep. The guys there said that the lines have been getting crazy lately. I went back later that day to book a set for the next day just to avoid the lines.
