VERO BEACH Information & Adoration Thread

Are the chair/umbrellas complementary or is there a fee?
Fee at the beach. Reserve them on your first day for length of stay as they will sell out. We recommend sticking with the umbrella vs cabana.

They will put your name by your chairs each morning so you can come and go as you please.

The pool does not charge a fee for its umbrellas and chairs.

Given the high dues for the resort it is borderline outrageous they charge for the beach chairs but they do!

I suspect they do it because they feel they don’t have adequate real estate space to provide as many chairs as they would need to if they were free rather than about meaningfully contributing to the bottom line.

I think the high dues for this resort is because of its susceptibility to storm damage and has nothing to do with real estate space.

first visit next week!!! very nervous seems like the temps are going to drop.

VB is very different than WDW in the sense that it’s a quiet, low-key experience.

If temperatures drop low and the pool is closed, then it’s best if you have a car to spend the time sightseeing and shopping.

Ended up booking a weekend stay at VB in a 2BDRM for June. Can you reserve the beach umbrella/chairs in advance? Worried that since we will only be staying for 2nights that it would be sold out already by the time we check in. I know my five year old is going to want to play in the sand for a good amount of time.

I don't believe you can, but I am not familiar with them selling out. You can always call the front desk to find out.

I saw that there is a character breakfast on Saturdays and ADRs are on Open Table 60 days out. Do I have to jump on it exactly at 60 days out? What time do Open Table reservations open up?

I would imagine it depends on the specific saturday and your party size, but have never made that reservation 60 days out and had no issues getting a table.

Characters last time we were there were Goofy and Pluto. They were friendly and spent a good amount of time at the table. Far nicer way to meet characters than the theme park visits or even DCL to be honest.

Thanks for the tips! We are a party of 6 so will try to book at 60 days to make sure we get a good time.

We’ll be at VB starting January 7th. I just booked our Wind & Waves dining and breakfast reservations on Open Table yesterday. Plenty of availability. Things may be much busier in June, but we have never had any problem getting dining ADRs at VB.

We are going to Vero from Jan 3rd to 5th and of course the nice weather we’ve been having in Florida is supposed to get a bit colder then (highs below 70). Will the pool still be open? Anyone have recommendations for things to do in the area or at the resort with three boys ages 5 months to 12 years old?

We were there around that time last year and it was cold. From what I remember the pool was open.

Bike riding might be a fun thing to do - they have bike rentals. They have games and puzzles in the main building as well. There are some mini golf courses not too far, as well as the simple one the resort has. Vero isn't exactly known for having a lot to do.

That is definitely my worry! I’m glad I had already exchanged my first night for a stay at Poly. May try and reserve another night at Disney instead.

might not be a bad idea... and I say that as someone who likes Vero Beach, but I'm not sure what there is to do with the kids beyond family time and outdoor activities.

One thing is there is a wildlife activity center about a mile away from the resort. Someone on the boards may remember the actual name of it. But once again, still outside. There's also the McKee botanical gardens, which are a bit of a drive, and also, outside.

We don’t mind outdoor activities just don’t want the kids to be cooped up all day watching screens. We could do that at home for free 😂

That ended up being one of our VB trips sadly... still was fun, but that's the problem with a weather dependent vacation!

Hi, we are staying at VB in May, can anyone recommend a spray for the noseums please. My husband normally gets bitten really badly and from what ive read they're immune to products containing DEET and you are better to buy on resort. TIA
