I keep reading all these negative things about Disney on the boards lately and I just want to say that I have only been to WDW 3 times but I have never had anything to complain about, sure little things have not gone as planned but it is vacation. I love Disney, when we go my whole trip is Magical. I am sure that some trips have been awful but......I just want to hear more positive things. Here is my positive things for today,

On our last trip in December 05 my DH and I went to Cali Grill and had the most outstanding waiter, we wanted to try a wine but not knowing anything about wine, he took time to teach us about the wines he thought we may enjoy. It was the best dinning experience we have ever had. At the parks we met a CM that loved Disney so much, he know all kinds of info about WDW. It was great to meet someone who had so much passion for their job.
...Ok, I'm stepping off my box now. Just wanted to put my opinion out there.

It is always easier to complain than to talk positively. I have been to WDW only two times but I am trying desperately to add to that number. While there have been a few minor problems that have occured I have always had a magical time and always view Disney as such a wonderful place.

The reality is that such a huge place can not run perfectly 100% of the time. While I feel for those that have had negative experiences there would not be so many Disers if it was not fabulous.

That is true, I was just trying to say that while WDW holds itself to higher standards then most vacation places, I think we sometimes hold them to unreachable standards.

But I do agree, if it was not great there would not be so many DISers.

I totally agree with that. We have such high expectations that there is no way Disney can live up to that.

Me and my crew have just begun yet another year as annual passholders and we go roughly about 14 or 15 times a year and have never had any problems with anything at any park. We have stayed on property, used the bus system, park hopped, ridden just about everything, eaten many places and quite honestly, I can't think of anything that ever happened that was anything more than maybe a minor inconvienience. However that said, in any business there are imperfect people, situations that happen and unexpected mishaps that occur along the way. Disney is not perfect. However I will wager you that they do try harder than most other companies or theme parks you'll find. So to those who say bad things about the Disney theme parks I say "If you can build one better...be our guest.

I have been going very regukarky since 1993. I have been there when Disney was at it's best (93-98) been there when the bean counters on the board robbed the life from Dosney (99-2002).

I am thankfull to say that Disney is back on the right track. Things in the last 3 years have been trending to the positive each time we go back. Yes, there are still a few issues that pop up here and there. But the growing pains of the late 90's are well behind, and everything looks good to go.

I totally agree. Sometimes it amazes me that people can spend a week at Disney then gripe about the bathrooms! :confused3
No one and/or nothing is perfect.

Let's focus on the good...which is about 99% of the place!!!!

I love Mickey!

The last time I went to WDW, it was perfectly clean (not just damn good for such a busy place) and I never went into a WDW bathroom (except for that one time I stayed onsite) without an attendant in there, just waiting to clean up. Last trip *was* going on 6 years ago though...

Looking forward to another lovely trip next year. First one as a mom of 2 :cool1:

Great thread....thanks to the original poster for starting this.
It seems to be human nature to complain more than to compliment. We have been to WDW as a family several times since 1997. I had been as a young(er!) person three times in the early seventies and one time in 1983 for our honeymoon. WDW has always been, and will always be, a very special place for me. Not everything is always perfect. This will never happen at WDW or anyplace else. The big difference I think is that Disney really tries to make things as perfect as possible. Most (not all) of the Cast Members are super people who really care about what they are doing. The biggest difference I see today is that there is a certain percentage of customers who don't treat WDW as most of us here on the DIS do. I have seen people leave garbage everywhere while there is a can just a few feet away. I have seen people take cups of whatever on Big Thunder and (of course) it was spilled all over the seats when the train came back.....guess who was lucky enough to get those seats!?
IMHO most of the problems (and there are not many) at WDW are caused by the guests themselves, not necessarily by Disney of it's CM.
We all know that Disney is held to higher standards than anybody else in the business. Unfortunately, when guests cause a lot of the problems there is only so much Disney can do to correct the situations.
Thank you to Disney and it's Cast Members for caring and trying so hard.
It's a real tribute to Walt Disney and his vision.

People just need something to complain about. I've never had a bad experience at Disney, because I don't look for perfection, it just doesn't exist. Have no expectations, and you won't be dissappointed.
