I agree! I much prefer the finger scanning they’ve got at WDW. Maybe this will get better when magic bands come
I’m pretty sure they don’t take pictures until your first re-entry. At least that’s what happened with us. We rope-dropped at DL on Monday with new tickets, but our picture wasn’t taken until we hopped over to DCA. Honestly, I didn’t find the process of entering DL to take long at all. We got in line at 7:45 and were in the park by 7:53am. And this was on a busy spring break Monday.
Better than getting stuck behind a million large families who all need their pictures taken. There’s definitely delays with the finger scanning but at least in my experience it’s typically much fasterI do not like the finger scanning. We have so many problems with that and you then hold up the line as they have to get the boss over to help out. We've been both the person who held up the line and the person who was right after the person holding up the line. It's super frustrating.
I do hope Magic Bands get here this year tho, tapping instead of scanning is so much nicer. And that would help solve this problem too since the picture could be stored on the disney account no?![]()
To speed up entry in the morning, they will often skip pictures til 2nd entry. They are suppose to take your photo when your ticket is first used at either theme park. Sometimes when the front gates get busy, they will bypass the photo to speed up the entry lines.
It's been a while since I was at Disneyland, but could or do they have large signs along the path to or at the security check points that state something like: "You MUST have a ticket AND a reservation in order to get into the park"? And then have a CM there to answer questions ( off to the side as to not make a backup at the security tables). Perhaps that would help eliminate or cut down the hold ups at the turnstiles?Monday it wasn't photo taking, it was 2 of the 3 groups ahead of us "not having reservations." Don't know what the final resolution was as we hopped into a third line it was taking so long to figure out. In Florida I seem to more often see additional CMs (the ones with the iPads) who can step in and help these groups on the side while the lines keep moving. My memory is fuzzy on if this has ever been a thing out here and I know with current staffing issues it probably isn't a viable solution to either of these problems![]()
Problem is most people who are denied entry due to reservation is that they think they have a reservation. They are not aware of the extra check box step to confirm reservation. It's been a while since I was at Disneyland, but could or do they have large signs along the path to or at the security check points that state something like: "You MUST have a ticket AND a reservation in order to get into the park"? And if someone did make a comment behind me, they might not like my response, I'm not the most pleasant first thing in the morning when I havent had any coffee!!!
Not sure why they have to do it this way. It’s sooooooo easy to miss that last required step. On my phone you can’t even see those check boxes, you have to know it’s there and scroll down.Problem is most people who are denied entry due to reservation is that they think they have a reservation. Yes, you will still have your photo taken at the turnstile when you enter the park for the first time -- this photo will be attached to your ticket. Your DAS photo is completely separate from this.If they have taken a picture for DAS, do they take another pic when we enter?
