Something needs to be done about Entry Ticket Images.

Not sure why they have to do it this way. It’s sooooooo easy to miss that last required step. On my phone you can’t even see those check boxes, you have to know it’s there and scroll down.

Stupid question, but when you make a reservation you receive an confirmation email with the reservation QR code and all that. Why would someone think they made a reservation when they didn't get that stuff?

If it was your first time making a reservation you might not realize you’re supposed to get a confirmation email and code. It can be really confusing.

Agree. And I've heard from too many people who think that just having a ticket is enough. "Doesn't your ticket count as your reservation?" Um, no.
Disney needs to lock this idiocy down by not selling tickets without park reservations. Yep, won’t be able to sell at grocery stores and credit unions and whatever but put an end to people showing up with tickets and no reservations.

I’m actually surprised there hasn’t been a lawsuit in the news yet. The terms are just boilerplate and this is CA, the land of lawyers.

Do they still sell tickets at those locations? How would that work with dates tickets?

I know Disney world does not allow ticket sales if any of the dates are sold out for reservations. I’m not sure if Disneyland does the same.

I see them at the grocery store to buy 1-3 day Disneyland tickets, looks like a gift card thing. Never tried it myself so don’t know the process.

Disneyland tickets aren’t date based like WDW. Only the 1 day tickets are date based.

Ah you're right, I remembered picking dates but I guess that was just for the reservations! It looks like if you buy tickets direct from the Disney website it makes you pick your dates for your reservation right during the buying process so that should eliminate confusion for anyone buying directly through Disney.

At the grocery store this week I saw a big sign near the gift card section that basically said if you want to buy Disneyland tickets you do it by phone now. It included a QR code as well. I wonder if they are phasing out being able to buy tickets directly.

Interesting. I just checked my store this morning and they were gone entirely!

What's funny is that they do not need to take our pictures. They have our pictures or at least they could if they wanted to. The technology is readily available.

So I buy my tickets online for our family of 6, how are they going to have all of our pictures?

I could be wrong, but I assume they're referring to gate or mounted HD camera system. The second your ticket is scanned by CM a pic could be snapped of your face. Casinos have extremely high quality cameras for YEARS now recording down to the number of diamonds on your ring, so it's pretty simple. Heck, even some red light traffic cameras can see drivers face.

If any fraud is suspected all they'd have to do is scan your ticket and see entry time match to pic (or even video) taken of your entry.

Just to confirm, I have a confirmation email that has the dates I reserved and a confirmation number for those dates and the dates are also on my app....those that don't have confirmed reservation dates wouldn't have the confirmation number dates or the dates on their app? I'm unsure about the "box to check" piece as I ordered them awhile ago and want to make sure I am not one of those people that turns up thinking I have reservations and I don't! What would it look like if I didn't have the reservation dates booked?

Agree. It can be such a terrible holdup! I wish there were lines for those who did not need pictures taken (Magic Key lines would be nice!).
Agree 100%. A friend used to say that there should have been two separate lines for AP holders and non-holders. Apparently that’s the way that DW did it and I presume still does. It’s exceptionally annoying when there’s a group of 12 ahead of me at 7:30 a.m. and each one of them has to get a pic taken and then nearly always at least one of them has several questions. If the CM doesn’t have the answer(s), you may as well lay down and take a nap. When I finally get to the turnstile, it takes me three seconds to scan my MK and to enter.

A couple days ago I logged in to my account and realized for one of my dates in April, I accidentally booked the reservation for my cousin instead of myself. After adding his pass to my account for Virtual Queues, I was unable to remove it from my account and can't be bothered to be put on hold over this IT issue. I probably misclicked his name when I booked and if I didn't happen to log in, I would have never caught the mistake.

Other than misclicks like this, if you're booking multiple days, it's possible you thought you got the right number of emails but didn't.

WDW has one entry gate at each park that's AP-only. (Weirdly, they don't seem to verify it - it seems like it's on the honor system.)

The one thing that's great at WDW - and hopefully will come to DLR when MagicBand arrives - each entry gate has two RFID readers for admission media. One CM works both. So if there's an issue at one of them, the CM helps and/or raises their hand for a supervisor - and the other reader is open for people to continue entering. It doesn't always work perfectly - families will frequently block the entire entry gate if one of their party has an issue - but it makes things much, much faster.

That idea of taking your photo early via the app could work.
I cannot think how that would be a bad thing.
I agree. You are only going to upload your own photo because you want to be able to use your ticket. Sounds like a great way for people to help cut down the line time!

We feel like we used to be pros but have not gone since the before the pandemic. I have all of our tickets on my app and don’t want to make it rough on the people behind us for our first day because there is 7 of us. Could someone please give me advice on how we should enter? I go first and line everyone up in order so I can have them scan tickets from my phone? Thank you in advance!
