So, Bubba is worse today...going to the doctor later today. Have to call my Mom and get her butt outta bed and tell her to come up here and watch him while I go to work....don't want to call 'off' my first day

DH isn't feeling well OR having a good day at work....long story...and I think I am successfully fighting Bubba's cold off....well, at least after taking Advil for the pain behind my eyes and sore throat

Glad I could share. I am so sorry he was feeling worse this morning. Hope everything is okay with the dh. Sucks to feel bad, then have a bad day on top of it is even worse.

I know I'm doing a bad job of keeping up around here. I hope you guys understand. I'm reading and keeping up, but life is pretty crazy around here.

Joshua woke up with the sniffles. I hope we can contain it to that. I have a scratchy throat, but I'm trying to convince myself that it is just from raking leaves in the windy air yesterday. Yes, we were raking leaves in February. We have a butt load of trees around our property and raking is an ongoing process. Just when you think you've gotten them all, a good windy day proves you wrong. Anyway, I've started the Zicam just in case.

I am going to try to get some more stuff done around here today. I just can't seem to get motivated. I think I have this fear that something is going to happen and we won't really be able to go... so, I keep not doing things that I need to do. It's like, if I clean and pack then I'm thinking we're really going... and I'm afraid we aren't going... so I don't do it. That doesn't make sense, does it?

I'm off to do laundry and see what else I can get into.

Tricia don’t worry about responding to everyone. We know what all you have been going through. I hope Joshua is feeling better by now and you to. Remember you need to go to Daytona so I can live vicariously through you.

So....my Mom can't come up and take care of Bubba for me while I go to work (new job--1st day) for 4 hours! So, I called my client/friend Pat (the lady that was here for Christmas....the older one, like a Grandma)...she is coming up to help me out. I was so ticked at my Mom, I couldn't believe her priorities I told her not to worry about me, he's my son and I will take care of it. (Also mentioned it was my first day and if I had to call off and they didn't want me, I'd go thru the unemployment filing and such....) She did call back later saying she tried to reschedule the appt. she has, but couldn't.... Told her not to worry, I took care of it. Can you believe this woman is going on vacation with us this summer?? Grrreeaaattttt....

Oh boy, sounds like you are going to have as much fun with your mom on vacation as I did last year. Why do we keep doing that to ourselves? Sorry she wasn’t there for you. Glad Pat was.

lori - all the sickies gone from your household now? and for the record, its 12 degrees right now Another thing you had mentioned about the sunset times. We noticed that when we are in Orlando, the sun sets about 45 minutes or so after it usually does here at home....but if you look at a map, Orlando is about 90+ miles west of us (while not in the next time zone, its about halfway between EST and CST) - so it just makes sense that the further west you are you have light later than us who are further East, right ? Its pretty cool

btw - still slightly cranky, but getting better today

We are all pretty much better. The doc gave Mikey a sample pack, two week dosage of the 500 mg Advair to get his asthma under control. He seems to be doing better with it too. Sorry Cbean is having so much trouble with hers.

And now I have one more reason to not move North! Like there was any possibilities of that happening.

Yeah, he's at school. He ate a waffle for breakfast and didn't have a fever, so I didn't see any reason to keep him home. He already missed Friday because of the doctor's appointment. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he doesn't get worse.

Joshua's favorite driver is Tony Stewart too. I think he is fun to watch. I would like him for no other reason than he punched Kurt Busch in the face. I ain't buying the "Kurt fell in the bathroom" story. Yeah, he fell and hit his face in the locker room a few hours after he intentionally hit Tony Stewart's car on pit row. Yeah. And both drivers got called into a meeting with Nascar officials. Yeah.

So Tony punched Kurt? Way to go Tony!

i overslept and got out of bed at 10 this morning and only on cup 3 of coffee.
didn't sleep at all during the night and still haven't gotten enough rest with what i did get this morning.

We have many things in common; one of them happens to be a complete ambivalence about football, the other is a loathe of anything NASCAR. I cannot succumb! You guys are killing me. Between football season and NASCAR, I am losing all the meat in the posts, and I'm not ignoring you; I am just not following the chatter.

as far as the trip goes.....got the room at the HRH, Jim took off the Friday before and Monday after in case we are driving (pre and post car lag days), I called the AAA office and they have the tickets because I didn't buy them on the special sale they had I have reward night hotel rooms lined up one for the way down one for the way back. I just have this feeling that something is going to "happen", you know??

Kait is getting pms and not being very cooperative these days and has been late Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and today in getting to school (we are talking just by 3-5 minutes, but still they mark them late and you need to provide a note for them to get into school). I can wake her up at 530 in the Angry Mike hours and she STILL wouldn't be ready on time - and my "prodding" then yelling, then raving like a lunatic doesn't help at all. I mean, yeah, we only live a 3 minute car ride, if that, from school....but COME ON!!!!! How long does it take to straighten your hair, put on the pants, shirt and go???? So Jim wasn't too happy about that and started with the "she better get motivated to move in the mornings or there is no way in HE!! that I am pulling her @$$ out of school for a *&%$#*% week for vacation" ! - If she keeps it up, there is no way they will allow her to be out for a week

So that is why I am starting to get upset/nervous. He told me that and I got really quiet.....and after we got off the phone.....I'll admit it - I cried Because I really want/need this vacation. That may sound selfish, but darn it, the mini vaca to the GWL in December was nice, but nothing beats our April/May gig!!!!

In addition to that, I am certain that this will be the last year we will be able to pull the kids out of school because the agenda/curriculum is going to be harder with Kait in 8th, Court in 4th and Frank in 1st next year.

Well I have two solutions for you.

1) Leave Kate behind with family to teach her a lesson

Or

2) Go in July while Barb & I are there! Much better than the first solution!

tricia keep it coming...now when somebody seems to forecheck another driver into the wall - that is considered fair play? no sickies allowed this week (take a shot of southern comfort or Jack in hot tea - that'll do the trick...or at least you'll feel better while you sniffle)

Only by listening to the advice here, have i grown a backbone & told my overly demanding family to chill their jets, the pile of crap that represents whatever of their dramas, will still be there for me to sort thru when i get home. Sorry I was so late. I had make a 5 hour last minute round trip with a friend this morning. I posted as soon as I read it!

The interview got shifted to 2p. It went well, but they needed someone for a 1.5-2+ year commitment, as the office was starting a new training program. I would've been the perfect candidate (travel to Tampa/Clearwater would've been req'd, but that's okay, I'd also have to learn a lot of stuff which was fine with me). Only problem? I'm going to Denver in 6 months.

D'oh.

They did offer me a chance to come in on Wed and do chair massage for an in-office event they're having for 2hrs. It'll be $20/hr while I'm there, plus I'll get my name/face out there.

Sorry it didn’t go the way you wanted. At least you will be able to go make some money and like you said “get your name out there”.

For those of you looking for a good Ricky Bobby driver (not like Ricky Bobby, but the whole anti-Nascar thing)... pick somebody like Patrick Carpentier or Juan Pablo Montoya or Jaques Villeneuve. They are all crossover guys from open wheel racing (Formula 1/Indy). They are all *gasp* foreigners.

I always loved the gay, french driver of the Perrier car in Talledega Nights.

I wish! He was an unbelievable defensive end & also linebacker. I miss getting to watch him play. Unfortunately he had to many injuries to be able to go on and play. Coaches loved him though!
