Well, THIS is frustrating! After I finally get motivated to upload my pics from my computer from the waterproof cameras we used (that I had CD's made from and have been sitting on my computer for 2 weeks), I find out that the CD's I thought were from Blizzard Beach were actually the CD's from my son's music camp (yeah, you all saw those pics already). So I search the whole house and finally come up with the other 2 CD's.

Load the first one and find that it has 29 pics on it instead of 26, and they're all of half an image. Well, actually 2 halves, but 2 different halves if that makes sense! I don't know if they're going to be able to fix it or not, but I guess I'll run it back to Walgreens and ask them to try! Luckily the pics I was trying to find was on the other roll.

A set of then and now shots for you guys, from the waterpark. This trip on the family raft ride at Blizzard Beach:

And from 1998 - I can't believe how terrified both DS (12 now, then 3) and I look! This is the same kid as in the above pic - I think he looks more different than I do, do you agree?

Familyraft.jpg

Lori - wow, that sucks! I remember you telling me about the AP passes. Did you by any chance get the name of the manager you dealt with? I think I'd try writing a letter to the higher ups, explaining the entire situation and how it was handled, and telling them exactly what you told us - about not wanting to give them anymore of your money after what's happened. Obviously if you knew who you'd talked to it would help more. Those kind of things REALLY upset me, so you probably don't want to get me involved! ;)

Sharon - loved seeing your pics now - I was also in the "white box with red x" camp before. I had a really hard time picking out which was you and which was DD - hope I got them right! You look great! I think we have the exact same Red Sox shirts that your daughter has on at the game - stands look pretty empty! Are you from Boston? My brother and family live in Bedford if you know where that is! They got us all the matching shirts after they won the World Series a few years back.

fantastic pics guys!

all this "pooh" talk - sorry, i cannot help myself

marci - thats a big dent in the wallet;) ; think i've only bought 3 photopass tix over the years (yep, i'm cheap)...always do the free Epcot Dis visa ones.:rotfl2:

lori - yikes, never heard of that happening; you have all the room in the universe to vent.:rolleyes1took it very well imo. did you have your printout/receipt with you? very disturbing...i'm paranoid, even took our AAA CC receipt when i traded in our tix for APs.i've got an ex-everything i'd like to dump...he still calls me to whine about whatever...DH finds it absolutely hysterical.

Alison - I know the feeling! Must be a teen boy thing where their brains just don't kick into gear. (Warning - total gross-out story ahead)!

DS15 has been having 2 a day practices for soccer. Okay, no polite way to say it, but his feet (and shoes and socks and shinguards) STINK! They are not allowed in the house - basically he strips everything off in the garage (just feet, his clothes aren't that bad) and the socks stay out there until I'm ready to throw a load in the laundry. Even on the rides home in the car, I find myself opening his window and telling him to stick his feet out it as we drive home!

So yesterday when I pick him up, he's peeling his stuff off in the car on the drive home. Okay, he does that, the car stinks, whatever. But then he starts picking at all the blisters/calluses/loose skin on his feet. Okay, I can ignore this too. But then he takes what he's picking off and ... EATS it!  I suggested he stop immediately unless he wanted me crashing the car while I was vomiting! Sigh!

DS plays hockey, ever been in a car with a teen who hasn't showered after the game and his bag of wet equipment?! It's nasty! And i'ts too cold out (or snowing) to open the windows? Some of the high school players don't empty out their bags and wash the jerseys. I've seen them playing with moldy jerseys. Totally disgusting! DH made DS a hockey man and you hang all of your stuff on it to dry. Pretty cool. For a while he was selling them to other parents.

I had the bestest massager during my mani/pedi. On another note, I just got my roots colored yesterday, and she cut my hair just a bit too short. So now I have the bright yellow roots with the curled up hair. I hate it when that happens. Wish I could find my Prell, but some gentleman who lives in my house who shall remain nameless tends to use that regularly. I only use it for a day or two after the initial color so a bottle should last me a year. But, no, every ... fricking ... time I get my hair colored I have to go out and buy a new bottle!!

I am off for some errands now. My mom needs the last 3 episodes of Big Love that we taped for her. I have to pick up cupcakes for our "niece's" birthday (hot dogs and cupcakes for Bailey!), and then, oh, yeah ... I HAVE TO BUY SOME FLIPPING PRELL!
What does the prell do for you? :confused3

Sharon - loved seeing your pics now - I was also in the "white box with red x" camp before. I had a really hard time picking out which was you and which was DD - hope I got them right! Nope, from Maine, about 1 1/2 hours from Boston. I'm trying to convince my son to attend college there instead of Florida (his first choice), or Rochester NY (2nd choice).

You know I was so upset that I didn't even think to right his name down. They were able to pull up our entire transaction for the AP's just said that we should have come back sooner to use them. The said that the flex pay tickets started on the first day they were charged and beside we had been given tickets to compensate us for it, and they did - three day tickets for those AP's. I argued with him but it didn't do any good.

Of course at the window beside me was a woman there to get her compensation from a previous visit when another guest ran over her foot with an ecv in the park. She was complaining about how long it was taking & they told her not to worry about it about it because what she would be receiving would be worth her wait.

I really didn't get it, she was hurt by another guest and was being compensated. I had paid for tickets and wasn't allowed to use them. Yeah, I was very upset!

I am catching up....but wanted to let you all know, last night DH made my crappy day end well .... all I can say is:

Same DS went to New York to soccer camp back when he was 11. 5 day camp - 3 of the days the temps were in the upper 90's with heat indices over 100. Not once did DS take a shower during the 5 days (or go in a pool or anything logical like that). Not once did he, um (to use Tricia's word) "pooh" while he was there. And the worst thing was the last morning he had a soccer game and then flew home (grandparents drove him) and he didn't even bother to take off his stinky socks, shinguards or cleats! I'm surprised they let him on the plane!

What college are you looking at? Harvard? My brother is a doctor at the Harvard Medical Center/Hospital, whatever it is! Although since he specializes in Geriatric Psychiatry, I'm guessing he wouldn't have much contact with your son, even if he did go there!

Lori - I'd still write that letter and include as many details as you could and just see if something would happen. You'll be going back to Florida - if they even comp you one day tickets or something it would be worth the effort. I agree that I can't believe how you were treated. We had really good customer service while we were there and I think they'd want to do what they could. Really, it's probably luck of the draw - if you get someone who cares, you'll probably worth something. But either way, it's probably worth the 15 minutes you'd spend writing a letter!

Okay guys, I need to get a vent off my chest. First off I want to tell you all I LOVE the Universal parks, I really do.

Now way back in 2005 a posted this thread; http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=875168.

Unfortunately things did not go as I was promised. When we went to use these tickets we were refused entry. I went to guest services & got to deal with a very unprofessional manager. Basically I was told that it was my choice not to have used those AP's and since I had tried to go in the park that one day with the back in 05 that our year was up. I had to buy new tickets for the 4 of us even though I had AP's that had never been activated. To top it off he refused to return the tickets to me so I can go no further with pursuing anything. They did know the person that had signed my voucher but siad she no longer worked there. So the great gesture on their part turned in to nothing. I had 4 ap's that I was never able to use. I realize that I did get tickets to use on our trip in 05 but they were supposed to have been given as compensation for my trouble.

This is the second time we have had trouble with tickets we have bought online through Universal. The pervious time we bought several tickets for a big family trip we were taking. 2 people ended up not getting to go so we had 2 tickets that had never been used. When we went back the following year and tried to use the tickets they said they were part of a group purchase that had been refunded and we bought them from that group. Well I personally purchasedthose tickets, through Universals website and never recieved any refund. So basically I have bought 4 AP's & 2 I think 7 day tickets that I was never able to use.

At this point I am having a hard time even consdering ever giving them any more business. It really did put a damper on that part of our trip. Can you guys help me out with getting past this so I can go back again in the future and enjoy my visit?

I hope I haven't upset anyone. I've just been really upset about it and need to get it out.

Oh Lori, that's terrible! I know you were sick over it! I have 2 5 day tickets left from last year and I sure hope that I can use them next year! I can understand the way you're feeling about going back even though I LOVE US/IOA so much!
We will get past this, Lori! :grouphug:

Thanks for all the support everyone. I will try to write up a letter and send it in. It is terrible to enjoy a place so much and have bad fellings about returning. I am already missing it, probably because we didn't enjoy it a whole lot while we were there this time because of the problem.

Although, our day at IOA we had a blast on our favorite ride, Popeye & Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges. Ally & my niece absolutely had a blast. I swear that has got to be the best water ride on the planet!

Hey everyone!

I had to skim quick through the posts so if I don't get a chance to comment, please don't get mad

Barb, glad you had an "enchanted" evening ;)
love-smiley-058.gif

I know someone asked...maybe Sharon....but I am getting married sometime in the summer of 2009 in Disney.

I loved the pics from all! They were great...love to see tight families!

Started school today! Not bad not bad.....the classes are online so how bad can they really be?? ;)

Okay...I'm catched up....

janet and raven....I know Dianne "does" the "math" thing....what do you guys do? (subject & grade) :confused3

Alison....thank goodness I just finished my glass of milk reading your story :rotfl: Have you tried Gap jeans for your DS? Do they come w/ adjustable waists for his size? :confused3 :rotfl: (Had to get Bubba jeans from there...had to go to next bigger size in 'original cut' to get length and pull the adjustable waistband in 4 notches on EACH side :sad2: ) Good luck with the tall/skinny jeans thing....I'm in that boat with you.

Penny girl...TWO days

Marcie...good pix ;) and EW! about the soccer story :scared:

Lori.... you really are having a rough summer, ain't you? Maybe the 'bad' is over and the 'good' will start....I agree with the others about writing a letter to the higher ups about your tickets....that's just not right, NO matter HOW cheap/inexpensive they were. They should be able to do something..... (if you need us to sign a petition, I'm sure the homies will help you out!)

Sharon....well, your pictures just flat out made me hungry! Excellent lookin' food! Thanks for remembering to share them with us. Oh, and I can totally relate to HOCKEY STINK!! :crazy2: DH plays ice hockey and his stuff REEKS! And yes...there are "younger" guys who put their bag in their car and don't OPEN the bag, let alone actually WASH anything, for the week (or however long between games). DH is sure to hang and air his equipment out and wash jerseys, jock, etc. each week. DS plays soccer and his stuff stinks too...but if I had to compare hockey stink to soccer stink, hockey stink wins...hands down! So, I can relate to you and Alison!

And Jodie...PRELL??? Uh...no! That and Pert are the absolute two worst shampoos you can use on your hair. In the industry, we have a joke that "Pert" and "Prell" are good for cleaning floors.... What's that tell you?? Tell Mike to switch shampoos, or one day he may not have to worry about shampooing anything at all. Prell (& it's evil cousin Pert) basically have really harsh agents/ingredients in them that strip hair ....and color....which is probably why Jodie was lookin' to use it after color..it just helps to strip the loose color particles from the hair, lightening it a bit. And Jodie, if you're coloring your hair, you need a moisturizing shampoo and leave in conditioner. ;) (Have a wonderful weekend...again!)

Okay, I think I caught up w/ everyone..... today was my first day back to regular (office) hours since Bubba is back in school. Okay, interesting day...bosses aren't in, so more relaxed there. I'm just used to leaving at 1:30, not 3:30 :guilty: ....but, I'll be (somewhat) happy when I gets paid! Back to donating to the 'vacation' fund :cool1: Had soccer practice again tonite, and "whiner kid" wasn't too bad tonite....we think cuz Mom just dropped him off. ;)

Well, off to bed...."see" everyone tomorrow!

Barb, glad you had an "enchanted" evening ;)
love-smiley-058.gif

I like your choice of words "enchanted" :lmao: ...it was just good, fun, s*x ;)

Started school today! Not bad not bad.....the classes are online so how bad can they really be?? ;)

Online?? Jeez...easy! Lucky you don't have to walk thru cold snow to get to class :thumbsup2 You said Masters studies....anything more specific?

What does the prell do for you? :confused3

.

strips the color ........if you have the yellow blonde toner, it will lighten up.

You know I was so upset that I didn't even think to right his name down. They were able to pull up our entire transaction for the AP's just said that we should have come back sooner to use them. a letter will help you in this situation.
did you save your confirmation numbers from the online purchase?
if your letter gets to the right place/person, you will be contacted and be able to explain the situation.

I am catching up....but wanted to let you all know, last night DH made my crappy day end well .... all I can say is:

we know.
you didn't return last night.......:rolleyes1

have to say marcie looks skinny when the kid was 2 years old and still when he is 12 years old.

sharon looks thin also and more like a sister not a mother to the other female.....which is her daughter.

and the other pics were kewl also.
everyone looks thin

Lori - That's a terrrible feeling and it is hard not to let it color your whole view. All I can say is that I hope you can work something out or work through it. If not, I couldn't blame you a bit. When you feel like you haven't been treated well, it is hard to enjoy yourself.

Barb - Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself the other night. Hubby finally caved to my loopy charms (last night too). ;)

Katie - Good luck with your online classes and your little swimmers. I still have nightmares about wandering the General Classroom Bldg at my college and I don't know which class comes next or where I'm supposed to be. Maybe if online classes had been an option when I was a college student, I would have better memories of those days.

Alison - We seem to have a lot of tall & skinny sons between us. At least my son is still young enough that I can shop for the adjustable waist jeans/pants like Barb said. Do they do that for older kids? I'm hoping all of you guys will be able to help me out for brands/stores as he gets older. :scared:

Mac - Burning the midnight oil again, I see!

Morning everyone!

This will be another errand running day for me. I'm trying to get all the grocery shopping done today because I know that the tourists from Atlanta and elsewhere will flood our grocery store starting tomorrow and on through the weekend. I hate to shop with dozens of people staring blank and the aisle markers mumbling, "Where is the beer in this place?" I live in a dry county, so there is no beer.

Let's see... tomorrow night is the premier of Tak and the Power of Juju on Nick, so my Friday afternoon will be spent answering the, "How long is it until 8:00?" question over and over. I'm trying to plan a few time consuming projects to take the edge off.

I need to get something in the mail to my oldest sister for her birthday. She and my FIL have the same birthday, then my mom's is the next week. We just had my MILs, my brothers, and a nephews. Couldn't we have spread these out a little? I mean, how inconsiderate.

Okay, I'm off to try and shower. I think my mom is tagging along for the shopping, so it'll take me longer that it normally would. :rolleyes1

morning homies.

well, penny just has 2 more sleeps until her trip.
i'm hoping for great weather for her.
no rain or 95 degree weather.

rvgal, did you ever get my pm to you?
i appreciate you greatly.

so, i it looks like we have some "lucky" ladies with us now.
i wasn't one of them, i had a headache.

going to curves soon.

wonder if jodie went this morning yet.
jodie, have a great time on your trip!

catch you homies later

Good morning everyone! Penny - have a great time on your trip and we expect to hear as much about it as we've hear about the countdown!

Guess I wasn't as grossed out by the cat/milk story as most of you. Well, okay, the drinking hours old warm milk part maybe, but I guess in our house, the cat drinking out of the cereal bowl (even while humans are eating out of it), is a common occurrence. DH insisted I add in some pics for you guys!

Morning everyone!

I will write up a letter & send it to the powers that be. I can probably get some info from my bank because they were purchased with a debit card through our checking account. I really don't expect them to do anything. I imagine that is why he kept the tickets. They had numbers on the back of them that allowed them to track the account. He could tell they hadn't been used, just didn't care.

Does anyone know anything about the flex tickets? I remember from when I bought them that they did not activate until they were used & someone else in my original thread said the same thing. Do they still sell the flex tickets? Just wondering so I could see what it says now.

You know Barb, in the whole scheme of things it really hasn't been a bad summer. I have a great life, a great family & a great bunch of friends, especially here with my homies!!!! I am very blessed. We have been through a lot here but we are all doing fine.

Katie - do tell, I would love to hear what your studies are. Online is great!

Marcie - that is just gross!!!! But I do have a BIL that thinks his dog is human. When he comes to visit he lets the dog eat off his plate, shares ice cream with it & I have even seen him brush the dogs teeth, with his toothbrush!!!!!!!!

Now for that smelly hockey/soccer stuff; when my oldest ds played football his room smelt disgusting from his equipment. We would have booster club meetings in the field house and your eyes would burn from the smell. At least with the shoulder pads we could take them to the car wash and hose them down. Amazing what it would do. I know some of the parents even took the white football pants to the carwash to clean them up some. They would come out very white. I am so glad that is over. Other DS plays baseball but the smell just isn't as bad. I know that the kids around here that don't wash their stuff do it for superstious reasons. Some of the things I have seen! Yuck!

Oh yeah, dad's b'day is Sunday so we will be leaving for the lake this afternoon. I probably won't have a chance to get back online. So everyone have a great day & terrific weekend!!!!

Penny have fun on your trip.

getting nervous.....

keep unpacking stuff......

does that mean more shrek stuff//

oh by the way

I am now 75% certain I will probably ride Mummy......:scared1:
some jokester at work tried to tell me to sit in first 10 rows for shamu- I said are you crazy???????????
Monk here!!!!!!!

weren't "flex tixs" the ones sold overseas - gemma?

Put me down for: 24, heros, er (anything on the travel channel/history); closet Dr. Who fan...and of course sports - 24/7 in a house of men.

BTW, Steeler headed down south tonight to catch the Panthers by the tail:cheer2:

some enchanted evening...going to wash that man right out of my hair..with Prell:lmao: bali hi

barb - i am "retired";) , still a realtor (license in escrow -referrals only). Last 9-5 gig - supervisor of warehouse seasonal pricing staff for local merchant. Other "hats" in descending order: commercial rental agent, employee evaluator/security; bookeeper; bartender; owned a large residential/comercial cleaning business; administative assistant and secretary still don't know what i want to be when i grow uppopcorn::
