Alison, while I have never drank milk that's been left out all day, I have absent-mindedly fed Alex some sugar milk while eating cereal and then used the same spoon ... I hadn't realized I had done that, but Mike watched me do it and let me. Now, I only eat cereal in a feline-free zone.

Tricia, goodness knows why I started reading this thread, but I did, thought of you, and all I can say is at least you only had to clean up your own kid's poo! Check out post #132:

Sometimes, I feel that reading the Community Board is better entertainment than a trash magazine .... I mean, dare I open the title: "DH got another woman pregnant"???

Well, I am off to tan and then get a mani/pedi before our trip. I had wanted to put in a load of laundry before I went, but my honey is still sleeping. He worked late last night, and I don't want to wake him as I scoop up all the clothes I've left on our bathroom floor......

xx

Oh, and my eyes are doing better. The doctor managed to squeeze me in when I took the boys for their eye exams yesterday so I got some drops. Unfortunately, it means I have to wear my glasses (which I hate doing!) for the next few days, but I'm surviving!

Even more surprising, all 3 boys still passed their eye exams with perfect vision. Just really weird because both DH & I are pretty much blind and all 4 grandparents (and I think all blood-related aunts & uncles) wear glasses too. Glad we don't have to worry about glasses (the braces are enough right now!), but not sure where they got these genes from!

marcie, i was wonderiing what happened with your pink eye.
you'll be feeling better in a few days with the med.

i can find lot of waist 28 in my area. one of my son's wears 28 waist, 30-2 length pants.

Well Jodie - now you made me waste another half hour because I found it necessary to go read the entire "husband getting someone else pregnant" thread! :rotfl:

You know the sad part is that I'd almost suspect someone was just posting these things for fun, just to get some reactions, if I didn't know 3 people going through similar situations right now. Just some of the "I can't believe that actually happened" type stories which just seem almost funny when you read them on a message board, but you realize how devastating they are when they happen to someone close to you.

Mac - where do you get the 28 jeans? Any nationwide stores? Middle DS is getting to that point now. He just wore jeans for the first time yesterday since last school year, and I realized the kids' size 16-18's aren't going to work for much longer - he's obviously grown a few inches lately too!

okay got up a while ago as i did not sleep well and dont go to work until noon.
i am sipping coffee and holding my hand over my mouth trying not to vomit over coco puff cat drool milk and stink feet:faint:

1 more day at work(off friday to stress over leaving sunday)
and..............

Katie - good luck at school!

Gemma - we will miss you even if you are only gone for a shrt time. Hurry and get that internet hooked up!

Janet - I will send you the soon to be ex-sil & his mother for everyone you want to get rid of. Wanna deal?

Allison - sorry DS is having trouble with football. My oldest DS loved football but and still misses it to this day, graduated 3 years ago. Could have gone to college to play but he played to hard and was always injuring himself. He has had three surgery's for dislocated shoulders, a dislocated elbow & we had an ambulance ride for a major concusion. He said he just hurt to bad after games to go on and play further. My youngest though wants absolutely nothing to do with football. He is a baseball player.

Loved the milk story!!!!!!

Tricia - Loopy is good! I like that kind of medicine.

Marcie - I am so sorry we weren't able to meet up while in Orlando. Things just never seemed to get on track. I think it was mostly becuse of the heat. We just could not stay in the parks for long at a time. And then the rest of the family got there. Let's just say I won't be inviting any of them but mom to join us again. I think our high points were primarily the pool! Give me a little time and maybe I can eventually right up a small trippie.

The heat has never bothered us like that. I guess maybe because we had not had any really hot weather at home before we left. It was just so draining.

Oh yeah, and tell Matt that is just disgusting!

Jodie - enjoy your mani/pedi! And have a terrific trip!!!!

Barb - hope you have a much better day today. That is great that this group was able to help Melissa's friend. Can't wait to see her.

Everybody have a great day today!!!!!!

Does anyone else have a kid who has to try EVERYTHING?

I know I've mentioned the music before - that DS12 plays pretty much every instrument and is determined to learn any he hasn't already, but this kid is driving me crazy with the things he gets into. Last summer it was origami, it's been Rubik's Cubes, every sport in the world, etc.

Well, now over the last week, he's suddenly decided his goal in life is to learn how to knit! :confused3 Basically, again, he just goes online and finds websites that teach him. Went to one of the craft stores in our area that was going out of business and he bought a bunch of yarn and needles. So far he's knitted a scarf, hand warmers, and is currently working on a pillow! Is this weird or is it just me?

Meanwhile, my younger 2 (as I mentioned from Florida) have gotten into Harry Potter. Youngest DS is now in book 6, middle DS is in book 7 - they both just started reading HP during our Florida vacation! So probably this weekend we'll find a time to go see the most recent movie (we've rented the other 4 now) since they're both done with that book now! Again just weird that they suddenly got into it - especially since the rest of us have been reading it for years and neither of them are big readers at all!

Marcie its good that your sons are so interested in doing something. Especially the oldest- he's learning so many new skills and its so good for his brain! That's probably why he can pick stuff up so easily. Im sure you're really proud! Most kids now a days just love sitting in front of the TV or playing computer games and that's all they do all day long.

Sorry to gross everyone out! Especially those of you eating breakfast! I still haven't learned not to watch CSI (about the only show I watch) while eating something - it always seems to be one of those incredibly gross scenes where they have to explain in graphic detail what happened inside the body!

Lori - I understand! It was hard enough dealing with a family of 5 in Orlando - I don't know how you did it with more than that! Did you make it to Mythos? That was one of our highlights, in addition to (obviously) the surfing! But you've probably done Mythos before, unlike us!

And I can understand after all the flooding/rain you had, Orlando must have been even more of a shock. And it was SO hot that second week. The first week we were like "this isn't that bad", but then, WOW! We'd had really hot weather here before we left so it didn't seem that bad (and from talking to folks we missed a lot of mid 90's days here too!), but coming home and having the last 2 weeks being pretty much non-stop rain and temps in the low 60's to 70 has been a shock in the opposite direction. We actually had a hot, 90 degree day yesterday which lasted until DS's soccer game when suddenly in the last 10 minutes it went from hot and sunny to completely black, super strong winds, and, very shortly afterwards, severe storms. And today we're back to the 60s and rain. Joy! But we'll look forward to your trippie - as much as you can give us!

That reminds me, I owe you guys some pics from day 5 or whatever I'm up to! I'll try to head there next! Being totally unproductive today, can you tell?

Well Allyson, my 8 yo, is always wanting to make something or try something new. Thank goodness she has her grandpa to keep her entertained. Of course he is the reason she is always wanting something to do. The kid can not just relax. One day I went to pick her up at the inlaws an she had made a gymanastics training house for the squirrels! It had a beam, bars, everything. She is very imaginative, I just wish I had an once of her imagination.

It is great that your boys are so active. So many kids just want to sit back and let the world go by while they play their video games.

Oh, I also wanted to say that we ordered our Photopass books today - all nearly $300 worth! We decided against the CD since we pretty much had good shots of mostly the same things (even though we had over 400 pics!), but decided the books (kind of like a yearbook) would be a really good remembrance and a good gift for both sets of grandparents. Were able to include the photopass shot we really wanted in there and just kept adding and adding (did a lot of the then/now shots everyone loves so much!) - you say "oh, each page is just $1.50 extra" an just keep going and going! :rotfl: But I finally ordered them before my pics expire on Saturday. I'll let you guys know how it turns out!

Okay, some pics for you of day 5 - MK and golf for the guys!

It's lunchtime, so how about a pic of my ceasar salad poolside at the PBH. It could have feed 3 people easily!

Here is one of the fruit tray that comes with the cabana. We had already eaten the two bananas and half of the strawberries. The ice bucket held two waters.

I tried to post these pics of my family last night, some people could see them and some not. So, sorry to the people who are seeing too much of us! :rotfl:

DH, DD & DS17 at the Tampa Bay V Red Sox game. There were more Red Sox fans there than Devil Rays. Kinda sad for Tampa. Tickets were about 1/2 the price of Fenway Park plus parking was free! Can't beat that. The Red Sox won that night too!

That's actually awesome. Sounds like you may have a potential future "inventor" on your hands. Inventors are known as children to want to tinker with everything and take things apart etc., to see how they work and were constructed. Sounds like he has some of these types of tendencies.

My son is the same! Right now he's into taking apart computers and using the parts to build another. He works in a convenience store that recently upgraded their computers and gave him the old ones complete with touchscreens. You would think he died and went to heaven. Unfortunately the parts are littered all over his bedroom!

He also went thru a phase of making spud guns. Downloaded the intructions off the internet. In case you don't know what they are, they are made out of PVC pipe and can shoot out potatoes. He has 4, all different sizes. One shoots marbles, that I make him put away if he has friends over. I had to put my foot down when he asked if he could use propane for the accelerant, usually you use Right Guard deoderant!

Marcie - First, the skin consumption story was funny & gross. Gives me something to look forward to. Next, let me commiserate on the pinkeye. When DS5 started Pre-K last year we were introduced to the wonderful world of germs. Somewhere around the middle of the school year, pinkeye went through the school like wildfire. DS5 brought it home, wasn't long before DS2 had it, and eventually I had my turn. Yuck.

Another day of great pics. I hope the photo book turns out like you want!

Jodie - So, now when you read a poo-related post it makes you think of me. Hmmmm... :scratchin And, yes, at least it was my own child's mess I was dealing with. I can't imagine dealing with someone else's. When it is your own kid, it is just part of the package, but if it comes from someone else... disgusting.

Oh, and have a good time on your trip!

Penny - :cool1: 3 more days! :cool1:

Sharon - I could see the pics this time (I was in the white box with a red square crowd last night) and they were great. You have a beautiful family!

The No Dreams, No Magic thread just won't die. Now they have spun off onto another "How can you blame Disney" tangent... and have somehow made it back to the opinion the the OP had a horrible time and was only focused on a few negatives. If I were the guy, I'd have it locked just to shut everyone up.

Now, Tricia, I will not think of you for ALL poo-related stories. I will only think of you in poo-related posts when a small child reaches into his or her pants, pulls out the poo, and smears it somewhere. :goodvibes

Marcie, I haven't dared opened the "My DH got another woman pregnant" thread .... yet. I will save that one for after packing, after showering, and during a post-dinner glass of wine. :)

I had the bestest massager during my mani/pedi. On another note, I just got my roots colored yesterday, and she cut my hair just a bit too short. So now I have the bright yellow roots with the curled up hair. I hate it when that happens. Wish I could find my Prell, but some gentleman who lives in my house who shall remain nameless tends to use that regularly. I only use it for a day or two after the initial color so a bottle should last me a year. But, no, every ... fricking ... time I get my hair colored I have to go out and buy a new bottle!!

I am off for some errands now. My mom needs the last 3 episodes of Big Love that we taped for her. I have to pick up cupcakes for our "niece's" birthday (hot dogs and cupcakes for Bailey!), and then, oh, yeah ... I HAVE TO BUY SOME FLIPPING PRELL!

When my son was in Kindergarden many moons ago, he came home with chicken pox, not so unusual you might say, but neither my daughter or I had every had them. She was in middle school, it was not cool to have scabs all over her body. I ended up in the hospital, dehydrated and in immense pain. I was covered with pox everywhere, and I do mean everywhere. Poor DH was left to tend to the kids, and his mom could'nt remember if he had had them as a kid!

Okay guys, I need to get a vent off my chest. First off I want to tell you all I LOVE the Universal parks, I really do.

Now way back in 2005 a posted this thread; http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=875168.

Unfortunately things did not go as I was promised. When we went to use these tickets we were refused entry. I went to guest services & got to deal with a very unprofessional manager. Basically I was told that it was my choice not to have used those AP's and since I had tried to go in the park that one day with the back in 05 that our year was up. I had to buy new tickets for the 4 of us even though I had AP's that had never been activated. To top it off he refused to return the tickets to me so I can go no further with pursuing anything. They did know the person that had signed my voucher but siad she no longer worked there. So the great gesture on their part turned in to nothing. I had 4 ap's that I was never able to use. I realize that I did get tickets to use on our trip in 05 but they were supposed to have been given as compensation for my trouble.

This is the second time we have had trouble with tickets we have bought online through Universal. The pervious time we bought several tickets for a big family trip we were taking. 2 people ended up not getting to go so we had 2 tickets that had never been used. When we went back the following year and tried to use the tickets they said they were part of a group purchase that had been refunded and we bought them from that group. Well I personally purchasedthose tickets, through Universals website and never recieved any refund. So basically I have bought 4 AP's & 2 I think 7 day tickets that I was never able to use.

At this point I am having a hard time even consdering ever giving them any more business. It really did put a damper on that part of our trip. Can you guys help me out with getting past this so I can go back again in the future and enjoy my visit?

I hope I haven't upset anyone. I've just been really upset about it and need to get it out.
