I'm sorry Todd. I figured they came in just after the holidays not so many months later. I bet that is hard on you. Tell you what, next time we come for Christmas we'll have you come join us! Hopefully that will be next year!
Well thanks Lori...that's very sweet of you! :goodvibes

Tricia - Sounds to me like Brad was mad at himself once it came right down to it and he realized he had to get up for work and you were getting to sleep in! Sounds like something my dh would pull.

Here is the strange part... I know it wasn't on purpose. He really did somehow think that he was doing a good/nice thing. Trust me, I know when somebody does that kind of thing intentionally. I'm not deluding myself. He really thought that opening the blinds would somehow help me sleep in. :confused3

since i went to bed at 2 this morning, i couldn't get my butt out of bed to go shopping at 4 this morning.

i'll just pay full price later.........

hoping everyone has a great weekend.
lots of football and pizza, eh........

I shop the sales, I just shop them online. Most of the big retailers have free shipping deals on top of the sales.

My weekend is shaping up rather blah at the moment.

I am very very thankful that my bro and sil got the news of 5 fertilized eggs in the dish yesterday and 2-3 will be transferred on Saturday!!!!!

Hope everyone has a great day today.....GMombean took Kbean out for her first Black Friday experience :scared1: She is a shopper and this may be the beginning of her playing "elf" on Black Friday!!!

Tricia - did you throw something at him? That is something Jim would do as well....that and turn on the lights, let his alarm go off on purpose while he was in the shower, etc. Then laugh as he ran out the door to work

Woo Hoo! That is great news for your brother and SIL!!! I hope they are successful in that transfer and implant themselves like good little eggs!

I just gave him the glare. You know "the glare". He wasn't trying to be an idiot. He knew I was already unhappy with him for opening the office today and tomorrow, plus in my intoxicated state he got *ahem* very lucky last night... so he was trying to do something nice. How on God's green earth do you think opening the blinds to let sun shine on a sleeping person is a good thing? :confused3

Morning folks...I hope everyone had a great holiday!

Good to see you around Todd! I had a great holiday, but I am sure tired today...

Turns out, went to bed early...right in the middle of CSI, our power went out  ...for about 1.5 hours! :headache: Let me tell you....HAD I KNOWN, I would have made DH's lunch earlier last night..... You should have seen us...one holding the flashlight, the other pulling everything out of the fridge we needed at once...making sandwich and stuff via flashlight... :rotfl2: What a riot it was!!

And, sorta a shame...I was going to come back and post (because I forgot earlier) about "prepping the bird". I had just unpackaged the turkey and Bubba happened to be in the kitchen watching. I first pulled out the neck. He was like "Ewww...what's that?" Explained the neck and showed him the bone where it was cut off. Then, I drained the juices inside. Next, pulled out the, ahem, 'packaging' from the other end. His next reaction was "Ewwwww...why are you pullin' stuff out of it's butt?" :rotfl2: Explained those are the insides that have to come out. I then went to the fridge to get the butter to coat the bird and stick under the skin. (Now, my hands are a greasy mess by this point, so, sorry, no pictures.) I turn around, and low and behold I see my son standing at the bird with a flashlight peering into the rib cavity! :lmao: :lmao: He's standing there looking inside it saying "Mom! I can see it's ribs!" I just had to laugh....how amazed he was at this bird. I showed him the wings and legs....I guess when he's seen them (we live near a farm), he's not put 2 and 2 together I guess? :confused3 So was his lesson for the day!

Not going out shopping today....WILL go Monday...on CyberMonday :rotfl: How backwards am I???? :upsidedow

Too bad about the power... especially in the middle of one of your favorite shows. :sad2:

OMG! I can see Bubba exploring the turkey! At least he thought it was cool and wasn't grossed out when he made the connection.

Morning all :goodvibes

No- I did not go shopping- I have never been on black Friday. I always worked the day after. Only the last couple of years have I been off.

Yes- we are CSI Vegas junkies. I have alwasy had an extreme dislike of Sara. She is a whiney girly girl.
Hope the door hit her in the a$$ on the way out. :rolleyes1

now, my man Warrick on that show,,,,,ooooohhhh..
whatcha think Barb and Mac? is he hot or what?????

The Green Bay game was good. The Dallas game? well- the jets did not show up so.....

CAN ANYONE give me a rundown on the game at 8
someone on the Fox pregame made a comment about "the 13 people who will get to see that game in America....":rolleyes1
might walk the beach with DH and get some Chinese food.
will bundle up. only 33 here.

Oh, yes, Warrick is HOT! Yum.

The Falcons made a good showing for the first half. They led 10-0. The second half was brutal. Falcons lost. 13-31. If you want the rundown: http://www.atlantafalcons.com/News/Articles/2007/11/Indianapolis/Falcons_Colts_Game_Notes.aspx

cyber shopping is not a fad it is here to stay.

how many gifts /what percentage of gifts do you buy online?

A less than 20 percent maybe a couple of things

B maybe half the stuff you need 50 percent

C about 75 percent, just a trip or two out

D you have not left the house to walk into a store in so
long, you dont know where the stores are

I am C :surfweb:

I am C. Like I've said before, if you catch the early season online sales + free shipping, you can't beat it. Saves on time, gas, hassle, etc... at least for me. Of course, I live in the boonies. Driving to the closest Wal-Mart takes 30 mins. The closest mall is 30 mins away, but it is a small one. The closest big mall is an hour away. I'd much rather point and click my way through the process.

Yeah - nice greedy nfl network with have the games on Thursdays and Saturdays from here to the end of the season. I have a huge rant on that, but won't bore you all with the garbage that the NFL has become....:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 All I know is that in the beginning of the 2nd quarter, the Falcons were winning and I can get the stats in the newspaper when I sit down with it later.

Oh, lets all just get together and have a big trash session on the NFL, shall we? It should be fun... :rolleyes1

[/B]
sorry, he isn't even close to crazy yet..........and i do know crazy

i had that happen with the blinds and it was only one time.
mr mac is afraid of me and what i would do to him if he tried that blinds stunt ever again....:headache:

the one thing he still does and i choose to ignore it, is he makes his half of the bed when he gets up. so at 4:55 am each morning the bed is half made up.

he's borderline

Brad makes his side of the bed too. What is up with that? Sometimes I don't make my half up just because I know it'll freak him out. He never says anything, but he'll make my half up too if I leave it.

Okay, maybe he is not crazy. Quirky? Does quirky work?

I am the "up til 3am wrapping everything on Christmas Eve/Christmas morning" kinda homie :faint:

Makes for a very interesting LOOOOOOOOONG day.

So far, I've been able to do the wrapping before. Now, trying to sneak the presents up from the basement without getting caught... that has kept me up until the wee hours the past couple of years.

I haveta ask....how DO you guys wait last minute?? :confused3 Isn't traffic and crowds a nightmare??? All the 'pickin's' picked over? I could never do it.... I was 'harassing' Bubba in late September/early October for a list. He looked at me and very casually said, "I think I'll just email Santa Xmas Eve." I told him he couldn't do that....he would have already left and it'd be too late. So, he thought about it and said, "Umm, okay...I'll email him earlier in the week." :headache: So, I explained how he has to get his order in early cuz all the "good stuff" will be requested early. He came up with 2 things :guilty:

I sorta did that to my mom one year. I wrote my letter to Santa. Stuck it in the mailbox and raised the flag so the mailman picked it up and away it went... without her ever seeing it. She'd ask me what I wanted and I would tell her, "It's okay, I wrote everything to Santa. You'll see." I think I wanted her to be surprised or something. Anyway, my mom enlisted my older sisters and my brother to help her out. They would all casually ask me what was on my list until they finally had the answers and she could shop. Tough year for Mom.

Oh, and your signature is cut off in a most amusing way on my computer. The pickle is chopped off and missing his bottom third or so. He looks like he is... ummm... nevermind. There is no way to say it and not get in trouble.

I guess one of the good things about not having family here during Christmas is I get to go to the after Christmas sales and buy stuff then...hehe. :rolleyes1

Carol will be on chemo the week before Christmas, so we are planning to do our family thing the week after Christmas. I am going to be able to take advantage of those post-holiday sales too!

Did I do it?

Hard to catch up with you guys still posting while I'm trying to answer posts from 3 pages back.

I think ya dun real good :thumbsup2

I was laughing at what you did to your poor Mom that one Christmas...she was probably freaking out!!

I made chili for DH this morning....cut up a jalpeno pepper, and well, now my fingers are burning :sad2: He'd better enjoy that darn chili.... :rolleyes1

I found something online to buy this morning...had a special of 15% off..which, covered the shipping....so, I boughts it :thumbsup2 Another item to 'cross off the list'.

Feels like a Sunday (only DH isn't home)...but, I'm sure all that will change as I'm getting ready to go to work (with a pit stop by Mom's to take care of her dumb cat!)

Hope everyone enjoys the day :flower:

(btw...my sig doesn't look cut off to me :confused3 )

She was completely freaked out. She has told me many, many times about that year and her state of panic.

She is paying me back. She just asked if I would take her to Wal-Mart. Right now. 3pm on Black Friday. :sad2:

I think the signature thing has to do with the size of my monitor vs. the size of your monitor, maybe? Like yours is wider than mine, so the text gets crowded in and down and that pushes it below the "legal" DIS length now? I dunno. He just looks like a very happy pickle who is enjoying himself. :rolleyes1

(guess your Mom doesn't drive, huh? :confused3 )

I'm not sure...but would make sense. I check on my laptop and it looks good...also on DH's desktop monitor (19")....so, I'm not sure.....I do remember Marcie "adjusting" something so she could see the whole thing? :confused3 Either way, I'm glad you're enjoying my pickle, er rather, YOUR pickle that you loaned me  (& it says "Happy New Year" and "Merry Christmas" after it ;) )

 and :rotfl2:

(guess your Mom doesn't drive, huh? :confused3 )

She can drive, but she claims that she is unfamiliar with the roads around here and doesn't know how to get anywhere. Ummm... 'kay. She's been living here for a year, since Dad died. I think she is just uncomfortable going by herself. I dunno. :confused3

It turned out to be no big deal. Wal-Mart was a little crowded, but not overwhelmingly so. I would put it around an average Saturday afternoon or maybe a bit more, but it was easy enough in and out. What was surprisingly nice was that all the checkout lines were open, so it didn't take forever to pay. :woohoo:

mr mac and mr RVgal are type A personalities.

maybe borderline of Felix

Should we buy a plane ticket and fly over there and just start yelling, "GEMMA!" until our girl answers?

Here is the strange part... I know it wasn't on purpose. He really did somehow think that he was doing a good/nice thing. Trust me, I know when somebody does that kind of thing intentionally. Yes I do think we should fly over and find her! Are you ready to go?

All I can say about Brad and the shades then is :confused3!

Well we set a record high on Tuesday of 80 degrees and tonight it snowed! Anyone want to live here?!?:headache: Tricia your area sounds perfect to me. I would love to actually have seasons instead of 70 & 80 degree days followed by 30 & 40 degree days then back up to 70 & 80. :sad2:

Got a little more online shopping done tonight. Overstock dot com is having a free shipping deal sitewide, plus an additional 10% off all jewelry and watches.

Overstock price $24.99... at 10% more off $22.49. My sister will get the tri-colored gold bracelet. Original price tag $110... Overstock price $29.99... at 10% more off $26.99. :woohoo:

GONE.

Oh, that is TERRIBLE! What violation that is. Knowing someone was in your space and took your stuff! :headache:

Do the cops think it was kids just looking for the easy to grab and fence electronics? Doesn't matter. It sucks.

Sorry about that DM...that sux... I would think kids looking for stuff...that's all they took..."fun" stuff... Either for themselves OR to give as gifts.... Will your insurance cover it?

I hope so .........

IF anyone can ever break in here....let's just say they will hit the 'motherload' :rolleyes1

Tricia....sounds like you got some good deals :thumbsup2

Lori, how is granddaughter?

I don't have renter's insurance, and there was no damage to the house. Yes, the cop felt that it was kids, as they took stuff of Value.

The ONE day my dog is staying at my dad's house, BAM. Arghaehwatdrk ewrif dfjdsfkk

Hey everyone!

Hope everyone had a great and successful Black Friday!!

Awoke at 3:15 and was out the door by 3:30 am. Went to Kohl's, but fell short there. Headed over to JCPenney, Sears, Disney Store, etc.... only bought a dress at Penney's.

Headed to Michaels and got some ribbon and ornaments. Then went to swim practice. Came home and began putting up the Christmas decorations, but only got some of them done....so chilly outside!

DM: Sorry to hear about your stuff. :sad2:

I really wish I could address everyone individually, but the 4 hours of sleep are getting to me. Have a great night!!
