Something About Nothing..........#6

Hey Todd you never answerd the question I asked yesterday about the AP's of SW!!
I went back and found it. I wouldn't be cheaper because you would have to pay $12.00 to park each time you come back...and that would add up very quickly. With this pass, I don't pay for self parking.

I'm not a manly man (unless something drastic has changed since I last checked), but I grill.

The trick to ribs is low indirect heat, slow cooked, for a looooong time. Think 5-6 hours. I actually prefer to steam them. Put them on a rack in a pan. Sprinkle with whatever seasoning or rub you want (I like McCormicks Montreal Steak Seasoning). Put water in the pan, not deep enough to reach the rack. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and bake 275 for about 4 hours. Finish them on the grill for about 5 mins, with BBQ sauce if you want, to crisp the outside enough that they will hold together. You can also boil them for about 30 mins before grilling them for an hour or so.

Or you can do the really easy, but yummy, thing.

Buy a bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce (I like Sweet Baby Rays). Cut up ribs if they are in a rack. I usually by the country style ribs that are already in meaty individual ribs. Toss the ribs into a slow cooker. Pour the bottle of BBQ sauce on top. Cook on low for 8 hours.

No slow cooker? Do the same thing in your oven. Put the ribs in a shallow pan. Cover with sauce. Cover tightly. Bake at 250 for 6 hours.

Anytime you grill the ribs, you take the risk of them not getting tender. Even if you steam or boil them first. Boiling before grilling reduces the risk of tough ribs, but it doesn't eliminate it. The only sure way to get tender that I've found is the slow cooker (or baked) in sauce.

Hope that helps!

:thumbsup2 Now thats A good recipe(thats the way I do it)!!Dont make me come up there and do A Bobby Flay thro-Down!!:lmao:

But truthly thats the only way to get tender ribs.Indirect heat and time..
Then I finish it (when there done)with a good suace on hi direct heat too caralmize the suger in the suace!!:thumbsup2

Now I got one heck of a potatoe salad recipe!!I dont use relish..

Hey good news .My friend got his airboat running again and wants too do a night run!!:woohoo:
Be back later-maybe...

First rehearsal tonight. We now only have 4 men in the chorus and 6 women. And 9 lead roles. Very small production.

Tracie...some people just don't know how to respond to people. I provided some useful information for the OP. I got your back! :thumbsup2

:worship: Thanks, Todd.

:thumbsup2 Thanks to you too Donald - just kinda makes me NOT want to help someone out, you know?

Well...I'm going to read a while and then hit the sack. I'm going to Sea World in the morning to get my AP and I have lots to learn about the park.

todd - is this ur 1st venture to SW? it's on our short list this year, dropped the platinum plan @ WDW, just couldn't justify the $s:guilty: . Throwing in St Pete's for 2 nights & was thinking either BG on way back or SW, maybe both? Figure WDW is going to be soooo crowded the week pre 4th of July, might be best to just spend a few days there concentrating on fireworks (MK on 7/3 & Epcot on 7/4?) maybe we'll see u either @ U the weekend of 6/27 or WDW the following? St L will be @ U the 1st weekend too, not sure who else will be about thenpopcorn::

it hit 70 yesterday & going to 75 today:banana:

off to the ice show, then dinner @ jerome bettis' place:woohoo:

Happy Weekend everyone ...

Glad to hear most of you are enjoying warmer weather ... although it's warmer here for us (-2c/28f), we're getting snow today and even more snow is forecast for the next couple of days ... :sad2:

Actually my third visit but the second was two years ago. I just don't about going there since they don't have many thrills.

It was pretty busy today but the weather was beautiful!

I'll be around that weekend...I have some friends coming from Virginia that weekend...they aren't sure which parks they want to do so I'm hanging loose. We'll hook up that week somewhere.

OK...you guys have gotten to me. I could not control myself when it came to lunch today. Since so many of you take pictures of your food, I thought I would share what I had today at Sea World. It was only $13.66 with the AP discount! The sandwich was delicious but the potato salad was to die for!
