I have been diligent with my WW points for the last month. I initially I lost 3lbs in the first 10 days. Then I started exercising and gained the 3 lbs back. I kept up the exercises last week and again lost the 3 lbs (as of last Friday).....so I am back to square one. I would like to lose 9 lbs. (well now 10lbs.) by the end of summer, plus really tone up my jiggle.
By Monday I once again gained a pound back. And I am not cheating with my food either!
I have increased my exercise routine this past week and lately have been doing 2 DVD workouts each night, in addtion to toning and stretching.
My scale won't budge.....I can't lose the pound I gained let alone any add'l pounds.

I would welcome any and all suggestions!!

I would like to know also what I am doing wrong! I lost 10 pounds on WW last year, and since have gained it back. I have gone back to counting points, and the weight does not want to go back down! I am so frustrated! I also joined a gym at the beginning of March and have gone every day for about 45-60 minutes each time(either doing treadmill, arc trainer, or bike). It is extremely discouraging. Unfortunately, I do not have any more advice for you, but wanted to subscribe to this thread to see if anyone can help me as well! I am not overweight by any means(5'7" and 143 pounds). My BMI is fine, and I recently had some bloodwork done and my doctor said everything was perfect! So no thyroid issue. My sister told me about bee pollen granules, so I have started eating about 1 tsp a day of those, and I do notice that my cravings for sweets has decreased. It is also suppose to help your metabolism, and give you energy. I have only been taking it for 3 days, so I will give an update after I have been taking it for a while.

I would be interested in hearing how the bee pollen works. Maybe that's our problem tho.....I am 5'6" and 141lbs, and closing in on 50 yrs. old next year. I also have been on thyroid meds, since the age of 13....but get my levels checked every 6 months. My college age son says.....quit weighing yourself and keep up the good work. But, we all want that satisfaction of seeing the numbers go down on the scale... no matter how small. Is there such a thing as too much exercise........or does my body just need to get use to all the new activity I'm throwing at it????? Who knows????

Maybe some one out there can give us some answers?

Are your WW point static or do you vary them? Are they too low? Are you eating your Flex points?

You definately have to make sure you eat enough or your body goes into "Starvation mode". Just a thought?

WW says....to lose weight my pts. should be 18 and to maintain 22pts. I've been keeping my points around 18, somedays 19-20. I usually save my flex points for the weekend...for that random glass of wine or cube of cheese. I love cheese...but have even cut that lately. I have also cut my diet pop consumption to 1 per day....but I used to only drink maybe two a day anyways.

Try splitting your meals into 2 parts. I find that when I keep the portions the correct size and eat them as 2 meals it helps me get through things.

I'm glad you are not giving up! Also, check your measurements lately? You may be toning up and trading fat for muscle.

Keep on keepin' on.

:cheer2:

Welcome to my world! I, too, have a superglued scale...and have been doing WW and I run and exercise like a mad woman. I have about 12 pounds left to go.

Here is what I have found...and I am sure others will disagree...but this is what I have found to be true for me (and since we are in similar situations, this may work for you as well).

The last 10 pounds are the hardest to lose. No doubt. There is tons out there on internet about it. And my personal opinion (no flames please) is that WW is just not the right program if you only have a small amount of weight to lose AND you exercise a ton. There are just too many variables at play at this stage...flex points and activity points, etc. You have to try and juggle the number of points you eat each day (so that you are not doing the same amount every day)...and then, as you have found, if you juggle those points in the wrong way, you gain.

So if WW doesn't work, what does? Cutting calories. At the end of the day, it is still calories in vs. calories out. And (again, my opinion) is that much about "starvation mode" is a myth. You have to cut WAY WAY down to go into starvation mode...like half of your BMR. My suggestions are the following--

--go to 1200 cals per day. (Like you, I was on 18 for WW plus I used a few flex points here and there and found that I was actually eating close to 1900 per day! You are not going to lose weight on that...especially if you don't have much to lose).
--I suggest tracking those cals on either fitday or Sparkpeople
--Protein is President! With this level of activity, you need to eat about 100-130g of LEAN protein a day. That is a ton. And if you eat protein every 3 hours (key), then your body will learn that more protein will be delivered shortly, so it allows itself to get rid of the extra (and thus lose weight).

Hope this helps!

Some great advice!!!! I will try more protein and less carbs! I kind of agree that WW is a great program, if you have lots to lose. Like the OP, I am not overweight, my BMI is 22(which is normal), and I exercise like crazy also. When I originally lost those 10 pounds on WW, I was pretty much not eating much(mostly vegetables and fruit). I don't think my body was happy with being at that weight, even though I felt good. I did notice that I was tired a lot though, probably from not eating enough. I was about 137 or 138 before I had kids, and now about 143. 6 pounds is not a huge deal, especially since I am still of ideal weight. I think so many of us are obsessed with the scale and not looking at the whole picture! I know I weigh myself daily, which is probably too much. I get discouraged when I don't see the scale go down, but maybe my body is at it's set weight. Maybe one day I will realize that I need to be happy with what I have!:wizard: I will NEVER be a supermodel or be able to wear a size 2, but OH WELL!!!! There is more to life than that! I have a DH and 2 great kids and should be thankful for that. Just some more kind words for those of us struggling with getting down those last few pounds!!! :thumbsup2

I know this may not be true for everyone but this is what I've discovered about myself.

I lost 50 pounds last year by doing WW and simply walking on a treadmill 60 minutes a day and also mixing it up once in a while with a BL workout DVD. Over the winter I gained back about 12 pounds of the 50 I lost, and still need to lose about 30 more pounds total.

I decided to join a gym and go back to following WW. At first I was exercising like crazy almost daily and then I noticed my scale would hardly budge when I did that. It took me a few weeks to figure out, that for me at least, if I didn't exercise as much, maybe only 3-4 days a week for 45-50 minutes, the weight started coming off. I do have days that I exercise a little longer, like 65-70 minutes, but then typically take the next day slow and only do maybe 45 minutes or something.

It may not be the problem for everyone but it was something I discovered about my body and was actually kind of shocked by it. I had always been under the assumptin that the more you exercised the more weight you lost.

Good luck! :)

I realize that when I started my workout routines, it might affect my weight loss....and I never expected to increase the exercise as much as I have....but it makes me feel so darn good all over.

I agree that I need to modify my diet and fuel my body more, including adding protein.

But the good news is, I checked my measurements this morning and over the last 2 1/2 weeks I have lost....2in. in my waist, 1in. in my hips, and 1/2 in. in my bust. So at least if the scale won't move...the inches are coming off.:thumbsup2
Thank you all for your input, and I welcome any add'l suggestions! It's also glad to know I'm not alone out there!

Did h*ll freeeze over?????? My scale moved! I'm not willing to disclose the good results just yet, because I don't want to jinx myself but......I added more pts. to my diet, including more protein. And I cut back on my carbs, other than natural fruit and some whole grains. I'm still doing 1-2 workouts a night and have noticed quite a difference in my clothes.

I bought TheFirm, total body time crunch...and am excited to try it out tonight. Good luck all and keep the faith.:thumbsup2
