Wearing to MNSSHP???

We are trying to think of a family theme for our costumes, but everything we think of will probably be too hot....so, I'm hoping for some inspiration!!

Oh, that's easy.

The characters from "Mickey's Christmas Carol".

And the Ghost of Christmas Past:

Michael Eisner.

;)

How many people and what ages? One year my sister dressed as Fiona, her husband dressed as Shrek and their little boy dressed as Lord Farquat. I thought it was real cute when my neighbor dressed her little twin sons as Thing One and Thing Two and their daughter was dressed as the Cat in the Hat. I know they would be a big hit over at Universal...but I am sure you could come up with something similar Disney oriented. Maybe you could be Snow White and the others could be their favorite dwarves? Cruella and some cute dalmations? I like the idea of a family theme as opposed to everyone doing their own thing.

Last year DD was Aurora, I was Maleficent, and DH was Prince Philip.

It was fun to dress up, but it was hot.

This year we're just wearing Halloween t-shirts.

My very favorite family themed costume ever was at MNSSHP back in 2002...The little boy (5?) was Peter Pan, the mom was Capt Hook and the Dad was Tinkerbell...tights, wings, tutu and all! It was the funniest thing we saw all night...Mom was standing on Main Street talking to her son, while Dad stood there, immersed in the map, head tilted to the side, all decked out in pale green and clutching a wand in his hand with the map. :rotfl2:

I keep trying to talk DH into this, but so far no go. DS would be all for it, though!

OMG! That is too funny! I can't imagine DH dressing that way. I'm sure he'd think he was being a "girlie man" :rotfl2:

Great ideas, keep them coming. We are me, DH, DS (22), DS's Friend (21) and DS (7).

Not really sure, but some of our ideas are:

Pirates
Mousketeers
Princes and Princess'
Maybe just matching character shirts

I really don't want anything that will be too heavy or too bulky. There will be 6 of us -- me, DH, DD (3), DS (13 months), DMIL and DFIL.

We went in 2004. My DH dressed as Mickey Mouse. I was Minnie Mouse and our DD was Mini Minnie. The cutest thing was when we went into the candy store on Main Street, one of the CM's ran up to DD all excited and had DD sign an autograph book. :rotfl: My DD still talks about that!

Gee ... I've only just started thinking about it! But will probably dress the kids in costume and DH & I will wear matching halloween tshirts. I hate to be hot & bulky too. But then, it's six months away - how many times can I change my mind between now and then?

Back in 2001, myself, my sister, my mother and my niece went as M&M's. We weren't Disney themed, but we were themed. Was it awkward? Yes. Was it hot? A little. Is my family going to kill me for posting this? You betcha. But hey, if you can't laugh at yourself, then what's the point?

We are going as a basketball team. I have purchased some plain t-shirts to decorate with numbers and my sister's last name. I am going with her whole family, so I might put the name and then "alternate" underneath on mine. Then we will all have either tear-away pants or basketball shorts. I am also looking for a big basketball iron-on to put on the front. Hopefully this will not be too dorkey, but it is all the costume I could get my b-i-l to agree to.

I love reading what everyone is going to be wearing. Keep them coming!!

Love the basketball team idea! Might have to "borrow" that one! :rolleyes1

DH,DS and I are going to be pirates pirate: . We wanted DD to be Wendy, but she won't budge about being Ariel princess: . The girl is totally obsessed.

We thought pirate costumes might not be too bad in the heat.

Haven't decided yet-DH doesn't want to dress up :rolleyes1 but I might be able to get him to go as a Patriot's fan or something-:rotfl:
My girls want to be Disney princesses of course.
No idea yet while I'll wear! I knew I should have gotten that Cinderella costume on disneydirect.com last year on clearance!!! :rotfl:

Are you absolutely sure you got the right gender with the right costume?
