And I am not sure what I thought about it. It wasn't the crazy cheapo I was expecting for no-name things(ex chips were $2.50 and this week tostitos are 2 for $5 at my local supermarket)
But other things like eggs were- Milk though was WAY high at $3.39. Our local convience store charges only $2.89 for a gallon. So I skipped milk.

I spent $30 and got

Werther's carmels(mmmm)
Box of mini muffin packs
Box of gummies
Cheese cracker (cheezit kind)
aluminum foil
Cherry Juice
2 packages of eggs
Pound of butter
small box of boneless chicken bites
corn tortillas
2 boxes of mac and cheese
broccoli
shredded cheddar and jack cheese
box of brownie mix
Hot chocolate
Box of Cheese Sharks(Like goldfish but sharks)

3 bags worth of groceries. I guess that's good.

Wow, your prices are alot higher at your Aldi's. Ours charges .99-1.19 for chips, etc. Milk at mine today was $1.99 per gallon. I spent $30 there today and got quite a bit including a 20 pound bag of dog food. I really like Aldi's but when I first started shopping there a few years ago, it took me a while to get used to it (compared to Giant Eagle).

I agree! Your Aldi's is way more expensive than ours also. I can spend $30 at Aldi's for the same stuff I would spend about $65 or $70 at Meijer or Walmart. I always feel like I got a deal when I leave.

I got the distinct impression that the milk was a fluke because the "regulars" were appalled at the price of milk! And the chips were all sitting there -so clearly not a quick seller at those prices.

I will be giving it another chance if the kids like the snacks.

Milk in the Orlando area is $2 for skim milk. I don't usually buy the mini muffins but I did last time I was there. My son really liked those and for 1.99 a box, I might buy them again. It took me awhile to figure out what our family liked from Aldi.

That really is high for milk. Here it's 99 cents a gallon while eggs are 69 cents a dozen. They went up. They were 49 cents.

Western New York and Milk is like $1.79, Eggs $1.49, Chips are $1.19. Your prices seem really high compared to ours.

For real??? Those prices are amazing!!! Milk here is about $4 a gallon. :scared1:

Milk at my Aldi's is also over $3. I think in PA there is a min price for milk. I haven't seen under $3 a gallon in over a year.

I shop weekly at our Aldi's and here are some of our prices:

milk $0.99
eggs $0.49
Kettle chips $1.99
swiss rolls/brownies/"little debbie type items" $0.99
bag of 8-10 baseball size granny smith apples $1.49
apple juice juice pouches 10 in box $1.79
most condiments are $0.99

Chips at my Aldi are .99-1.19 like a previous poster heck Pringles there are only 1.19. Milk is 2.89 but it's over $5 is the regular store.

I may just fly to Texas to do some food shopping. I could save a bundle! Too bad milk and eggs are so perishable. :rotfl:

I shopped in a PA one. So I guess that's why the milk was high. But there were some good deals- my kids are liking the sharks so far and the gummies. I giggle about milk prices because I can walk to a dairy from my house- but they don't sell direct to public. I keep saying that would save me a bundle. I have even tried to "share" a milk cow there but they don't do that.

brand names at Aldi aren't cheap- only their store brands are.
our milk is 2.99 a gallon-eggs .95-1.55
bag of corn chips is .99,even the Dorito style
box of crackers maybe 1.19-
it much cheaper than general store prices, but sometimes you can hit a store sale and go cheaper, but that's iffy.

OMG! .99 for milk wowo! our milk is 3.39-3.42 abotu the same as gas. LOL

our eggs are .89 or .99 which is consistantly .50 less than the grocery store.

I haven't been to our Aldi's in awhile but I would do a pretty full shopping and spend 80 something. When I shop in the regular grocery store, I usually spend around 120 to 130. I won't buy certain things at Aldi's but the way my dkids and dh eat, I don't they really even taste the food! :rotfl: I have found some of their frozen items to be pretty awesome (like the individual chicken cordon bleu and their frozen fish) so when I'm over that way, I might stop in and grab a few things.

Those prices sound about the same as the Chicago area, except milk is $1.99. I can't imagine paying that much for milk at Aldi!

I find that shopping at Aldi's is still cheaper than prices at our regular grocery stores, but think that Aldi's prices have really risen in the last year or two. I guess everything goes up.

I'd love to be paying under $2 for milk! IIRC, I paid $3.39 last week.

Milk is 1.49 at the 2 Aldi locations in Lexington, KY.
Eggs have bounced around in price, but 1.29 was the last I saw.

I'm not the biggest Aldi fan since coupons and doubling make most items cheaper elsewhere, but the milk draws me in and I usually pick up a few other things while there.
