Green Bean Casserole is a classic Thanksgiving dish since 1955. Not everyone likes it though :sad2:
What is your opinion of this Thanksgiving staple?

For Me….I love it, but no one else loves it, so therefore we don‘t have it on Thanksgiving. It’s actually been years since I’ve had, which is a bummer for me. I could make it for myself, but that seems silly. Maybe one day I’ll have it again

LOVE it ! I’d make one just for myself it’s not that expensive you’re only had a couple cans of green beans some fried onions by the cheap ones they’re all the same in a can of cream of mushroom soup splurge and enjoy yourself because it’s delicious! Treat yourself you deserve it❤️

I don't care for it at all, but my husband does and it doesn't seem like Thanksgiving without it on the table!
Slo - you should make yourself some! Who cares if you are the only one who eats it!

It's my husband's favorite and it's what he brings to turkey day. I don't hate it, I just think it's flavorless and sloppy. So, I'll have my annual bites.

My DH loves it but I don't like it. My sister makes it for her family and always brings a bowl over for DH. :)

I like green bean casserole, but DH and the kids love it. Any time we have a roast, they want it. So yes it will be on the Thanksgiving menu.

I love it! I'd never had it until I went to T-giving at DH's mom's house in 1987. Now? I make it as a side dish every few months.

Funny story... We were going to a T-giving dinner at a friend's home. She'd asked someone to bring green bean casserole. Turns out the person is quite the home chef, so she 'elevated" the recipe, made cream sauce with diced mushrooms instead of using canned soup, used steamed fresh green beans, fried fresh onions for the topping. I have never seen so much leftover green bean casserole in my life! I guess people like what they like, and the DON'T like their green bean casserole messed with!

I love it, my wife hates it and refuses to make it for Thanksgiving. It's the one thing my mother is allowed to bring for Thanksgiving.

I’d be one of those leaving it behind. I am such a non-foodie, I’d walk away from a free dinner at Victoria and Albert still hungry.

Never liked it growing up and many of our relatives made their version of it. The great thing at Thanksgiving is there are usually several side dishes so you can just pick the ones you like and no one is going to notice what you skipped !!!

I love it but no one else in my family can eat it so I only get to have it when invited somewhere and they serve it which is not very often.

Make it anyway. You can do a smaller version. We have it with ham steaks for supper sometimes. My husband doesn’t love green beans and I don’t care for mushrooms but the combination in this dish works. We add a lot of grated parmesan to it.

I love it, but DH hates it and green beans, so it's never made here, unless I want the whole pan. but we're having it tomorrow!! MIL and FIL both like it, so yay!

I had to vote Other because I've never had green bean casserole. It was just never a part of our family tradition.

We’ve made it a couple of times and everyone just eats the crispy onions and leaves behind the beans. I went back to our traditional green beans cooked in bacon grease and they get devoured. So I stopped bothering with the casserole. Maybe it would be different if it had been a family tradition from either of our childhoods?
