My sister doesn't post on the DIS but wanted me to forward her thoughts on her recent stay there.
Her and her two boys (9 and 13) stayed in the Casitas at Coronado Springs. Their room wasn't ready when the arrived (they got in around 9:30am to the resort) but when it was ready they were placed in the Casitas. She really liked the location as it was close to everything. The kids loved the arcade (naturally) and the Mayan temple pool. My sister loved the hammocks.
The only thing she didn't like was she thought the hotel wasn't a 3-star hotel in her opinion. Expedia rated it as three stars (so she said). I recommended CSR to her given her budget and I didn't recommend the All-Stars to her as Pop was full. After visiting my daughter and I at the AKL, she thought CSR was 'okay' but would have preferred something like the AKL. And after visiting the Poly with us, now it's either the Polynesian or nothing else. LOL!
That aside, they did enjoy their stay. My nephew was chosen on Christmas Eve to light the Christmas tree! On their arrival day he was tossing coins into the fountain when a CM asked him where his mother was. He thought he was in big trouble but turns out the CM wanted to ask his mother permission for him to be the one to light the resort christmas tree! After the ceremony, they sent up balloons and the photo taken in a frame up to my sister's room.
The kids thought the resort was awesome! Not the Polynesian but still they thought it was great.
Much thanks to Buzz for his site!
