We are going in March and have never been to a signature restaurant. We will be celebrating my husbands birthday. Any suggestions? We are staying on property and will have the dining plan. We don't mind using 2. Table service credits for one meal. Our first night we are arriving too late for dinner anyways so we will have an extra meal from that day.

Thank you so much! That is so nice of you. I will let my daughters know. My older DD is a college sophomore this year and just started in Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism this year. My younger daughter is a freshman and is hoping to go too. They are going to speak to their advisers about it this year. If they do have questions - should they email you from this site or your facebook page?

My three favorite restaurants on property are:

California Grill (Old new reservation on September 21st): Fantastic Views great Sushi and great flatbreads

Flying Fish: whimsical atmosphere great apps especially the Mussels : the NY Strip and the Red Snapper are both great entrees : Banana Napolian may be best dessert on property!

Jiko: Very refined upscale atmosphere open kitchen: best apps ANYWHERE!! Filet with mac and cheese is good

All three would be perfect choices :thumbsup2

My favorite signatures are: Narcoosees, Cali Grill and Flying Fish.

I love Narcoossees and Cali Grill for watching Wishes during dinner. It's the best!!! :)

We've also been to Artist Point a couple of times and it was excellent too.

We are staying at AKV in November and going to Boma. I have never been to Jiko - will put that on our list to consider too!

We are very fortunate to say that we are staying at BLT in November. One of my favorite things about it is being able to watch Wishes from the lounge on top. We invited friends to go with us and they are ecstatic about it. We stayed there about 4 years ago and I have been wanting to go back ever since! Watching from Cali Grill sounds great too! Thanks for the input - we will consider all three. :)

NP. By the way, we celebrated my B-day at both Cali Grill and Narcoossees. They were both really great!!
We will be celebrating my DH's b-day at Cali Grill in December. I'm ordering him a specialty cake. Can't wait!! :)
So I think celebrating a b-day is always better w/ fireworks.... Just sayin. Lol ;)

I've dined at all of them many times. My current ranking, on the dining plan are:

Flying Fish, Citricos, Jiko, Brown Derby, Ca Grill, Monsieur Paul, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Artist Point, Narcoosees, Le Cellier, Fultons. Ca Grill is based on old menu--have not been this week since it reopened.

My kids (young adults) and grandkids would probably pick Jiko, Ca Grill and Brown Derby as their top 3. They like the restaurants with a little more "fun" atmosphere.

Actually, they would pick Hoop De Doo as their first choice for 2 credit dining. :rotfl:

I noticed in your signature line "our condo". We are thinking of looking for a condo too. Our dream is to buy a condo, retire early and live and work at WDW for a few months a year. :)

And yes, a b-day with fireworks sounds FAB!

That is funny - actually one of my daughters was asking about Hoop De Doo. We have never been to that either....

Yes we just got the condo. this year. It's really more for my DH's job. He works half home half in FL. He really has it made. It was just a total bonus that it was a half hour away from Disney, so now we have a vacation/retirement home. We were planning on moving as soon as our kids were out of H.S. and yes I'm planning on working in Disney too. ;)
It has been a life changing experience. And the best thing we ever did!!

How wonderful for you!!!! I want to wait until our kids are out of college though- well maybe not that long...who knows.

Location, location, location.

There are many Signatures at the Monorail line resorts.

If you are staying at Bay Lake, CA Grill is a no-brainer.

Take a look at that menu, if you are steak-n-potato people, it might not be your best choice. But in my opinion, for a special occasion, CA Grill is excellent.

I will add, Victoria & Albert is also special, albeit, without the view of the fireworks....jacket required for gentlemen....

On the other end of the spectrum, Ohana has fireworks with all-you-can-eat brought to you on skewers....and a floor show as well.

While not my favorite Signature, Citrico's is a lovely choice with food that is a bit more straight forward. The shops and music in Grand Floridian are simply charming.
