Right now I can get $78 each way per person, thats $397.60 round trip for two adults with taxes and everything. Should I just book now or wait till I see a good DING? We're going Jan. 7-14, When will southwest have Dings for Jan.? I've only seen up untill Dec. so far.

I got a fare for us going to Tampa thru DING for 39 each way. This weekend, they had a new fare going to Orlando. I cancelled the one to Tampa and booked the one for Orlando using my credit from the original. The difference was only 13.00 total for all three tickets.

So depending on how comfortable you are, go ahead and book this fare then watch for a better one. If it comes thru, you can rebook and use the credit. If not, you may be kicking yourself for letting this go and you be stuck with a much bigger cost.

How would you cancel and use the credit? I'm not sure how to do that? I didn't know you could do that.

I've done this twice in the last couple weeks, thanks to some great advice I got here. You go into Southwest then into travel center, and about the 5th option down is change reservation. You select the parts you want to change, then continue and it gives you the new flights to choose from. Then you can continue and see your "new" total, and they'll apply it to the funds you paid with the original flight. They gave me the option of a refund or credits toward future travel, even though I had purchased low internet fares! HTH
Good luck with those fares!!

Just want to say that I agree with the advice you're getting here. Book now and if a DING comes around rebook. You'll get a credit with the extra money. Plus, you know you'll have a decent fare for a flight right now. $160rt from our area is a really good fare.

Since you guys seem to be experts with SW, what does it mean when it say:
"Ticketless travel must be purchased at the time of booking." and
"Seats are limited and won't be available on some flights that operate during very busy travel times and holiday periods. "
Is there another cost on top of your fare, taxes and fees?
Is there a chance that there will not be a seat for us?

They ding(ed) fares from Bflo to MCO back on 10/9- $39 each way. It was good for travel thru Feb 5. They have not Ding(ed) those fares again since 10/9 because I have been watching for some family members who have decided to go. They may Ding them again though- keep watching. Jan. is usually a pretty inexpensive month to fly Bflo to MCO. We went 2nd wk. in Jan last yr and had $29 flights each way. Of course if you book now and the lower fares become avail., just cancel and apply your funds toward the new purchase. The remaining funds will be held in your acct. for 1 year from the date of purchase. Good luck!

DannyDisneyFreak: I'm no expert on SW, but it does sound like you have a good fare there. Good luck with your booking, and then keep an eye out for DINGs. Also, since I saw you were from Niagra Falls, NY why don't you subscribe to our Upstate/Western NY thread too. We'll keep an eye out on airfares and let you know if SW has a DING from Buffalo.

DannyDisneyFreak- not sure if you're still looking or not (or maybe this is a better deal if you re-book??) Hurry- you have until 7:30 PM (our time) Good luck!

Check Southwest now, I checked today and the interenet special from Philly was $49 in January. :Pinkbounc
