Shirley's baskets

I remember seeing a month or so ago a thread about baskets done by Shirley. Can anyone tell me more about her baskets or any other baskets that can be ordered for my boys? I know Disney does some, but are there others? My youngest son will turn 7 while on the ship, and I want to do something special for him and my oldest son since this is our first cruise ever!! Thanks!

Shirley has cruise baskets shown on her web site. She will also customize them for you, letting you pick and choose what should go in the baskets.

I have ordered from her before, and I can tell you the baskets far exceeded what i expected from past experiences ordering from other places.

What is the time frame for ordering baskets? How far in advance?

I think you can order pretty close to your cruise. If you want something that Shirley wouldn't have on hand then I would give her a week to ten days to get it rounded up.

I have ordered baskets for my ds from Shirley for our last 2 cruises and will do so again for our 3rd cruise this may. My ds was 3 when he first started cruising and will now be 5. I've ordered a Mickey backpack basket from Shirley with lots of treats and stuff.... He enjoyed that very much... I also ordered him a basket with Mickey and Minnie puppets and he enjoyed that as well... Last year, Shirley recommended to add "glow sticks" to the basket for the evening deck parties. My ds loved those so much! And of course, we always have her put in bubbles for the sail away! She always does a great job!

Shirley is great! I ordered gifts from her for our cruise over New Year's Eve. My kids are 6, 3 and 19 months. I did three separate sand buckets (different sizes) with shovels and she filled them with wonderful stuff. Snacks, candy, crackers, apple juice, Sprite, books, a Minnie Mouse for the baby, and underwater cameras for the boys (they loved taking their own pictures).

I highly recommend ordering baskets/gifts from her. She does a great job finding the items you want.

Does she bring them to your room like Disney does or do you have to pick them up somewhere and bring it to the ship yourself?

She delivers them to the ship. Your Stateroom Host brings them to your room. They ususally are in your room when you arrive. Ours arrived about a half hour after we were in the cabin. It was a surprise for my husband's birthday so I was a little worried until it arrived.

I communicated with Shirley via e-mail. It was easier for me to put my ideas in writing. It took only a couple of days for her to respond and she has been very helpful.

We have used Shirley's A Perfect Gift http://www.theperfectgift.cc/ twice and plan to use her again for the kids's Easter baskets. You will be very pleased with anything you order from her. I have ordered a bottle of wine to be delivered to our friends cabin just 2 days before their cruise and Shirley made it happen. I have never seen any negative comments about her products on the boards.

As for placing orders, we have always called her on her toll-free number. She is usually the one that answers the phone. I believe she does deliver to the other cruise lines at PC.
