Shipping purchases home

When you shop do the stores offer right there to ship home? What options do we have? I thought I read something about Amazon shipping but I have never did that.

It's been years since we shipped things home from Disney, so I can't vouch for today's service.

Wonderful service back then. Everything was securely cushioned and boxed. One thing we shipped was a delicate Japanese teapot and cups so were delighted it arrived well-packed.

The bonus was that our items almost beat us home. They arrived by UPS the next day.

This service is still in place. I don't think Disney is currently offering shipping via air, only ground shipping.

You can ask at the register for them to ship your item home for you. You will fill out a form and pay the shipping fee. The CM will put your item aside and have it shipped out.

Alternatively, you can shop throughout your trip, take all of your items (along with all of the receipts) to your hotel gift shop and bundle it all together and ship from there. This is what we usually do.

Yup we have always ship any art we have bought. Always comes packaged perfect.

I hope there is something nice for our next trip coming up! Haven’t bought a new piece in a few years.

How recent have you done this? I'm going in a few weeks and I never knew this was an option. I thought you had to ship at the time of purchase.

Just did it recently. Also, if you buy several things, most of the parks have one or two shops that ship. For example, at Hollywood studios, the droid depot will ship all your HS purchases together with a receipt Including your savi’s purchases.

In June, I hauled my considerable souvenirs (and receipts) into the POFQ gift shop - paid $35 to have them sent home to Chicagoland area - my huge box arrived 5 days later. Worth every penny.

I did this as recently as April of this year (2022).

I had two items from Disney Springs that I bought on two different days, and two items from the Emporium at MK. I brought all four items and my three receipts down to the gift shop in the Wilderness Lodge on the last day of my trip. I asked them to ship everything home, showed my receipts, filled out one form, paid for the shipping and walked away. My stuff showed up about four days after I returned home.

This is wonderful news. I'm planning to buy some art at Festival of the Arts next year and would love to just pack a carry-on and not worry about needing a larger suitcase.

I'm sure the price varies based on weight and size, but does anyone have an example of what they sent and how much it was? I'm just curious.

I sent home 4 heavy pasta bowls, Christmas ornament, hand soap pump, and a jungle cruise game, also heavy. It was around twenty dollars and well spent! I wasn't aware that shipping from multiple shops had returned. I specifically bought everything at one trip to hotel gift shop. I would be careful there although it sounds like its working.

Thanks for this. I may stop by my resort gift shop and ask them to be sure before I bring them everything back and ship together. I'll also ask the booths at the festival and see which is a better option. It would be $60 for a checked bag round trip, so as long as I spend less than that in shipping, it seems like a better deal than lugging it back home myself.

Also note that if you do have Disney ship it for you and anything gets damaged they will replace it free of charge if the item is still available. That alone might be worth it for some people instead of bringing the purchase home yourself where it could get damaged outside of your own control and you'd be out of luck.

This is super important and I am glad someone said it. I sent those pasta bowls through Disney partly to make sure they made it! I wouldn't have purchased if i had to carry them.

I held a Droid head and lightsaber all the way home one trip. Never again. Always ship! I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the cost and it will be cheaper and easier than a checked bag that could dissappear, get soaked, or thrown around and damage your purchases.

Very good points. Sounds like they want to make sure limited packing space isn't an excuse for people to stop buying things. :) I always assumed it would be cost prohibitive, so I never inquired about it. Thanks for all your suggestions and input! I'm fairly well convinced.

Last time I went to the festival, the canvas print I bought came in a cardboard box, and my oversized suitcase was able to fit it. Then the prints went on top, which kept them from bending. Clothing and everything else filled in the cracks. It worked fairly well, but I hate lugging that huge thing when I don't have to.

Silly question.....would WDW allow me to use my own UPS Account # instead of theirs if shipping goods from there to my home?
