Sharon's Journal -150 here I come!

Hi Sharon,

I agree with Beth. I think that at some point in our lives, we will have to deal with emotional eating, but think about what a great job that you did getting back OP for the weekend! That is wonderful, Sharon!!!!:Pinkbounc

I hope that everything is okay with your DD. Parenting can be a challenge at times. Lord knows I know that and my kids are only 3 and 2.;) :earseek:

Sharon, I hope you have a fabulous week this week! Take good care of you!

Tracy:wave2:

Yes Tracy, all is well with my DD. She is 11 (12 next month) and we are starting that premenstruation cr%*. She has also always been a child who doesn't share too much with me. The more I try, the quieter she gets. So I struggle constantly to find out what is going on in her mind that causes her to make the decisions she makes. After stressing about it all last week, we came up with a solution to her dilemma that made her very happy. It was a very simple solution, if she would have just told me what was bothering her to begin with......... Oh well, I just keep trying!

Yesterday went well. I got to Curves to exercise. the food was:

B - fat free corn muffin 4 pts
L - yogurt with granola 4 pts, Wendys chicken strips 6 pts
D - 5 oz lean steak 7 pts
S - popcorn 4 pts

I was on track pts wise (used 25 pts of 24 pts, but I also earned activity pts). However, I need to concentrate on getting more fruits, veggies and dairy in my diet. Weighin today had me up 1/2 lb. I know it is because of last Thurs, but I am still a little disappointed. If I can get more of the fruits and veggies in, I think I would do better. I will continue trying.

Goals:
1) no cheat 11/12
2) vitamin 12/12
3) water 11/12
4) exercise 4/12

I plan to go to Curves again Thurs after work and Fri morning. That would keep me right on track to meet my monthly goal!:teeth:

Thanks again for all the support you guys give. You are great! :grouphug:

Note to self - next months goals should have something to do with the fruits and veggies requirements!

Hi Sharon,

Have you ever thought about getting DD a journal? You would have to promise not to read it, but having a journal where she can express her feelings might help. Think how much each of us has benefitted from out journals. I kept one as a teen, and just seeing things in writing sometimes made me realize how ridiculous my traumas were. Just a thought.

Great job being OP. I know you'll get that extra 1/2 pound off. Keep in mind that you are building muscle. You'll be amazed when they measure you at Curves.

Take care,
Beth

Beth - DD has tons of journals, diaries, etc. She doesn't keep up with them though. Maybe I'll suggest it to her as a way to sort out her feelings though. :(

Yesterday DD had her private dance lesson. She is doing a really cute jazz number to a caribbean song called "Short Pants". She will compete that as a solo this winter/spring. Anyhow, we were discussing her costume and what it should look like. After I left the dance teacher, I asked her if she would like to design her costume. She said "REALLY? I could do that?" :teeth: It was such a small thing, but it got her so excited! I was so happy to see her like that! I told her I couldn't promise anything, but we would take her sketch to the costume desinger. I'll keep ya posted on that! :hyper:

Foodwise, yesterday was NOT good. I made good choices, but ate way too much! Portion size IS important! I am not happy with myself about that! I will do better today!

Yesterday:
B - fat free corn muffin 4 pts
L- subway club (ate the WHOLE 12 inches! ) 12 pts
D - Cheese sticks 10 pts
S - yogurt 4 pts, swedish fish 3 pts

Goals:
1) No cheating 11/13
2) Vitamin 13/13
3) water 12/13
4) exercise 4/12

I have my clothes with me to go to Curves after work. And I brought lunch with me, so portion sizes will be better today.

We are going away for the weekend to Lake George, NY. We are going with my inlaws. 2 condos, 8 adults and 6 kids. It should be lots of fun. I am planning to stay OP as much as possible. Breakfast will probably be bad, but I think I can do okay for lunch/dinner. I am going to really try to stay within my points. So tomorrow, its drop the kids at school, run to Curves, home to pack and do laundry. Pick the kids up from school about 11:45 AM and we hope to be on the road by 1:00 PM. Won't be able to check in again till Monday, so I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

 Hi Sharon,
I hope you have a fabulous weekend at the lake :sunny: !

Sharon, hope your weekend at the lake is wonderful!! I bet the leaves are beautiful there right about now. They're just starting to turn here at the southern end of PA.

Your goals for the month look great and you are doing a fantastic job of meeting them! I just know you'll see results when you get weighed and measured at Curves next month! Don't forget that the tape measure often tells more than the scale! ::yes::

Hi Sharon,

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Beth

Thanks everyone! We had a WONDERFUL weekend! The leaves were gorgeous and the family time was ideal. Truly had a great time!:teeth:

I was pretty disappointed when I stepped on the scale this AM. :( I was fairly good this weekend - really thought about what I was eating and didn't go too overboard. No, I was not OP, but I tried to make smart choices. The scale said I gained 3.5 lbs!!! The part that really gets to me is that it will probably take me two weeks to get back to where I was. It just seems so unfair to me!!

Well, back I am! I am putting all 3 days down as cheat days. I think that only leaves me with 1 for the rest of the month! :o Guess I better get my but in gear and stay OP!

Goals:
1) Cheat free 12/17
2) Vitamins 17/17 - I remembered to pack them!!
3) Water 14/17 - too cold to drink a lot of water cuz we were outside all day!
4) exercise 6/12 - I am doing better with exercise than last spring, but I still need to improve

I have yogurt with me today for breakfast/snack, soup for lunch. I am not sure what I will do for dinner yet. i will also go to Curves today to try and get back on track.

Have a great Monday!

Hi Sharon!

I'm glad to hear that you had a WONDERFUL weekend!:sunny: I'm sorry that the scale didn't cooperate this morning. If it doesn't cooperate at your next weigh-in, your WISH friends will give it a great big kick for you!::yes:: ;)

Have a great Monday!

Tracy:wave2:

Sharon, that silly scale is probably registering a lot of water weight - I think you'll see it disappear pretty quickly if you get back OP. ::yes::

Hang in there! You'll be back in the groove today! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Hi Sharon,

I think Doe is right. Push the water for the next couple of days, and I bet those pounds dissappear. When do you get measured at Curves? That bit about muscle weighing more than fat is true.
Beth

:wave2: Hi Sharon,
I have to agree that pushing the water will help those extra pounds whooooosh right away for you :) . I have pretty much abandoned my scale since it was really hard on me emotionally to watch it go up and down, up and down so drastically.

I'm glad you had a nice weekend at Lake George. Hope you have a fabulous Tuesday :sunny: !

I TRULY hope you guys are right and it is water weight that will just whoooosh away, but I'm not holding my breath. :( Past experience tells me I'll have to work hard to get rid of it again!

Yesterday went okay. It wasn't good but it wasn't bad. I had planned to get to Curves, but too much was going on at work and I didn't make it. Food choices were good throughout the day, but I crashed a little when I got home. I allowed myself to get too hungry before dinner. I should have planned an OP snack in the afternoon since I knew it would be a late dinner. I need to learn from this mistake and not repeat it next Monday!;)

Goals:
1) Cheat Free 13/18
2) Vitamins 18/18
3) Water 15/18
4) Exercise 6/12

I am definitely going to Curves after work. Have a big salad planned for dinner complete with chicken. I will stay OP tonight!!

Hope everyone had a nice day!

Do we need to have a scale kicking party! :bounce: I haven't been to one of those in awhile.

Ya know what Sharon water weight or not you know what to do. You know how to kick that scale back into shape.

1. Drink some water
2. Exercise

I just found out that my cousin has been going to curves - she looks awesome! I think sometimes the results take a little longer since the workouts are so short - but the results are there! My cousin hasn't looked this great in years!

Keep it up, keep plugging your system and you know that scale will shape up soon enough!

~Amanda

Try and not worry about the water weight. I go up and down on the scale so much that it is depressing if I really focus on it. Even though I am up on the scale I just had my class reunion picture done and my face looks smaller. Keep hitting curves and you will see results.

Yeah, well you have to GO to Curves so it will work!!! DOHHH! Sometimes I just get so mad at myself!! As you probably guessed, I didn't go to Curves last night. Got held up at work and ended up staying here an extra hour. By then it was time to go home to relieve the babysitter. So I will try AGAIN tonight. I really, really need to make it there today. If I go today, tomorrow and Friday, I can still make my goal of 3 times this week. No more excuses!!

Food was okay again yesterday. I kind of let the no exercise turn into a pitty party and didn't do a salad for dinner. I picked instead. Stayed within my points, but I am not happy with that choice. :o I had a salad for lunch today, so I can't let myself down again tonight!!:teeth:

Goals:
1) No cheat - hmmm, I guess technically not so 14/19
2) Vitamins 19/19
3) Water 16/19
4) Exercise 6/12 - I've been stuck at that number for almost a week!

I read AprilN's journal today. If that isn't inspiring, I don't know what is!::yes:: I can't come close to her exercise routine, but I can certainly do better with mine! And hopefully it will be just the ticket to get this scale to move as well! I have a renewed determination to make it work this time!

Onward and downward my WISH friends!!

Sharon :sunny:

I have made a very conscious effort to increase my water today. Have made a few *extra* trips to the ladies room to confirm this! ;) And so far today, no goof ups with the food! :hyper:

Don't ya just love all those extra restroom trips  ? Hey, at least you know you are doing your job in the water department ::yes:: .

Have a great night :wave2: !

Hi Sharon:wave:

Guess what??? All of those extra trips to the bathroom are considered exercise!:Pinkbounc Woohoo!;) :teeth:

Hope you have a wonderful, OP evening. Take care!

Tracy:wave2:

Hi Sharon,

Don't be so hard on yourself, sweetie. As you said, you can still make your goal this week. Great job pushing the water. I hope you managed to get out of work on time tonight and made it to Curves.

Take care,
Beth
