Sharon's Journal -150 here I come!

Hi Everyone! I went to a meeting this AM for work, so I haven't been around today. The meeting included breakfast and lunch. I think I made good choices. Stayed away from the pastries and carbs, kept to the veggies, fruit and meats. I hope the sauces for the meat didn't do too much damage. :o

Goalwise, I didn't get my veggies in yesterday. I had great plans for pasta primavera for dinner, but that didn't happen. :( I am there already for today, plus I'm having that pasta primavera tonight!

Goals:
1) Cheat Free 3/3
2) Exercise 1/12
3) Veggies 2/3

I realized yesterday that this veggie goal is going to be very difficult for me. My busy lifestyle is not conducive to cooking dinner every night. Therefore dinner does not tend to be well balanced. I am hoping though that by working on this area of my life I can improve and make it more of a habit as I did with the water and vitamins. I will try at least! ::yes::

I have my clothes with me for Curves tonight, so I have high hopes of meeting all 3 goals for today!!

Have a nice evening!

Geety - we are trying to coordinate a trip with my SIL and BIL. Unfortunately, their kids are much younger than mine, so there will be no "egging them on." Besides, we've tried that too and it doesn't work!

Hi Sharon,

You have the right idea with the veggies. make it a habit. Unfortunately, it won't happen overnight. You are doing a great job with it.::yes::

I hope you got a great workout in tonight, and are ready for the pasta.

Take care,
Beth

Hi Sharon,

Thanks for the get well wishes. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Tracy:wave:

Rats! Sorry that doesn't work for you. Just one other idea but it can get expensive. We have done this but mainly because my son *could* ride a new ride (because he was tall enough) or my daughter was brave enough to try a new ride, we would get them a pin for that ride. DS was *sooo* excited when he was finally tall enough to do Space Mtn, so he has a pin from that. DD was afraid of Tower of Terror for a while, so when she finally got the nerve to ride, we got her a ToT pin. How many pins do you feel like getting? ;) :p

I think the veggie goal is hard for everyone! Just keep trying and you will get there! :bounce:

:wave2: Hi Sharon,
As far as taking the kids again, I would give it one more shot. Believe it or not, I don't like rides either. But, Disney rides (and Universal but don't tell anyone I said that ;) ) are a big exception. They are more of experiences than rides. You won't find me at Six Flags ever but Disney World is in a league all it's own. And there are plenty of rides that aren't scary (I don't like scary either).
Maybe do a land/sea package with DCL?

That's my two cents anyway :teeth: ! Hope you have a great day :sunny: !

Hi Sharon,

I'm just dropping b to say hi. I hope you are having a great weekend.
Beth

Okay - I'm back everyone! Friday I did some MAJOR cleaning at home - which DESPARATELY needed to get done. I have LOTS more to do, but I feel good that I got SOMETHING accomplished anyways.
Sat I took DD and DM to NYC. This Thursday is DD and My Bdays. Yes, DD was born on my BDay! ::yes:: Not planned - never even considered it would happen, but she was 2 weeks late! Anyhow, we took her to see 42nd Street. Wow! We really enjoyed that one. It is the 3rd Broadway play we've seen and it was our favorite so far!:teeth: We also went shopping in Chinatown - got lots of good bargains there! Ate while there as well. Then did some walking after the play. What a wonderful day it was all around!
Sun I took DS to see The Incredibles (since he got left out of the trip to NYC!) Also got some more cleaning done and of course - MORE laundry! Does the laundry ever get DONE???!!!

Foodwise, I was "pretty" good. The only bad stuff was the candy we got for the Theatre Sat. Then of course I took the leftover candy with me to the movies yesterday..... But other than that, I stayed OP, got my veggies in, did okay.

However, I'm feeling a little negative today. I started Curves at the end of Sept. I also recommitted to WW at that time. I have been doing a pretty good job with both, but I had really hoped to see more progress by now. I guess because of the Bday on Thursday, I wanted to be further along. Yes, I lost 6 inches (or so they say  ), but my scale just keeps hovering at the same couple of lbs - 177, 178, 179. And the WORST part is that my clothes don't fit ANY different. It was JUST as hard to zip my jeans this AM as it was at the end of Sept!!! Maybe because this Bday is a big one - the big 4-0 - that I am feeling so negative. I am still determined, but feeling a little let down. i had hoped to be in the next size down by Christmas at least. I haven't made any progress in that department. :( I started WW last Dec 15th. It looks like I will be exactly where I was a year ago when that anniversary comes up! How utterly disappointing!:guilty:

I am still committed to lose these extra lbs and inches, but I am at a loss as to how I am going to do that! Sorry for the pity party, but I had to get that off my chest this AM!

Goals:
1) cheat free - 6/7
2) exercise - 2/12
3) veggies - 6/7

I'm doing better than I expected with the veggies. I am making good choices and getting those in!:teeth: i went to Curves Friday morning, so I'm 2 for 12 so far. The plan to go there this week is Tues, Thur, Friday. I am off from work Thursday because it is Veterans Day, so I will go to Curves in the AM. I HAVE to go all 3 times this week! With the extra day off from work, there is just NO excuse not to go 3 times!!!::yes::

That's it for today. I hope you all have a great Monday! The :sunny: is shing here and it looks beautiful! Enjoy!

 Sharon,

I know that lack of results has been frustrating you. You are much more than those numbers. You have done so many postive things for your health this year. You are exercising consistanly, getting your water in, eating healthy, and you are even eating veggies!!

I wish I had the answers. I could use some myself. Just know that you are not alone, and we will listen to your troubles and support you regardless what the scale says.

I'm glad you had a great weekend.

Take care,
Beth

:wave2: Hi Sharon,
Feel free to vent away. I think we all have felt the same feelings from time to time. I like to think that maybe I haven't lost what I wanted but at least I'm no longer gaining and that's a step in the right direction, right :D ? I know you are working hard and feeling frustrated but think about the positive steps you have made.

Oh and the answer to your laundry question is NO! It's just like the dishes -- neverending  .

Take care  .

Hi Sharon,

Hang in there!:cheer2: Like Beth and Val have said, you have made many positive changes in your WISH journey and I think it's worth repeating... You are so much more than the number on that scale, Sharon!::yes:: You are an excellent wife and mother and you are a wonderful friend. Just yesterday, I was praising the Lord for you because of the support and caring that you have shown me. Your posts in my journal always make me smile and bring much :teeth: to my day.

Keep on keeping on, Sharon! You can do this! I know you can!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Have a wonderful Tuesday!:sunny:

 Sharon

I am sorry you aren't seeing the results you have been working so hard for! It is really frustrating when our bodies won't cooperate with our minds, and just drop those pounds and inches!

You *are* doing great! You are healthy, eating those healthy veggies, making good lifestyle choices. Sooner or later, things will start moving in the right direction again.

Sending lots of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: to help!

Boy oh boy this week is gonna be TOUGH!! They celebrated my birthday at work today - ordered lunch in and had a cake. Tomorrow night my Dad is coming over for pizza and ice cream cake. Thursday night DH wants to take me out to dinner. Saturday is DDs party - dinner at Bennigans and more ice cream cake. OY! my points are gonna be through the roof!!!!

On the good side, I got my veggies in again yesterday. Clothes are with me to stop at Curves on the way home tonight. So at least I'm doing some things right! ;)

Beth, Terry, Tracy, Val - Thank you all so much for reminding me that I am doing Positive things for myself. ::yes:: I do WISH the scale would move downwards and that the clothes would get looser, but Val is right - at least I am not gaining weight!! And if I keep up with Curves and WW, eventually I should be able to lose some of this weight! You guys are great - it is wonderful to have such a great support team!!:grouphug: for all of us!!!

Goals:
1) cheat free - 7/8
2) exercise - 2/12
3) veggies - 7/8

The cheat free ought to be okay for today and I will get the exercise in today. Veggies will definitely be tough to meet goal. I had planned on a salad for lunch, but the ladies ordered soup and sandwhiches instead. :smooth: I'll see what I can do for dinner to make it up.

Thanks again for all your support and encouragement. It means the world to me!!:teeth:

Hi Sharon,

At least your bday only comes once a year. :p Bday cake is also calorie and fat free.

Great job on the veggies and exercise.

have a great evening,
Beth

Good morning Sharon!:sunny:

How are you doing today? I hope that you are doing well. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Tracy:wave2:

P.S. I know that it's not until tomorrow, but :bday: a day early.:teeth:

Thank you Tracy!:teeth: And Beth - I really, really WISH bday cake was calorie and fat free! I'm gonna be eating an awful lot of it the next few days!

Yesterday ended up not being so great. Eating all that sugar just ended up making me crave more bad stuff. :( I ate way off program last night. I knew what I was doing, but did it anyhow. :o AND I didn't meet my veggie goal! Oh well! I'm trying to put yesterday behind me and do better today. (At least during the day as we are having pizza for dinner!!:earseek: )

So goals look like this:
1) Cheat free - 7/9
2) Exercise - 3/12 :teeth:
3) Veggies - 7/9

At least I did get to Curves yesterday, so I did SOMETHING right!

I had one serving of veggies so far today. I will order a salad with my pizza, so that will get me to goal there. And maybe the salad will fill me up a little bit so that I don't eat so much pizza!:hyper:

Thats it for today. It is quite cold here today - I don't care for that! Temp right now at 1:20 PM is only 39! Yikes!

:bday: to you!!!!

Hope you take a moment and enjoy your special day, Sharon!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS: Brrrrr.... try to stay warm too!

Okay - I think i should just write off this whole week as far as healthy living goes!

Last night consisted of lots of pizza and ice cream cake - YUM YUM! Today I took DD out for lunch to Ruby Tuesdays. I had 1/2 turkey panini sandwich with fries and salad bar. At least I made a point to get some veggies in. Tonight I am going out to dinner with DH. Not sure what I will have - probably seafood over linguini.

I didn't go to Curves today - positively no excuse. I did however get a bunch of laundry done, helped DD clean her room, and straightened the kitchen a little. :smooth: So at least it wasn't a complete waste of a day.

Well, here I am - the big 4-0. When I started this healthy living thing back in December, I had hoped to be in decent shape by today. I am disappointed that I didn't reach that goal. I will however continue to strive to make better choices and to live healthier. Hopefully, at the very least, I won't gain any more weight. While I am not happy where I am, I would be more upset if I continued to gain. :( On the positive side, I take a daily vitamin, drink plenty of water, watch my fat intake , try to exercise regularly and eat more veggies. Those are all things that I have improved upon this year and I am proud of them! ::yes::

Thanks for the B-day wishes Terry! :wave2: The weather is a little warmer today, but they are forecasting lots of rain for tomorrow. Oh well!

Have a great day everyone!

:bday: :cake: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday:
Happy Bday Sharon,

I only put one cake in because I know you'll be having more this week.:p

Sharon, your week is very busy, and there are a ton of obligations thrown in there. I know that when this week is over, you'll be back at the healthy living thing again. You have made some huge strides this year. Keep up the great work.

Now the real question. What did DH get you for your bday?

Happy Birthday,
Beth

EEK! Sharon, you have crossed over to the 'other' side with me?? I couldnt' even tell! Happy Day again!

It looks like we both had the same goal. Okay - I wanted to have 6 pack abs by my 4 0 birthday. I didn't make that either. BUT we are both striving in the right direction and making POSITIVE changes in our lives. Way to go! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Now to the important stuff Beth pointed out ..... what DID your DH get you for your Birthday???? :hyper:
