September 29, 2007 - Magic

Staci, glad you are all better. I finally packed this morning. Now I have the rest of the day to remember things that I forgot and throw them in.

Deweysgirl or anyone else who is still around...did anyone remember to print out Coral World coupons for me? I don't have a printer. If someone has a minute I would appreciate it.

I am SUPER excited!!!

Thanks! And you obviously did a good job packing if you still have room to throw more things in! I'm still digging things out to leave behind...to make room for the things I know I'll forget and remember in the morning! It was fun identifying things I wanted to bring, and buying new things for the trip, but a great deal less fun when reality set in and I tried to pack everything and figure out what I'm doing to do with it once we're on the ship! Oh, well. We'll have fun if we bring too much and are crowded or if we forget something and joke about it the whole trip.

I'm so excited! It's almost there! One day left!! WOOHOO! :woohoo:  :cheer2: :cool1:

See everyone tomorrow!

Greetings from WDW ! We had a bad delay out of Philly. Our plane was over an hour late, then we sat on the runway for another hour. Got to Orlando at midnight. We were supposed to land at 9:30 pm. Glad Budget was still open. We didn't get to sleep until 3 am.

I'm at POP Century now.......going to the MNSSHP tonight....so far.....fingers crossed.........weather is good. Sunny and hot right now.

Staci....glad you're feeling better. Hope everyone has a safe (and uneventful) trip down to FL. I actually passed a door here at POP and the person has a magnetic sign on the door for all DIS'ers to sign in and say hello. I didn't know this person, but signed my board name and a "hello" anywhere.

Ouch! Well, at least you're here! I've got my fingers crossed for good weather for you!!!

We arrived safely in Orlando this evening. I sure am glad that we're flying non-stop back to SLC.

When we arrived at the hotel (Holiday Inn Select Orlando International Airport), I realized that it was the same one that we stayed at prior to our last Disney Cruise three years ago. What a kwinkee-dink.

See you all tomorrow.

Trent-

Sitting in our room at POP now. News said rough/choppy sea for Sunday. The Wonder might have some difficulty---said seas would be 10-12 feet. They are still saying they're keeping an eye on tropical storm Karen. She has "potential" to do something later this coming week. But so far they just don't know.

Trent....glad u arrived safely.

Safe flight to Shannon, ragdoll and everyone else still not yet in the Sunshine state.

Ohh......almost forgot. MNSSHP didn't work out. I guess stuff came up with people. I was in front of Cindy's Castle from 6:25 to 6:40 pm then left. I did later catch up with Pauline though in Frontierland !!! I hear someone calling out my name and it's Pauline. I'm glad u saw me Pauline. It was sooooo nice to finally meet u and little Sarah. Sarah was napping and she couldn't make the Cindy's Castle meet which I undertood. I am sure things must have come up for the others as well. Life happens. JUst hope all had a good day at the Halloween party.

See ya tommorrow........

We are at the Radisson in Port Canaveral. I might be the one turning out the lights--or does it only count when the last person posts from home--??--

anyway--
must throw some things in the suitcases, zip them, take them to the car, get DH some sunglasses as we both forgot to pack them, return the car to Budget and take the shuttle to THE TERMINAL!!

Off to the Mickey boat.

Hey guys...welcome back.

anyone know how the person with the "medical emergency" is doing. I hope ok.

anyone???

Greaty cruise by the way. Who cares if we got rocked around on the first night. I am sorry for the folks who got sick, but I thought it was kinda fun.

:goodvibes

Oh yea...by the way thanks to everyone who helped out with the goody bags. Griffin loved his. sorry we missed the 2nd meet and greet, we thought it was at 1:00pm. We did get the bag (thanks paul and family). And special thanks to John for making our door signs and name takes. We owe you one buddy.

Who booked another. i know I did, but we might change our date... so stand by for more details.

Jim

Well we are home but sad to leave the boat. My dd was crying yesterday because she wanted to stay on. She kept saying can't we be stowaways?

The only thing I heard about the med. emergency is that the they only let one of the family members go with them the rest had to finish the cruise. I think they were on our hallway because one of the family members was talking to another couple. I only caught that the rest were still on the cruise and I believe they said they saved his life. Hopefully the person is ok.

Now back to reality and all the laundry!!! We did have a great time and it was fun meeting everyone. Thanks again to grumpygramps for the door sign and tag they are going on my refrigerator!! We didn't book another cruise :sad1: since it took awhile to save up for this one. For now I will just have to dream about the one we were on.

Hi everyone! We got home VERY late last night. We had a great cruise and Sarah didn't want to get off the ship! We had so much fun meeting everyone and Sarah had so much fun playing with the kids.
Maddie, Lydia, Zane, Savannah, Jade, Adi, Alex and all the kids- Sarah says HI:wave: and that she misses playing with you.

We had many "Magical Moments"
1) A CM called our cabin and asked if he could come up to give something to Sarah- he brought her a "magical moment" certificate, a mickey ear pen, a tinkerbell trading pin, and a very nice dcl photo album.

2) Our room steward gave us a nice hardbound book about the Disney transatlantic voyage.

3) Snow White wrote Sarah a nice birthday card and an autograph picture of her.

4) Pocahantas knew Sarah by name and so everytime she saw Sarah anywhere (even going down the staircase) she would chat with Sarah for a little while and ask her about her day.

5) We got FREE snorkel, floaters, and use of any water equipment at CC!

6) We were on Deck 9 trying to get into the elevator when a CM saw us, took us to the aracade and he gave Sarah a toy (a purple pillow that says "spoiled") from that machine with a claw.

7) Our servers were absolutely great! We were seated next to URSULA (witch from little mermaid) at Animator's palate and Sarah was so scared.. so they moved us one night and the other night they covered up the framed picture for Sarah. I thought that was very special. They also brought us coke for me and Joe, Sarah shirley temple with extra cherries in a bowl.. every night starting on the 2nd night.

There were so many other things....... we had such a great experience! We didn't book 'coz we're waiting for the NEXT mediterranean cruise.

We saw pretty much everyone around the ship or the excursions. We had so much fun hanging out with the Klumb family and Tonya and her sister. Sarah had a blast playing with Jade and Savannah whenever we see them especially at Coki beach with GG and Alicia was there too.

Everytime Sarah would see GG, she wanted to say hi to him and referred to him as the "human Donald Duck".

It was an AWESOME vacation! I can't think of any superlative that would describe how much fun we had on our vacation especially with our new found friends.

Ok.. back to reality.. I have to unpack later and do laundry.

ttyl,
Pauline :hippie:

We're home safe too. Sounds like you had a great time Groovy. Jade and Savannah miss everyone. They want to go back on the Mickey Boat. We all had a great time. I didn't hear how the person with the heart attack is doing but I pray that he is ok. I also heard there was another emergency earlier in the day. Someone ran a waverunner into a rock wall and had to be flighted. I hope they are ok,(if it's true). I hope everyone else has a safe trip back home and we all keep in touch. Back to reality.

Shannon

Welcome Home, everybody.

We are local, so we were home about noon yesterday. When we were unpacking, I came across the bandana I wore while I was snorkling. (I was that crazy lady with the bright yellow bandana. I had my hair braided on the ship, and then managed to get my scalp sunburned in St. Marteen; so I was careful to keep it covered most of the time after that.) Anyway, it smelled just like Castaway Cay, and I just couldn't bring myself to wash it just yet. I wore it yesterday while I finished reading the book I had started on the trip.

It was our first cruise, and we will definitely be back. I learned so much, too, and won't feel so lost on the next one. I enjoyed it from the moment we boarded, but I also spent the first 3 days thinking that I didn't get what the big deal was and couldn't understand why people went back year after year or even several times a year. However, I don't know exactly when it happened, but I was surprised to find myself sad about our trip coming to a close. Seriously, I could've stayed out there another week. So, we will definitely be going back.

I'm sorry I couldn't stay at the meets longer. My family doesn't really understand the whole message board thing and didn't know what to think of my running off to see ya'll instead of hanging with them. Also, I'm so bad at faces and names, I hope I didn't insult anyone by not stopping to chat with a fellow DISer. Thanks GG, for the nametag. I actually put it on my door, and I loved seeing all the DISers that were around us. Thanks all, for the goody bags. My girls (and my friend's girls) loved theirs. Definitely a big hit.

We got off the ship for awhile in St. Marteen. Dh bought me some beautiful Caribean Topaz earrings. Nothing fancy, but something I could wear everyday, and that was exactly what I wanted. DH kept wanting to get me something fancier, but I insisted that I didn't want anything else. Plus, they look great with my braids. LOL!! We stayed on the ship in St. Thomas, and this was when I started to love being on the ship. It was so nice onboard that day because it wasn't crowded. A great day. Also, the next day, we enjoyed all the shows and Bingo and such. The weather didn't bother us at all because we had had a great pool day just the day before. Then there was Castaway Cay!!! I had been told that CC alone was worth the price of a Disney cruise, but I never believed it because I'm really not a beach person -- eventhough I live about a half mile from the ocean. However, I was so blown away. It was great, and I can't really tell you why. I just had a remarkable time there with my dh, my dds, and my friends. It was perfect. We got back onboard around 2:00 and were sitting on our veranda when the CMs brought the man (with the emergency) back on board. We saw him and at first I thought heat stroke or something like that, but I was concerned when he didn't get up and walk onto the ship under his own power and then appeared to be out. That was when I knew it was serious. After a long time, he was again taken off the boat -- along with his wife to wait for the helicopter. My friend was a little disturbed that the ship left before the helicopter actually arrived, but it is true that we don't know all the factors that went into the decision not to wait. With that exception, it was a great day.

Now for some questions..... What does the head server do?? He stopped by our table the first 2 nights and then we didn't see him again until the last night. Our oackage included tips, so we did tip him, but I would've rather taken that and given it to our server. He was awesome and we did add to his tip and to our stateroom hostess' tip, too. Anyway, I was just wondering.

Hi Mini Girl!
We saw our head waiter everywhere.. even during breakfast. I don't know exactly what he does either, so we gave him additional tip than the recommended amount.. but not as much as we gave everyone else. He took care of our "special" breakfast and dinner. We wanted ethnic food and he brought it to us one breakfast and then another one for dinner along with the regular dinner for that night. He was always around but I think he just supervises and orders people around :confused3

Regarding the accident: When we were on our way to the ship, we saw medics run toward the waverunners and they even brought a stretcher with them by attaching it to the waverunner. (I think itwas a stretcher) and we waited for a while and they brought back this woman. I heard that she hit a rock or hit her head of a rock while on the jetski. And there was another emergency where someone had a heart attack? I think there were 2 incidences or was it just one? I don't know I was getting conflicting info from other nosey people like me..

Hi Irene and family!! Fallon is such a cute little baby!

Wow!! They had an busy day -- in the worst way. I didn't hear about the waverunner incident till I came to the board. Like I said, we did see them bringing a man (about mid-60s) back to the ship. Our staterooms were on the port side, so we saw all the action on the dock. So, I guess there must have been 2 different incidents. What happened to the woman? Did they have to medi-vac her, too? Is that why it took so long for the helicopter? We figured it was coming in from Miami or something.

Regardless, I hope everyone is okay.

Hope everyone had a safe trip home...holy heck is PA hot right now...:confused3

When everyone asks about the trip I feel like it's an understatement to say wonderful, great, fab......it was all that and more.!!!!

We are looking to book in 08..DH said he can't wait untill 09....:rotfl: ..not

I really enjoyed meeting all of you and hope to cruise with you again someday....:grouphug:

Officially checking in. :)

I've actually only been back in my house for less than 1/2 an hour. We got back to Phoenix today around 3 and stopped for a nice lunch before coming home. We are EXHAUSTED!!!!!!!!

WOW!!!! That cruise was absolutely, totally and completely amazing!! We didn't book again, I think we're going to wait for the west coast cruises. Our server pretty much confirmed one of the ships is coming to the west coast. :woohoo:

I didn't sleep well last night at all. I really loved the rocking the ship did!!:cloud9:
