Hi, my name is Liz and we are thinking of changing from a 4 night cruise in April to the 7 night sept 22 2012. This will be our first cruise ever and I know this maybe a stupid question but it is hurricane season and I was wondering should I have concerns about the weather this time of year?

That's funny. Just this weekend I was mentioning to Jen that if we homeschooled it would be a lot less stressful than taking the kids out of school for the week esp. since Brendan will now be in middle school and having to explain to each teacher stresses me out just thinking about it.We usually cruise in September. Never had an issue with weather. In fact, when people ask me why we homeschool, I say it's so we can cruise DCL and go to Disney in off season, and I'm only kidding a little bit.

I've cruise previously in September (a 7-day Western and the WBTA last year). The captain is very good at avoiding the weather as much as possible. You may get the occassional rain at your port but they alter the sailing if needed to avoid any real dangerous weather. I've always said that I'd prefer to be on the ship than on land when a hurricane heads our way. The captain can move the ship - even magical Mickey can't move WDW.
Hello all ! I would like to thank you all for the replies! We have officially booked this cruise!and we are sooooo excited! Ok maybe I'm more excited than the rest since we won't tell kids till closer to sail date!
