September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

I was looking at the stateroom list on the first page and I think we will be neighbors! Or face wise neighbors I should say. lol :-)

Too funny, we would've been next-door neighbors... we were in 8008, but my travel agent recommended the starboard side instead, so we switched :) Still very close by, though!!!

Wow that would of been even closer!! lol My I ask why she recommended the change? Is the side i'm on not good?..

I cannot speak for deck 8 but we have stayed on both the port and Starboard sides of the Magic Deck 2 and did not notice any difference at all.

When we pull into port either side can be looking at the port or the sea depending on if the captain backs in or just pulls in. There does not seem to be any pattern to what happens.

You should be fine with the room you have chosen. Relax and enjoy the planning They could put me in a broom closet and I would still cruise DCL.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday so far! I've had a couple of crazy weeks...big changes at work (for the better), so I haven't been on the boards at all lately. Can't wait until the cruise that my DH and I are taking in a month for our 10 year anniversary!

We enjoyed a nice day yesterday at Busch Gardens...rained in the morning, but ended up being a beautiful day! Heading to Ft Myers today for a little shopping and lunch with my MIL and SIL (no kids!!!).

Welcome to those who have recently joined us! Looking forward to getting to know everyone over the next several months! Hope everyone has a great Mother's Day tomorrow :flower3:

Melissa and Susie - I added you to our FB page this morning! :surfweb:

She said that we would have a better view of Castaway Cay from the starboard side. I don't think it really matters... but she was VERY INSISTENT! So I went with it

That will depend which way the ship docks. I have seen the Magic back in, as well as, dock facing forward. If it is not the view you want you will just need to go up a few decks and take in the view from there.

In the seven of the Disney Cruises I've been in the captain only pulled into Castaway Cay once usually backs in. I've had both side of the ship and yes you can see a little more of the Island on the starboard side, but its so beautiful it really doesn't matter what side your on. I would sleep in the engine room if I had to as long as I'm on the Disney ship.

I'm sure i'd be happy in there as well, so happy to be going!! lol

Ohmygosh, I am so far behind I haven't read about them yet! I will have to check it out ASAP!! Someone finally posted some pics of our balcony and it was exciting to see- it's an aft so it is larger balcony. It looks awesome!

We just got back from an amazing weekend over at Disney- the new Fantasyland changes are quite visible and super exciting. A lot has changed since we were last there just back in March.

The only downside I must have picked up a flu virus there- I came back the other day and immediately got sick as a dog. But it was so mcuh fun, I got to meet up with the Dismoms- a group of gals from here- one of which I was on my last cruise with (Ellen, Podsnel). It was so great to catch up with her and make some terrific new friends! So thankful these boards have born such amazing friendships and I know more are to come from this cruise!!!!
:goodvibes

This has been a long week so far...long story short. My husband was injured on the job 4 years ago- He works for the sheriffs dept. He had a pretty severe head injury that resulted in a seizure and 3 different areas of compression fractures in his spine. He was in the hospital for 6 weeks, out of work for 15 months. After lots of therapy and healing time, he has made huge strides in his recovery. Life has gotten pretty much back to normal the last year or so.

Well, Monday night, while I was at work, I got a phone call from my 8 year old saying that daddy was having another seizure. She called 911 and kept her 3 year old sister calm. She did an awesome job and we are so proud of her. However, my husband wasn't so lucky - he had 2 violent seizures. Even though the x-rays came back negative, his spinal doc is ordering an MRI because he thinks he may have refractured his back. My husband is walking (with a cane) but is in quite a bit of pain. He is also having some temporary neuro issues as a result of the seizures. So it looks like we are in for another long road to recovery. But we do what we have to do and we will get through this just like we got through it before.

We have a cruise coming up in 2 weeks for our anniversary, but we are not sure if we are going to have to cancel it or not. We are hoping that we don't have to...the relaxation may be what he needs.

If anyone can spare some extra pixie dust and/or prayers, we would appreciate it! I'll keep everyone updated on his progress.
