September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

Hello everyone,

I was on the DCL web sight today:surfweb: and I noticed that the staterooms on the Dream & Fantacy are a little smaller than the staterooms on the Magic & Wonder. A standard Inside Stateroom on the Magic/Wonder is 184 sq. ft. An Inside stateroom on the Deam/Fantacy is 169 sq. ft. A Deluxe Stateroom with a verandah on the Magic/Wonder is 268 sq. ft. and on the Dream/Fantacy it's 246 sq. ft. This really doesn't matter to me because I know these staterooms are going to be beautiful, just a little smaller. The only staterooms that are bigger are the suites.:)

Most cabins are smaller on the Dream but we hit it just right Cat 6A cabin #10158 aft an awsome....awsome cabin with plenty of room to move around in. We booked the same cabin for this trip and most likely will on future cruises thats how much we liked this cabin. If I can figure out how to place pics in a post I'll post a few. Here is the same cabin just on the other side of the ship #10658 on you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9V8lJVsnv4c

Time changes on the Dream, new dining times for the Disney Dream -- 5:45 and 8:15 p.m. It is also adjusting its show times. There are now only two evening performances in the Walt Disney Theatre: at 6:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. In addition, there will be special matinee performances of Villains Tonight! and Disney's Believe.
I'm thinking this is because the CM's were having a hard time getting ready for the late seating dining. We did feel as though we were being rushed out on our cruise. Maybe now they can take a well deserved break between dinings :worship: they are the best :thumbsup2

I'm very excited for our aft rooms we have booked for this cruise! They are on Deck 7 and our one room (the other is an aft inside) doesn't have the biggest verandah on the ship, but it looks to be amost twice the size of a normal one! :thumbsup2 We have yet to see actual pictures though so still waiting...:)

Hope to see our little family here grow over the next few days with the rush to book '12 after the announcement yesterday. :thumbsup2

Ahoy Mates, permission to come aboard?
My name is Bob wife is Barbara, we just spent a great four nights on the Dream March 6-10 and what a ship! We just couldn't pass up the discount for another cruise so we booked this one on the Fantasy
Can't wait to sail her, this will be our fifth cruise with Disney, the fourth is this coming summer onboard the Wonder up in Alaska.

See ya on the boards

:welcome: Aboard Bob! Looking forward to getting to know you over the next 18 months! Also can't wait to hear about your Alaskan cruise this summer. I bet it's going to be fabulous!

So they brought back The Golden Mickeys:woohoo: When I did my cruise last year and the end of Oct. The Golden Mickeys was replaced with Villians Tonight. I would have to agree with you, I was not that impressed with Villians Tonight:sad2: Do they still have Twice Charmed-An Original Twist of the Cinderella Story? I am hoping Disney's Believe is the same as Disney Dreams. I don't think DCL would get rid of their "signature show"popcorn::

I loved The Golden Mickeys. I know that they have updated it for the Dream (and I'm assuming they will do the same for the Fantasy). I think they have added an Ariel scene and a Rapunzel/Flynn Rider scene to it. I have also heard not so great things about Villains Tonight. However, some people really like it. I'm just not a "villains" type person, more of a "fairy tales and pixie dust" girl. princess: If they are still playing Twice Charmed, I'll probably skip it. I saw it on the Magic and I thought it was just okay. Loved, loved, loved Disney Dreams, so I'm sure that I will love, love, love Believe!

I think there is more storage space in the cabin...so maybe that will make the room seem bigger? Also, does the bathroom cut in to the room differently than on the Magic/Wonder? Maybe that is the reason for the smaller square footage? I can't wait to actually be in the cabin!!!

I'm sure our roll call is going to grow very quickly. Can you even book our cruise on the DCL website yet? Still only through travel agents right now, am I correct? I bet by summertime, our roll call is going to grow exponentially and our thread is going to blow up with posts!!:woohoo:

I actually went through the motions of a reservation for this cruise today. I just wanted to price compare to see what it is now compared to when we booked. I selected the same number of cruisers and same catagories. We saved $428 since we booked early! :goodvibes :cool1:

Yeah IMO Villians Tonight was just okay..I mean it is still a great Disney production and definitely worth seeing once but it drags out so long in the middle when each villain gets a rather long cameo explaining who they are. The plot is pretty thin but we loved the old Hercules show and did enjoy seeing Hades and Pain & Panic again. We may skip it next time. ;)
Looking way forward to the new Golden Mickeys and Believe though!!! :thumbsup2

Slowly, but surely! I'm so looking forward to the next few months when she REALLY starts taking shape. And it'll be nice when she is big enough that she doesn't have to share that dock with the Celebrity ship :)

Hi Julie! :wave2: I added you to the FB page.

Happy Friday everyone! :cool1: Wanted to put our thread back on the first page. We were hidden so far back that I couldn't find us. :confused3 I had to use the link up top.

Beautiful weekend here in Florida! Took my girls for their Easter pictures today...they are so cute! Heading to the pool tomorrow for some sun and fun! Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Hello to all my fellow "Disboard" cruisers,

MY DH and I have been busy at work and with our new puppies Chanel and Dior. Gosh, I forget how much time and work it is when the puppies are so young. They are now about 3 months old and Dior weghs 1.7 pounds and Chanel is still under a pound....But this is a true labor of love:lovestruc

It is so exciting to see the "Fantasy" being built:banana: I am squinting my eyes trying to see our room at the front but having "older eyes":rotfl: I am not sure if the deck 12 in the front is built yet to show those rooms....Still squinting folks!

My husband and I are very excited to meet our new friends onboard and to also see some of the wonderful people we have sailed in the past with.

Have a great weekend everyone.:yay:

A new week. One week closer to our cruise- which is so far away. Good thing we have a few more planned in between now and then.

Do we have some kind of logo or theme or motto? Not volunteering because my artistic skills are ZERO. Anyone whose seen the door magnets I've made can vouch for that.

Have a good start to the week. We have to have all the school work and portfolios done by May 10, plus oldest dd's transcript forms so they can be certified for sending off the colleges in the Fall. It seems like she was just a baby.

Weather was pretty much perfect this weekend, wasn't it? The breeze was wonderful on Saturday! We were inside at a dance competition all day yesterday but it seemed gorgeous anyway!;)

Ha ha! It's not you I have a hard time too. They need to float out that Celebrity ship and give the Fantasy some room to GROW! ;) I do think the forward part is not there though, If I am looking at it correctly the bow and stern are not attached yet, this is just the mid section.

My husband and I are very excited to meet our new friends onboard and to also see some of the wonderful people we have sailed in the past with.

Hope you had a great one, we were so busy this weekend I can't believe it is Monday again! :headache: Tax day no less! ;)

Hey Julie have at it! Give us anything you can think of or draw up! :goodvibes The thing I made is just temporary until we finalize our name and then we can all do logos after that. :thumbsup2

So we are only 17 months away this week guys! It is going to go REALLY fast!!! :cool2:
