September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

Ok so my must haves-----desk(about size of ur. Hand)fan. Great for white noise and my sleepers who love it blowing on them. Will probably bring 2. pop up hamper here too, suction hooks to hang our bath sponge from. We hate wash cloths. A small shower candy to organize the sink area. Obviously the hair products and curling iron flat iron.etc

22 days to go! I can almost smell the main street bakery....
So I started to pack this week, and I'm getting the "its only a week go lite" speech from the husband...I hate going to dinner in the same sweaty clothes I wore all day to the parks. I have day and evening clothes...I like nicer vacation photos not sweaty hot mess photos...am I crazy?? (besides for Disney) are there others like me out there?? Possibly visiting in September :rotfl2:

I am the same also! Morning clothes and evening clothes, even DH likes a change of clothing! I will however possibly wear a pair of shorts again, could never imaging wearing the same sweaty shirt!
!

I am the exact same way! We definitely pack two shirts a day and I usually pack a sundress for the evening.

What do you ladies (and September veterans) suggest in ways of makeup?
I'm not a huge makeup wearer to begin with, but do you see the benefits of doing some eye make up and some powder or foundation each day?

I am the same way. I live in Central Florida so this is my normal everyday routine. For make up I use a tinted moisturizer w/spf, specifically Cover Girl but there are other brands out there. I do use eye makeup, but I keep it light, a sweep of bronzey eyeshadow and a coat of mascara. Whatever color eyeshadow works best for you would be good. I don't think a really heavy eye is necessary. I personally don't see the point of other makeup because I sweat like a pig so it will come right off. If I am planning a nice dinner and won't be outside too much, then I will put on some Bare Minerals blush I have handy. As well as some tinted lipgloss.

:worship: This is a FANTASTIC list of additional things to bring!!! Genius, I tell you. Thank you! We also hate wash cloths.

What are some things you pack/take with you to WDW that isn't on the normal packing lists or something that just makes your life easier or you can't live without? I'm getting our packing list together and I'm even going to bust the suite cases out tonight. :goodvibes

22 days to go!!!

we have packed and repacked so many times, its hard to remember what I brought... :lmao: power bar for all the electronics (cells, dsi's, camera batteries, camcorder), garbage bags for various things, safety pins...

as for makeup, i'm bringing basics - powder foundation, eyeshadow, mascara, maybe a couple eyeshadows... have lip balm with spf for the sun...

getting so close!! waiting for my mickey mail - 1 person in our group got it already... but not the main planner - :scared1: - so hard to have patience - feel like a kid on Christmas morning...

Hi there!
We are two gals (42 and 45) who are taking on the World without the husbands and kids this trip!!! Eating our way through on the DxDP and staying at the BWV. Think of us as Lucy and Ethel, Laverne and Shirley, or Thelma and Louise (oh, wait, that one doesn't end too well!!!! :rotfl2:)

Would anyone like to try to share an Illuminations Cruise on Wednesday, 9/7?

I had placed a post on the Wishes/Illuminations Cruise thread, but, no one seems to want our company over there, so, I thought I'd post this here!

Not sure of the cost or even availability, but, I thought I'd ask before doing some un-necessary planning.

We went on the Illumination Cruise last year, and I really enjoyed it. Hopefully you will find someone who wants to share a cruise with you!

I won't leave the house with coverup, then maybe a light eye shadow and WATERPROOF mascara! I also use chapstick. I imagin by 10am I won't have any makeup left on my face but at that point I usually don't mind anyways!:) Then sometimes for cooler nights I will wear normal makeup when we head back out for our ADR's and evening EMH. Those clean and Clear oil absorbing pads work great:thumbsup2 you can blot the sweat off your face and the makeup stays put! But even those haven't cut it with this heat we have been having up north, so i don't know about FL.

*on a note if you don't usually wear a lot of makeup, I have found a makeup with SPF like 15 is much better for your skin, even double that with a spf moisturizer, rather than use sunscreen on your face, much less sticky and yucky in the heat!

I usually just have mascara and a spf15 lipbalm. I learnt the hard way (many years ago) about wearing a shiny lipgloss. Bad burn. Shiny is good after the sun goes down.;)

I wouldn't have thought that with a shiny lipgloss - good to know - burnt lips are one of the worst!

Up until last year, make-up was on my packing list but I never used it. Last year, I accidentally packed the moisturizer without sunscreen, so I ended up using my make-up with SPF. I have used everything but mascara on every trip since. I sweat a little, but my pictures sure look better! :lmao:

By the way, I officially finished the girls' dresses tonight! I'll have to post pics later. For my first sewing adventure, I'm pretty happy! Now I'm trying to decide if I want to try to make something else.

I wear make up everyday at home. I only wear mascara and lip gloss it is to stinkin hot when we go. I will pack it so I have it for the way home.

I wear makeup about twice a year, but I will probably pack something for our dinners out.

The glasses/contacts reminder made me check the cabinet and I only have one pair of contacts left. I need to make an appointment for a visit. Thanks for the reminder :thumbsup2

WOOT! I was able to finally snag a room only ressie at ASMO for that extra night we added on last minute! I booked with a discount at CSR for 149, but a room finally opened up at ASMO for 96! Still pricey, but saves me 49 and my son will LOVE the giant figures! I am super excited now! The Disney Gods are def throwing pixie dust at me left and right lately:wizard:

Makeup - I don't usually wear it at home but will probably wear some at WDW. I have a bare minerals powder, some eye shadow and eye liner....And then of course lip balm with SPF.

I pulled our my "Disney Bag" today that I have been just throwing stuff in as I buy it so that it's in one place....Wow is that bag full, it might need it's own suitcase.....lol

I can't wait to start packing, it's getting so close....We are heading to the beach this weekend, will probably stay home next weekend and then it's Labor Day....which is in SEPTEMBER!!!! We will be less then 10 days from our trip when we get back from the beach that weekend....so exciting!

No makeup for me either, especially in the summer. Not only does it melt right off, but my skin is pretty dark, and 20 minutes in the sun can make me a lot darker. Trying to match it would be awful!:rotfl2:
