September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

I wear make up to go out at night, during the day just a light lipstick something with SPF15.
Its less than 3 weeks away. I am so excited. All us teachers went back yesterday so its gonna move faster now that I am busy all day. SOOO excited. :cool1:

Well today I can do online check in. But I think I'm going to skip it. We have a room only the first night so I want to make sure we keep the same room. The reservations are linked. But I don't really want to move. I'm sure I can ask the person working the desk at the online check in but for some reason I feel Like I would hold up the line.

10 Days left!!!

I must admit this week is going by so sloWWWWWWWWWWWW. I thought today at least had to be Thursday.

What are some things you pack/take with you to WDW that isn't on the normal packing lists or something that just makes your life easier or you can't live without? I'm getting our packing list together and I'm even going to bust the suite cases out tonight. :goodvibes

22 days to go!!!

Some of the things I started throwing in my bag are;
a 3 prong outlet, an internet cable, wash cloths and the thing you wear over your eyes when you sleep (not sure what it is called), as I must sleep with the TV on.

38 more days...:cool1:

Hey DISers! I'll be there Sat. Sept 10 - Sat. Sept 17th, at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I'm really starting to get excited now! I think I'm mostly excited about the FOOD! LOL! :hyper:

My Must Haves:
-Wash Cloths to wipe the sweat off in the parks
-Crocs
-Vitamins
-Lysol!

Welcome ...last minute trips are awesome! We will be at POR but checking out on 9/18.....

We leave exactly 2 weeks from today and I haven't even started packing yet!

I'll be using this weekend to get everything together. I've been starting to clean my house in preparation for our vacation--the master bath and both girls rooms are done. Now I just have tons of laundry and every other room in the house to finish! So much to do!! :laundy:

Please add me to the list! I just booked a trip for 5 weeks from now! :cool1:

pamelasu1 - Sept. 19-27 - Swan

Thanks!

Oh, no! 30 days left and I am sure there is something I need to be doing!! And spending $80 on shoes yesterday does NOT count!!! Not 1 hour into work yesterday my shoe broke. I am talking can't salvage broke. There is a shoe store across the street that I have only brought thing out of the sale bin. I don't spend over $25 on shoes. The only shoes cheaper that $80 were flip flops that I cannot wear at work. So, now I am not planning on buying more clothes for Disney. :(
It is exciting to hear that some are leaving so soon!!

 ****22 DAYS left!!!****

I just called to put my additional room requests in. I had put in for a king bed awhile ago when first booking, so I confirmed that was on record. But I also added a lakeview room on a top floor. I am hoping for 50's or 60's.

I put in the same request for my trip in November. We are going for a 2 day getaway for Food and Wine!! WOOT! WOOT!!

I know I just started packing this week also. I did have most everything. I need to go to Walamrt on Saturday and pick up a couple of things I missed. Getting my hair done tonight. Hopefully I can squeeze in a nail fil and pedi this weekend but I doubt it.

Satruday need to pick up dd's cake and sign her up for dance. Sunday is her party. Maybe if everyone leaves buy 2 I can run and get my nails done. It is only my immediate family I'm sure I can kick them out. LOL If not I will have to try to get it done some night.:scared1:

I have been cleaning like crazy only to have to clean when the party is over.

I'm also trying to figure out if I should cancle dd's PL reservation. We have a CP lunch scheduled but between the 2 of the reservations I don't see us getting a ton done til after lunch. But who knows. Then last night I'm looking up stay park and fly hotlels. We need to leave here by 3am to get to the airprot in time our flight leaves at 750 am and the airpot is 2 hours away and my dad is 30 minutes away. :confused3

Thanks!

:welcome: to the thread! I have all three of you added to the first post. :dance3:

Called today to very our reservations...we have 2 that are linked together...made sure both noted that we wanted connecting rooms, the CM also put in there to put bed rails in both rooms (I am sure DS4 will want to spend some nights in his grandparent's room) and then a packnplay/crib in our room, which I am sure we can move to which ever room we want to. He also noted on there that the connecting rooms were the most important thing that it would be great if we could get one of the refurbished buildings at POR....so now that I know that's all noted on both reservations I feel a little bit better about doing online check in....as long as we have connecting rooms I could care less about the other stuff.

I was worried that when we get there the rooms would be refurbished and there no extra bed for grandma. Is making me worry. what is all the room with the trundle bed have all been taken. would they have to upgrade us?

Maybe I missed something, I apologize now if I got this mixed up but....
Is Grandma small and limber?:lmao: the trundle bed isnt ideal for an older person. (unless she is a super young grandma). Its kind of on the ground on a 5" platform with wheels and its only long enough for a child. its recommended for a person 9 and under.
If there are too many people for the room size at check in you will have to pay for a larger room in another hotel. They generally wont free upgrade you for something like that it isnt their error or may hbe able to add a 2nd room to your reservation. (hoping they still have availability) I am assuming based on the question that you are at Port Orleans Riverside?? I would call Disney direct now before you get there and have to pay more money unexpectantly.

I agree. I would call to make sure you have the correct mix of adults and children for the room desired, so that you are not unexpectedly surprised when you arrive.

To answer your general question--I believe trundle beds are only in the Alligator Bayou section, which is not scheduled to be refurbished before October (per current estimates). So the rooms with trundle beds should still be available for September travelers. Here is a picture of the trundle bed, to help you decide if it would work for the members in your party.

actually grandma is small she's 5'2 she said the last time when she went with my sister's family she slept in it just fine. I'd figure she'd probably want her own bed instead of sleeping with dd 4 or dd3. the girls will probably sleep on the floor anyhow.

39 DAYS!!!!!!

so close yet so far away lol

I don't know if this is on my must haves but it sounds pretty convenient so I'm going to give it a try.

wet a sponge and pour some liquid soap on it. set it out and let it dry completely and then cut it up in to smaller cubes. Pack in a baggie and then all you do is add water to a cube and you have an instant mini sponge complete with soap :)

Also sunscreen face stick. this is SO much easier than glopping sunscreen in my hand and trying to rub it into DD's face without poking her in the eyes lol.

I also just bought some cooling scarves on etsy. if anyone is looking for some cooling scarves let me know and I'll give you the link to her store. she custom made disney ones for me. I contacted her on Monday about a custom order for 6 of them... she made and shipped them already today :)

Sugar Free Ring pops. These are fantastic for kids to quickly curb a meltdown :) Keeps little mouths busy and quiet lol.
