September 2, 2012 - Magic - NYC to Canada

Christa it does sound like fun but I need to make a Palo Brunch res and booked too late to do so. I will be in line when we get on board and will take what I get. I am right next door and will let you know my plans ASAP.:dance3:

I have an idea, but don't want to impose. What if you and I try for a Palo Brunch for us 4 for us neighbors that way we both ensure getting Brunch. Then we can do the Lumiere's Luncheon on the opposite sea day. What do you think :)

What excursions (if any) are people booking?
I have a bad habit of finding the underbooked excursions that end up being cancelled due to lack of participation.

I booked the walking tour in Halifax to get a bit oriented with the city and have enough free time to do a bit of exploring on my own. I don't think that excursion would be at risk for cancellation.

Saint John, on the other hand, is where I'm concerned. I booked the Taste of Saint John (lunch & wine tasting). Is any one else booked for that or should I look into a backup plan?

I'm looking forward to being back on the Magic and spending my nights hanging out in Rockin' Bar D! :)

ETA: I'm envious of the cruise doc recipients! I haven't received mine yet, nor has my IGT cabin been assigned. The suspense is driving me nuts.

I am doing the HOP on/ Hop off tour. Did the walking tour on another cruise in Halifax. Doing the Alice tea in St. John.

Grandma just booked us a second NYC-Canada cruise for myself and my daughter. We went on the June 10-15 cruise and absolutely loved it! This time we are not booking any of the land trips in advance; we plan on walking around the cities and enjoying the ship.

We overbooked ourselves last time. :confused3

If anyone has questions on the cruise be happy to help. We took the Theodore the Tugboat tour in Halifax- and the Princess Tea in St John. On our own we booked the Harbour Hopper in Halifax. Can't wait to enjoy this cruise now that we are "seasoned travelers":yay:

Did you take the tea in St. John that offered by Disney? I signed up for that and was wondering if it was worth the cost. Sounds like fun.

We have that problem as well (booking excursions that get cancelled!). We are doing the kayaking/lobster lunch in New Brunswick; is anyone else? We thought about the beer tasting excursion but were not excited to leave at 9am for beer ...

In Halifax, we are doing the adults only Peggy's Cove. I'm not as worried about that one for some reason.

Regardless, I'm sure we'll see you at Rockin Bar D as well. We're usually the only ones there at night. It will be good to have company!

Ok, here's my vision of Disney Cruise Line shoreside DIS Monitoring Department:

CM1: "Check out this meet thread. It says here someone booked the Taste of Saint John port adventure."

CM2: "That's impossible. It's discontinued. I only left it on the website because nobody was booking it anyway. Who's saying they booked it?"

CM1: "ImprovGal.... Hmmm... Wasn't she the one who tried to book a cooking class in Victoria on the Los Angeles - Vancouver cruise last year? And the Nobel tour on the 2010 Baltic?"

CM2: "Oh, she really should know better. Should I start writing the "It's not you, it's the tour company" notecard to stick in her fish once she boards?"

CM1: "Nahhh... Let's go easy on her. We'll call her on Monday."

Hmph. So I'm now booked for the History in Stone Walking Tour and will see if I can make a lunch reservation at Opera Bisto directly with the restaurant since it seems to be walking distance from the ship.

1) Sil, thanks for taking on being the FE King for our trip!
2) I forgot to mention that I will be celebrating my 20th Anniversary of being a Survivor.
3) I did a count of this list on FB and there seems to be 21 rooms but on here there seems to be 20. Am I missing something?

Do you mind letting me know that age of your child. Apparently a FE gift is being made that is appropriate for different age children....

Yes, I 2nd that request as my gifts are not just age specific but gender specific.

Thanks!

I posted the following vote on FB and wanted you all to let me know please as well...

I'd be so grateful if you could help me out please. These cruises are my first official DIS meets. On the 9/12 cruise several of us mentioned how we really want to win a Spa Raffle that is usually at 3pm & they moved the meet to 2:30pm. I especially hope I win a much needed $120 massage as I do Physical Therapy for $20 1/week and a Massage Envy massage for $49 1/week b/c I've just had my 10th & 11th surgeries on 7/13 & 7/20. And 2 x $120 is double my budget for medical needs while on the Magic.

:flower3: 2:30 pm DISMeet Time (New Time Please)
:scared: 3:00 pm DISMeet Time (Original Time)

If it does start at 2:30pm it still could go to 3:45pm right before the Muster Drill. And that way it could accommodate all of us.

Your help on this is greatly appreciated! :thanks:

P.S. I've always wanted to do the tour too so how does this sound...

2:00 pm Tour
2:30 pm Start of DISMeet (we get there right as tour is finishing)
3:00pm for those of who want to win a Spa raffle we go up there for 15/20 minutes, Then return to the meet til 3:45
3:45 Head to Muster Stations printed on room key (We don't need to get life vests so no need to go to the room.)
4:00 Muster Drill

How does this sound? :scratchin

I forget to check this thread for updates...I came on here this morning to see what's been posted the last couple of weeks. Don't book the highlights tour or the red coat for a day...I don't want them cancelled :-)

We are also thinking of doing this one and some of the other tastings as well ! Have no experience with Martini's so far - so we are quite excited...

Is this something I have to request to be included? If so, can you add 2 more people?

Or do I have to book it myself on-line?

Sorry...I don't check Disboards often enough.

Christa, I'm traveling with two other friends so I will try to make a reservation for 6. What level are you? I am platinum and plan on getting there early to make this reservation. This is my first platinum trip so I don't know how crowded it will be making reservations for Palo.:cool1: All we can do it try.:cheer2: Karen

Aw, bless your Tinky heart with a mound of pixiedust: I'm Gold and my mom is Silver. This is so special as this is her first Brunch and my 20th anniversary of being a cancer Survivor. So thank you!

We're being driven up from Baltimore, MD and have a check-in time of 11:30am. I think the line opens at the Rockin Bar at 1pm. If I get there 1st I can hold our spot in line. This is awesome! Are your friends in your cabin or on the other side of you where we are 3 neighbors in a row?

:thanks:

The tastings are something DCL does. I have never done one either but what I've been told is you need to sign up at guest services once you board. We hope to do the martini tasting perhaps we will see you there!!

I pinky swear I won't book those tours. I'm always glad to generate a laugh. :)

The tastings are booked at the Guest Services desk after you board. They should be able to print a list of the available tastings. I've done (not all during the same cruise) a few different wine tastings, champagne tasting, mixology, martini tasting, mojito tasting, bloody mary tasting, and Hawaiian mixology (gee, guess which cruise that was!). I'm not a beer drinker, nor can I handle the hard stuff straight up so I haven't done tequila, cognac, beer. The Wonder had a boozy coffee drink tasting up in Cove but it never seemed to work with my evening schedule.
