September 2, 2012 - Magic - NYC to Canada

So, each of the 3 DIS/FB threads mention a lot of mother/daughters companions. I want to keep a list and maybe plan a Lumierre's luncheon on a Sea Day on each cruise. princess:

I may also be able to make it a Brunch at Palo instead. On one of the cruises I read on FB that 'Nikkie' booked a group of no more than 14 in a special Palo room with great views. But she said we need to act fast (as in I will need names, conf #, and stateroom #s). So please let me know ASAP. If the M/D list gets to be more than 14 we could always stick to Lumierre's. :grouphug:

Sound like fun? Just let me know soon please :goodvibes

Grandma just booked us a second NYC-Canada cruise for myself and my daughter. We went on the June 10-15 cruise and absolutely loved it! This time we are not booking any of the land trips in advance; we plan on walking around the cities and enjoying the ship.

We overbooked ourselves last time. :confused3

If anyone has questions on the cruise be happy to help. We took the Theodore the Tugboat tour in Halifax- and the Princess Tea in St John. On our own we booked the Harbour Hopper in Halifax. Can't wait to enjoy this cruise now that we are "seasoned travelers":yay:

I would love to join you as I am taking my mom and my daughter. We couldn't get lunch reservations for Palo last time in advance. We didn't know you could make them onboard. That is one place we really want to go to this time

from an early post:

For those that don't know, all disney ships have an ornamental fish outside the room. The fish is used if someone needs to leave a note for someone in the room. What folks do is buy or make a holder with pockets that they will hang from the fish - we call this the fish extender. Folks participating in this FE will know the rooms of all the other participants (from what is posted here) and they will buy or make a small gift to leave in each FE sometime during the cruise. So its sort of like a secret santa thing. Some get a gift for the room, others personalize stuff for each person in the room or tailor it to the ages of the folks in the room. My experience on FEs have always been great. Folks often make or purchase a Disney inspired gift or will share something about where they are from or where the cruise is going. Its always a treat to see stuff in your FE when you come to your room. Its another way of DIS folks interacting and making the cruise special.

We are closing the FE list on August 1.

Got my cruise documents today. Still waiting for my parents' documents to arrive. Hopefully tomorrow. :cool1:

UPDATE: So, as it turns out the FB page already has many people doing Brunch in Palo and they reminded me that there are under 18 daughters on our list who wouldn't be able to attend if we were in Palo and therefore it will be at Lumiere's.

So, far I have Nikkie/Fran (2), Kristine Hennaman +2 (3), Wendy Liang/Mom (2), plus me and my mom for a total of 9. Head count will be important so that I can get a large enough table at the restaurant but not for the purpose of actually reserving like in Palo.

Please let me know your full names and stateroom number in case of any changes. Thanks and looking forward to having a Magical Mother Daughter Luncheon in Lumiere's! :cool1:

Please see above regarding Palo. We would still love to have you, your mom and daughter. If you would like to attend please just give me your full name and stateroom so I can add you to the list. Thanks! :goodvibes

Yes, I am patiently waiting for mine too! :rotfl2:

Christa it does sound like fun but I need to make a Palo Brunch res and booked too late to do so. I will be in line when we get on board and will take what I get. I am right next door and will let you know my plans ASAP.:dance3:

What excursions (if any) are people booking?
I have a bad habit of finding the underbooked excursions that end up being cancelled due to lack of participation.

I booked the walking tour in Halifax to get a bit oriented with the city and have enough free time to do a bit of exploring on my own. I don't think that excursion would be at risk for cancellation.

Saint John, on the other hand, is where I'm concerned. I booked the Taste of Saint John (lunch & wine tasting). Is any one else booked for that or should I look into a backup plan?

I'm looking forward to being back on the Magic and spending my nights hanging out in Rockin' Bar D! :)

ETA: I'm envious of the cruise doc recipients! I haven't received mine yet, nor has my IGT cabin been assigned. The suspense is driving me nuts.

We have that problem as well (booking excursions that get cancelled!). We are doing the kayaking/lobster lunch in New Brunswick; is anyone else? We thought about the beer tasting excursion but were not excited to leave at 9am for beer ...

In Halifax, we are doing the adults only Peggy's Cove. I'm not as worried about that one for some reason.

Regardless, I'm sure we'll see you at Rockin Bar D as well. We're usually the only ones there at night. It will be good to have company!

We got our docs as well today. But it was a little anti-climactic since we don't really need those luggage tags because we'll already be on the cruise. :goodvibes

We are doing the adult only Peggy's Cove in Halifax and nothing booked for Saint John. We may just explore ourselves there.
