I went in for knee surgery last Friday. Can't wait to get this cruise going so I can forget about my aches and pains!!

Called DCL also to get our dining rotation request in. I hope they give it to us.

Only a few more days and we will be on our way!!! Can't wait!!

Hope the knee feels better quickly. I know how painful that can be.
I called DCL to request our dining rotation preference yesterday, so i'm with you hoping they come thru with it.
I also requested that they separate the beds into two singles in both rooms. We shall see if that happens. Our Mom's are traveling with us and not sure yet if they're staying together or my mom with me and DH mom with him.

Not yet. We are doing an overnight flight leaving Friday and getting in Saturday. I tried to get everyone to agree on coming in Thursday into Friday and then having Friday in Barcelona but my son doesnt want to. I think we are waiting till Jan or Feb to book the flight.

I wanted to do that but was vetoed! LOL! I figured we'll get on board relax and the next day is a sea day so we can sleep in.

Praying your knee feels better everyday! My mom did both her knees at the same time and my grandpa did them 4 years apart. If you need a scooter for the cruise I can give you the info from the company my mom is using.

Kristine, I've cruised with my mom 2 times before and they always split the beds for us. Also, I heard if it isn't done when you first arrive they can have it done by the time your finished dinner and the show.

I just made a good economic decision and cancelled our pre-cruise stay at
Ink48. We are going to take a New Jersey Transit train from Central NJ to Penn Station on Sunday morning. I just couldn't justify the $350 per night expense. We have a 11:00-11:30AM port arrival time and will probably get to
Penn Station at 10:30AM and take a cab to the port.
My back up plan is to drive, but we will take the North Jersey Coastline route, and if there is trouble there, we would take the Trenton line route.

Hello New Yorkers!!
I've been working on making plans for our Saturday only tour of NYC!
DH and I have not been there before and lots of walking isn't a problem!
We are staying at the Westin Times Square on Fri and Sat nights before our cruise. (Arrive 7pm ish on Friday so not much time available for touring)

What do you think of these options:
Would like to see:
Times Sq Disney Store
Hard Rock Cafe, long enough to buy a city T and pin
ABC Studios Times Sq- just to see the location I see every weekday morning
Rockefeller Plaza - Top of the Rock Observation (Is it ok to get a ticket when we get there?)
NYC main Library -- quick stop to see the original Pooh Bear they have on display there--Pooh is a part of our family.
Chelsea Market- a big foodie and Food Network fan
Central Park- I know it's LARGE, but if we go to the south end of it will we see something we "should" see? LOL

Is there something in this area that should be a must see for a newbie??

I know I'm missing the wonderful museums, but I'm afraid we'd never get out of the first one and I think I need to be a bit more touristy and try to "touch" the things I've heard of that means NYC to me!

I've seen there is a Hop on Hop Off Grayline tours bus. Would this be a good idea so we could see more sights or maybe go to Chinatown or have I already planned too much to do?

I've read we cruise past the Statue of Liberty as we leave port.

OK I'm ready for your suggestions now!!!!

You are in a good location at the Weston to get a lot of the times square stuff in. And right across from Shake Shack!

Chelsea market is really fun, but you need a couple of hours to get thru and it gets quite crowded. I would start there. You could also walk a bit of the Highline while down at Chelsea, it is an elevated park that was created on the old elevated train lines..

If you get up to Central Park , you might spend an our at the zoo, it is compact and has a lot of nice exhibits.

I'd probably skip top of the rock as it is touristy, but that is just me.

You might have time on Friday night for some of the shopping. Times square stays active until vey late.
