I don't dress either, enjoy the movies but yet to find a non-sexy plus size costume. We are good, LOL

I am glad someone agrees with me and will be holding my hand as we both walk the plank!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

The capt provided me with a special photo way back in the begnning of the Geeks. While I have possession I will not have the walk the plank, LOL. Still a great photo by the way Capt. Stick with me HP.

(although it may have been lost in the last HD failure on my old desktop PC.)

Actually, I'm not a huge pirate fan, I've only see POC one time!

Seems like a lot of us are in the "not fans" camp. I like pirates as a general thing (Rio even has a pirate themed room) and we DO get into dressing as pirates
for the party--but just general pirates. We all liked the first POTC movie pretty well, but we walked out on the second one (not fun at all and struck Dave and I both as far too violent and really focusing on the gore and "joy" in casuing pain to others) and never bothered to see the third one at all.
So how many of us are on a crusie whose DIS theme is themed to a series of movies we have not seen or do not care for anyway:rotfl2: :lmao: But I am seriously happy for those of you who do love them--it is always FUN to find something you love:thumbsup2

Hadley, I agree with you, but it is fun to watch - we will have a whole line walking the plank. I do love to watch everyone dress up. Plus my DD is scared to death of the whole thing. I LOVE the ride!!!!

:rotfl: No wonder Marika and Abby get along so well:thumbsup2 Marika was scared half to death by the little bit of te first movie she saw and she never saw any of the second movie but she still is scared of the Davey Jones addin imagery on the ride (that part was down when we went to WDW in September:banana: ) Marika does NOT do scary (now Rio on the other hand:rolleyes1 )

I am laughing because Davey Jones is still down and when I asked Abby to go on the ride, she said I hate that thing that is projected and you ride under it. Thank God it was down! That is all she talked about - she didn't miss it! Abby called Marika today to say Hey! Rio likes scarey? That really surprises me - he still seems so young to me.

That was meant to be how me and Dan were doing it but now he's buying me the wii and I'm getting the extra controller and some games! Ours was despatched on Friday so fingers crossed well have it soon

I decided to splurge and ordered a Wii for DH for Christmas!
It came in yesterday. It was SO hard not giving it too him right then and there!
Our anniversary is on Sunday, so I was tempted to give it to him for that, but I really want to see his suprise when he opens it Christmas morning.

I will be doing my wrapping on Friday, so the temptation to give it early will hopefully diminish.

That sounds like fun! I would be tempted to give the gift early too. I did most of my shopping online so I just have to wait for everything to come in, but going out tomorrow for a few hours. We are seeing Bolt 3-D on Thursday at 4:30! Hopefully it won't be too crowded. Have a great Thanksgiving to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like a real dork because I have not seen any of the POC. :confused3

I guess I will continue to be a bystander.

Have a great Holiday everyone

No worries! I am a POTC fan, but I'm not a fanatic. My favorite movie was the first one, but the second one has special sentimental value since it was the movie my DF and I saw on our first date.

My twin loves the ride at the parks but she doesn't like the movies. Everybody is different.

The way that I look at it is that I am going on a cruise with an awesome group from the Dis and I can't wait! Pirates or no pirates, regardless of what you like, we're all going to have a great time! :thumbsup2

We need a dance for the plank walking, if we have to do it, it should be fun!

:flower3:
Lynne (the original Aunty Lynne,lol)

So glad to meet another Lynne - I'll let you have the honor of being the "original," since that usually denotes older. :rotfl:

Still not a pirate or wench, but am looking forward to the sea days.

Okay, I will admit it now, I haven't seen any of them either, well maybe the first one. Not a big pirate girl either. I was afraid to tell anyone that I might have to walk the plank. I am glad there is someone like me!

Looks like the line is getting longer and longer for the plank walking

I love that other people get into it and I can enjoy watching them. Does that count for anything????:confused3

I am glad someone agrees with me and will be holding my hand as we both walk the plank!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

What a relief. I am not alone. Although I suspected there were others out their shivering in their boots that the pirates might come aboard and have their way with us, pillaging, looting and the like.

I hope you pirates notice we are friendlies who would not like to call in parley.

Saw Bolt (non-3D) at a Monday afternoon feature; we were the only ones there.

Happy Thanksgiving y'all
pluto: :tigger: :stitch2: :goofy: :dumbo: :simba: pooh: :tinker: Lynne

Lynne, how did you like the movie?

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!

I fell asleep during it.

It's definitely not a little kids' movie (IMO). We couldn't figure out who the target audience was. I'd put it at likability with Ratatouille. Not as good as CARS, NEMO...

....hey everyone!

I know, I know....I've been gone from this board from ages...and I've started to get emails from my friends on here wondering if I'm still alive.....well I am just so busy I have not time for the boards lately....not even enough time to lurk honestly.......so I'm glad you've all slowed down and I only had about 12 pages to catch up on!! (If I'd spent that much time away from the boards 3 months ago I'd have come back to 50 pages to read!!! :lmao: )

Anyhow...life is crazy here...too much work...cheerleading practice is taking up so much time as we try to get my girls into shape and get their routine together for competition season which starts after the holidays leading into our national invitational in Atlanta over the Valentine's weekend (which, ironically, is also my and Jason's six year anniversary! :lovestruc ). The only other major news on this end is that about a week and a half ago I got into a car accident (no injuries to anyone...so no need to worry) and my insurance company decided my car is a total loss and not worth fixing....so I had 10 days to find a new car, but it, and take possession!! :scared1: So my big Thanksgiving festivity is that Jason is getting out of work early today (i have had this entire week off work) and we're going to pick my my brand new (to me, anway) car: a white 2007 Volkswagon Jetta with only 4500 miles on it, sunroof, and power everything. It was a steal and is quite an upgrade from my previous car (a 2001 base model power nothing Kia Spectra). So I guess I'm making my proverbial lemonade from my proverbial lemons!! :woohoo:

Anyhow....I've tried to skim and look over what I missed....sounds like most are doing well with wedding plans and debating the merits of the POTC films :rotfl: :rotfl: (and, for the record, we saw all 3 but we tend to agree with Hadley's bunch....we liked the first one but were less enthused about the other two).....

.....and one other exciting update we noticed.......:welcome: Welcome DizzneyDAnn!! :welcome: How fantastic to see another old DCL friend joining us on this trip!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Also...for everyone.....I know I promised I'd start the ball rolling on a roll call to sign up for lanyards for this trip...and that IS still going to happen....I promise...news to come after Thanksgiving!!!

Howdy everyone,
This will be my last post until 12/8/08 because after today I wont be near a computer and then on saturday I will be on the Magic:woohoo: :woohoo:

If I get the chance I may post once from the ship but we usually dont have time to worry about getting on line when we are cruising.

Today I pack, make pies for tomorrow. Leave early tomorrow for DDs house (115 miles away) for Thanksgiivng, then on to MIL's house in Potland to spend the night since she is only 40 minutes from the airport.
Friday we leave her place at 3:30 a.m. for a 6 a.m. flight to Florida. Will spend the night at the Hyatt, then get on the DCL bus as early as we can and head for the port:yay: :yay: :yay:

Have a great Thanksgivng everyone and I will post when we return.

Kathy
