You are such a naughty noodle Noel:lmao:
Oh, screaming on trampolines!!!!! I don't mind happy children playing noises, but the screaming.:sad2: I really can't understand why parent's don't nip that in the bud to be honest as there really is no need.

We have a huge trampoline in the garden behind, which comes close to our garden, which is narrow at that point. all 3 children scream and annoy each other, and they are a boy 14, and 2 girls 12 and 6. Now the 6 year old I can just about understand but.....! You can't enjoy your garden around here when they are on the trampoline to be sure.
Noisy kids I do, I just send the beagles out and they bark and howl to their heads content.:lmao:
Off to my appointment with the Insurance Claims Adjuster who will inspect my car. Talk to you guys later!!

Good Luck:hug: let us know how it goes.

Ok as an owner of a smart car. I actually feel safer in it than in our Yaris. Why because it is made around titenium roll cage, 4 airbags etc. Have you ever seen the demo of what happens to a smart car when crashed into a wall at 75 miles an hour. It bounces off the wall and you can still open the doors. However at that speed you would die from impact anyways.

:goodvibes

Yey another SMART owner here :goodvibes

Best thing i ever did buying my little smart, though i'm 6 foot+ tall people find it hillarious when i tell them thats what i drive

BEEP BEEP

WELCOME Sue and Karen! Hope you can keep up with the chatty crowd here...

As folks have said, don't forget to get signed up for free lanyards and wristbands, let's see if we can't break the 300 DISers landmark!!!

SW

Wow!!! I leave Thursday morning and get home yesterday night and there is 58 pages!!! Thank goodness I don't have any more trips planned before the cruise!!

Hubby and I drove down to a little town called Arbovale, WV which is right next to Green Bank Observatory. It took us just over four and half hours which was great time.

.

That looks like a lovely spot you were staying in. I love getting away from it all.

ewwww ... you mean there is more than one :eek:

Oh, I would hold it too! :scared1: I can hold it for a VERY long time under certain circumstances! This would be one of those circumstances. ;) :rolleyes1

Spent some time in Japan, once you get out of the big cities, these facilities look like the Ritz! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Our daughter has 4 children, and boy, they can be noisy too.:scared1: I was so glad we didn't live next to them.:rotfl2: Fortunately they are growing up a bit now, so are quietening down somewhat!!

My son's the drummer for his band :rockband: And everyone knows, the band ALWAYS practices at the drummer's house!

Andrea

I think that I can deal with it... However how do you prep a 6 ear old for this? Or a 13 year old? I am sure he is used to be ing stared at, but I ami not sure I want my kids to doe the staring... :rotfl:

I think that is the whole point of him doing it. The guy I was talking about has body painted shorts on, so hopefully they might not notice.

Hi fellow cruisers, I'm Sue, a new cruiser, mother of 'noworriesmate' and grandmother to Nicholas and Lillian. I'm delighted to be joining them on this Atlantic crossing, and certainly look forward to meeting you all.

HI Sue, welcome aboard.

Hi everyone!
Just popping by to let you know that I'm booking this cruise as a last minute 'sanity saver' for myself!!! My name's Karen, I'm from the UK and this will be my 6th DCL cruise and by far my longest to date! I expect to be in a Cat 7 with late dining.

It'll be a solo trip (my first and I'm more than a little nervous TBH) as the primary purpose is to escape from the Crazy Castle my home has become during a problematic and protracted building/refurb project - such a long and boring story.... :sad2: Anyway, I'm sailing in search of R&R plus the chance to spend some time with friends old and new!!

So I guess the most important thing at this stage is to ask if someone could let me know what (if anything) is left to sign up for - I would be most grateful. :goodvibes

OK, the introduction's over - better go and compile a packing list. Can't believe I'm doing this!!! :woohoo:

Hi Karen, great to see you are on board with us :woohoo::woohoo: As you have already been directed to pages 1 and 2 I won't repeat it, but we also have our roll call website and you need to go sign up on there.

www.transatlanticpirates.com

Hello Marilyn!!! A boozy cruise!!??? OMG, no!!!! And there was I hoping to use this unexpected 'alone' time to treat my body like a temple.. :lmao: ;) Oh well - it's be rude not to join in, methinks...

Boozy ... I think thats the understatement of the century :rotfl2:

:headache:Im in a bad mood cause I was really busy at work last night and needed a sleep, summer and nightshift just doesnt go, its not our neighbours fault but they are "doing my head in" every time I shut my eyes they turn on some kinda noisyn machine:sad1: Anyway, gave up on sleep, being tired is better than frustrated and tired, waiting for Len to come in and going for a run.

Speak to you guys from work tonight, Lynne

Sorry to hear you have had a bad day trying to sleep. I hate it when that happens.:mad:

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Noel you are too funny !!!

I typed "naked man Barcelona" and got a frontal R-rated video in the top results. :scared1: "Food" was in the title as well. I can't believe it hasn't been taken off YouTube!

I can't believe you two actually googled it !!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I have the terrific job of cleaning my dd's room (with her help). She is 10 and a packrat. We have spent an hour just hauling things out of her room and aren't finished yet. We are sorting, purging and organizing. As a reward we are buying her a new desk for all her drawing supplies and having sushi for dinner. I hope my dust allergies settle down before then! Her room is truly horrible. Wish me luck! My mom Tru promised to call me later to make sure I was still alive. Currently I am on break with a cup of homemade chai. Yum.

That must be a Taryn thing for sure. My Taryn is a hoarder and her room is a terrible mess miost of the time. I have asked her to sort it out and have promised her a new drawing table for her trouble. Small world !!

My son's the drummer for his band :rockband: And everyone knows, the band ALWAYS practices at the drummer's house!

Andrea

Oh my.:headache: I think one of our grandson's wanted drums, but was discouraged!!!! He plays the guitar now so a little quieter!

Good place to buy beer and wine? What's HRC?

Hard Rock Cafe.

Price wise, decent. You can probably find cheaper if you look but this place has everything. Sorta like a Wal-mart except you want to shop here. Clothing, grocery, liquor store, health and beauty, LUGGAGE, appliances, LUGGAGE, travel agency, electronics, LUGGAGE and even lladros. You want it? They'll have it. Did I mention they sell luggage? :lmao:

I have always managed to come home with an extra piece apart from my extra piece of luggage and they are usually on sale. :)

I can imagine many Europeans think we Americans are pretty inhibited about our bodies. I am not too modest but only wish I looked better in the buff.

I have heard that the Germans who like to go to the nude beach on St. Maarten are all over 50 and not bathing beauties either!

Thanks Laura. From the map it appears to be pretty far from the Columbus monument. I might have to make other plans. I was just going to drop my bags off Saturday morning then take the shuttle to town and wander a bit. Most importantly I have to visit la Boqueria since I missed it on my last trip.

OH YES! I wholeheartedly agree. that place. I go there even if its just to walk around one stall. Fresh fruit is amazing. Sometimes expensive depending on time. But love the food. Walking at a fast pace, might take you 15-20 minutes. Its lugging all the stuff back. But if you need a suitcase, pack it in there. That's what I did lol.

did you see the post to put in sizes for the wristbands that a group of us are giving to everyone?

Krisann

No, but thank you so much for the update. I will check it out.

Welcome. SOunds like you could use some R&R

I am a hug genealogy buff and have tons of family history on both of our families. John is a Mayflower descendant so that is how I got interested in family history.

QUOTE]

Diane's family is also Mayflower descendant . Two Bellington (sp) boys nearly burnt down the Mayflower on the vouage to US. Boys being boys. HEHEHEHEHE :thumbsup2

Walt :cool1:

So there will be 3 descendants on this cruise. MY DH, is a descendant of John Hopkins. Who had the only child born on the sailing. Her name was "Oceana." Now I hope you 3 do not repeat the behaviors of you ancestors. With almost burning down the ship, and having a baby onboard. This is way to much excitement to have to endure again.:rotfl2:

QUESTION...

For all you cruise vetrans.

It's clear lots of folks here have sailed together before...

With so many sailing per year, are there ones that particularly attract DISers ? I can only speak for myself. What attracts me is price, specal destinations and temperture. We typically sail in early November. It is low season and the tep is cooler, but warm enough to still snorkel and swim.

(clearly the PODCAST cruise so don't mention that ;))

and, forgive the question but,

After the WBTA what would you say will be the next cruise to draw such a big crowd??? Our next cruise will be Alaska and then will will probably do a November cruise on the Dream"

I say a "big crowd" but is 300 Disers on a cruise unusual? How many would you say you'd generally find on the standard 4 day sailing? It is not a huge number when you are talking about special sailings. Also more and more people are learning about this group of folks and joining.

lots of questions there i know

Thanks

SW

First of all...it's the longer cruises. You're likely to see far less DIS activity on the 3 and 4 night cruises taht are currently done with the Wonder (unless they're special cruises like the podcast). Also I would say things like the podcast and the DVC member cruise draw big DIS crowds. Also "special" cruises...like repo cruises (Panama Canal, TA, etc.) and any INAUGURAL cruise....so the first Alaskan has a lively DIS bunch....and I would wager money that the first sailing of the Dream probably has a huge DIS crowd, too. Many of the DIS cruisers are seasoned cruisers....and so they like the "new things." I've heard that holiday cruises often have large DIS groups, too.

Now...all that said...I think there's pretty much a DIS presence on almost EVERY sailing....the difference is just how BIG that presence is and just how ACTIVE (like, for example, we should be pretty clear that this group for the WBTA is a little crazy about planning and organizing and socializing! :lmao::lmao: A couple of my DIS chat-friends from the LGBT boards just happened to look at our thread and to the first couple pages of posts and I think they're exact quote was "Holy Spreadsheets, Batman!" :rotfl2::rotfl2:)

:thumbsup2 I can vouch for Laura always bringing home an extra piece of luggage!!! That is why she brings Steve along....to carry it all off the ship!!! :lmao:

We should try the bathrooms for the amazing experience... ok, if you say so...
:rotfl:

As you will see below, if you find a bathroom with a seat on it - PAY WHAT YOU HAVE TOO. USE IT! Oh and roll (TP) if you have too. They don't always have TP. :rotfl2:

:scared1: But I didn't know that about the airbags. Good to know.

These are the women's toilets in the food hall/market in St. Petersburg....the had the nerve to charge 15 rubles to use them! I held it!

::yes:: them be what I remember at the truck stop. Also, remind me to tell you the story (has to be done in person) of the soccer coach and her slip over the first picture one. :lmao::rotfl2::lmao: Priceless. Although, we were NOT ALLOWED to mention that for about 3 days and even to this day 18 months later, she only grits her teeth and changes the conversation. :lmao::rotfl:

:thumbsup2 I can vouch for Laura always bringing home an extra piece of luggage!!! That is why she brings Steve along....to carry it all off the ship!!! :lmao:

I have gotten much better and only bringing 1 suitcase. Although, Might have to bring 2 with this one. :scratchin

Wow, when are they going to close this one.
