OK for those of you in the UK who have seen or heard mention of the Newport State of Mind video on you tube that reached over 1,000,000 hits in 3 days and has become an over night success (it works off the New York State of Mind by Jay Z and Alicia Keys as the basis) I wanted to share this with everyone. Its all about the Town where I live

You Tube

I just watched it! It's hilarious.....love it love it love it!

Or ... "you must be this tall to ride"

:rotfl:
You just took that to another level and I love it,:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:
Hi fellow cruisers, I'm Sue, a new cruiser, mother of 'noworriesmate' and grandmother to Nicholas and Lillian. I'm delighted to be joining them on this Atlantic crossing, and certainly look forward to meeting you all.
Hi Sue, welcome to our friendly bunch.:grouphug:
We (me and Len ) are traveling with my newly retired parents, we are from scotland.

Hi everyone!
Just popping by to let you know that I'm booking this cruise as a last minute 'sanity saver' for myself!!! My name's Karen, I'm from the UK and this will be my 6th DCL cruise and by far my longest to date! I expect to be in a Cat 7 with late dining.

It'll be a solo trip (my first and I'm more than a little nervous TBH) as the primary purpose is to escape from the Crazy Castle my home has become during a problematic and protracted building/refurb project - such a long and boring story.... :sad2: Anyway, I'm sailing in search of R&R plus the chance to spend some time with friends old and new!!

So I guess the most important thing at this stage is to ask if someone could let me know what (if anything) is left to sign up for - I would be most grateful. :goodvibes

OK, the introduction's over - better go and compile a packing list. Can't believe I'm doing this!!! :woohoo:

Whawh Karen, cant believe your coming.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

:
Now ... on to my question....
I know these pieces of art are in Bacelona. They are of Ramon Berenguer III Count of Barcelona. He's family and I want to take pics of all I can.
Q: Where is he ... a museum or ??? where???
Im bringing some genelogy with me so we can look up dead relatives:rolleyes1
TIA
Annie:flower3:

Hey, don't feel bad about looking up dead relatives! I am a genealogy nut too, I don't have any relatives from Catalonia, but just ask Jon and Marie about Canterbury, UK! I am related to all the dead people in the Cathedral there! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

and don't ask my husband about wandering around the cemeteries in Yorkshire, either.

Hi Karen! Have a look at page 1 & 2 for all the gossip on whats going on! Its my 6th DCL cruise but I'm travelling with my other half Dan who has never been on any cruise before so its going to be an experience.
Thank you, Sarah - to pages 1 & 2 I go... :thumbsup2

...I think you can still join all the boozy tastings. Boy folks on this cruise like their booze!!!:lmao:
Hello Marilyn!!! A boozy cruise!!??? OMG, no!!!! And there was I hoping to use this unexpected 'alone' time to treat my body like a temple.. :lmao: ;) Oh well - it's be rude not to join in, methinks...

Hi Kaz!:cheer2:

The first few pages has all the things going on.....think you can still still sign up for tastings, lanyards and FEs if you want to....:cool1:

Have you sorted out your flight to Barcelona yet?

This is so exciting!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

:littleangel:
Hello, Mandy!!! Thanks again for your input in this decision...

Welcome aboard. Not sure if there are any t-shirts but take a look on the first page for a link to our pirate web page. There you will find the logos we are using so if you want you can print it on iron on paper and make your own shirt.

I believe Strawberry FE froup is still open. Champagne girls is always open. It is where you wear a pink shirt, tiara ( cheap cheap) and a pink boa. If you do not have one Cquick is organizing this and said she is bring extras.

Check out the wrist band and give your size. Most of this stuff can be found in the last 10 pages :: Good luck. This thread moves fast so if you do not check for a day do not be surprised you are having to read 20 pages :lmao:

My biggest suggestion read pages backwards :)
Great suggestion - thank you... :worship:

(I may have helped give Kaz a gentle nudge about the cruise btw...well, some encouragement anyway) ;)
Gentle???!!! :scared1: If that was gentle, I do NOT want to experience FIRM!! Of course, I jest - you were VERY encouraging.. As was Michelle. Is she here yet..? ;)

:headache:Im in a bad mood cause I was really busy at work last night and needed a sleep, summer and nightshift just doesnt go, its not our neighbours fault but they are "doing my head in" every time I shut my eyes they turn on some kinda noisyn machine:sad1: Anyway, gave up on sleep, being tired is better than frustrated and tired, waiting for Len to come in and going for a run.

Speak to you guys from work tonight, Lynne

I've been very busy taking care of DGD2. She and her mother have been staying w/us since their air conditioner decided to die in the middle of this 90-100 heat wave last week :scared1: . Unfortunately, this morning the baby woke up w/a fever ~102 degrees. Since DD had to work, guess who had a sick baby today? It's so hard seeing them looking like little wilted flowers, no energy, no appetite, no interest in anything. I hope she's feeling better in the morning, poor baby.

:grouphug:Oh,poor baby and poor you. What a terrible time to lose A/C, especially in VA! Hope things get better soon. :grouphug:

Welcome Karen! Hope you get the R and R you are hoping for!

My DD gives the kids Dramamine which puts them to sleep. They wake up refreshed and raring to go.

We have the kids' Gravol already packed! I'm going to give it to them with dinner on the plane in hopes they get a few hours' rest on the plane. I might take some myself.

I am so sorry. I tried to catch up and read the posts, but in two days you guys were very chatty. I hope I did not miss anything good.

I wanted to share another artice of one of my patients that made the front page today. My granddaughters were so excited to read my name in the paper. I also have two videos I took pf her on her last day doing stairs.

I hope you all are as inspired as I am by Jackie's determination. My two oder granddaughters (14, 10) were really moved by the story today.

Thank for letting me share.

Very inspiring story. What a strong woman. And what a great team you have!

Well, that might be our answer to the packing problems - don't bring any clothes. We would certainly be able to recognize each other :scared1:

Mom- I am not going on the cruise with you if you go nekkid. I'll pretend I don't know you! :rotfl:

Wow Noel, that's quite the video. Did you have to preview very many before you found one to post?

Oh, poor you. Have you tried earplugs, or a white noise machine?

Have a look at "edit your profile" and see if theres anything that says "allow pms"

I really hate PMS!

Mine blocks anything it sees as personal use, mind you this doesn't include the Dis boards lol. It also doesn't seem to block Google documents just Google Spreadsheets and Zoho files.

Ours blocks more for security reasons and less to control people's behaviours. Certain sites are marked as high risk due to their ability to introduce viruses and other problems.

Welcome to our new folks! Hope you have great speed reading skills. You need it to keep up with this group. It goes 24 hours a day since we have people across the various time zones.

Yes, depending on what it is they work, but a ride on lawn mower going past your window every 2 mins is a non starter, screaming on a trampoline,
Anyway, Im in a better mood now I have coffee, Its my choice to work it:cool2:it suits me most of the time so I shouldnt moan, but thanks for listning to me:hug:

I have a 32 year old son with cerebral palsy, (yes, he'll be with us) so I partly understand the determination this young woman has! She is truly amazing. And since we've worked with so many rehab people, I know that YOUR support can make all the difference too!

Oh, screaming on trampolines!!!!! I don't mind happy children playing noises, but the screaming.:sad2: I really can't understand why parent's don't nip that in the bud to be honest as there really is no need.

We have a huge trampoline in the garden behind, which comes close to our garden, which is narrow at that point. all 3 children scream and annoy each other, and they are a boy 14, and 2 girls 12 and 6. Now the 6 year old I can just about understand but.....! You can't enjoy your garden around here when they are on the trampoline to be sure.

Welcome aboard....there's just a few days left to get in on getting yourself a (free) custom lanyard for the cruise, too. If you want a lanyard and name badge for this trip, shoot me a PM ASAP with your Dis name, First name (as you want it to appear on the name badge) and your room # (and if you're on teh B2B with the last Med, let us know that too).

While I'm inviting Custardtart to get in on the lanyards, this seems a prudent time to remind everyone that we are in the home stretch here, folks......

Jason and I are printing the lanyard name badges beginning next week!!!

So if you have not requested your lanyard(s) yet and/or have not gone onto the spreadsheet to confirm and proofread your info....PLEASE DO SO BEFORE THE END OF THE DAY ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 1ST!!!

The lanyard list can be viewed online HERE.

If you need to make any changes or corrections OR if you want to request lanyards (at this point I have only 19 left!!), then shoot me a PM or you can email me at wbtalanyards@yahoo.com
