Thanks....
Tom

No they belong to our good friends. They do love it when we come cause it means double loving, scratches, brushings,,you get the idea!!!

Oh, yes. Moogie (our DDog) is a Golden too. And our elder DDog Frieda died two years ago. A Golden also.

I LOVE Goldens!

:thumbsup2 I can vouch for Laura always bringing home an extra piece of luggage!!! That is why she brings Steve along....to carry it all off the ship!!! :lmao:
Sounds fair enough to me;)

Sorry,I dont know

You are such a naughty noodle Noel:lmao:

I love that expression. May I borrow it?

Noisy kids I do, I just send the beagles out and they bark and howl to their heads content.:lmao:

I think that might quiet the kids a bit and if parents complain, tell them if they quiet the kids, you quiet the dogs. After all, all is fair between kids and dogs...

Good Luck:hug: let us know how it goes.

In and out of Claims adjuster with check in hand. Repair estimate is about $2300.00 and Allstate will pay more if required. Now, SIL Peter is finding best body shop to do repair for us. Only other issue is that we don't carry rental car coverage but must ask other insurance company to reimburse so waiting to hear how to proceed on rental car.

I got my haircut this afternoon, so you know what that means? ONLY ONE MORE APPOINTMENT BEFORE THE CRUISE!!! I have my fresh cut and color scheduled the day before I leave! :yay:

Here is my tv interview with Jackie. She is amazing and this is definately worth watching....

She truly is inspirational!! You did a great job, too! I know you were trying to avoid the spotlight, but you spoke of her so well!!n You and your team should be very proud of all you do!

QUESTION...

For all you cruise vetrans.

It's clear lots of folks here have sailed together before...

With so many sailing per year, are there ones that particularly attract DISers ?

(clearly the PODCAST cruise so don't mention that ;))

....I say a "big crowd" but is 300 Disers on a cruise unusual? How many would you say you'd generally find on the standard 4 day sailing?...

I agree with Eric as to which ones attract DISers.

Erik, Jason, Melodie, Dave, Amy, Steffi, Sandi, Trisha, and Ben (I think I forgot someone, too) were on my last DCL cruise in September 2008, which was also my first with DCL. That was an AMAZING group of people, and we were high in the numbers! I took a look at our stats, and here are some of the key ones. As you see, we had nearly 500 people from DISboards!!!!! I was crazy-nuts keeping track of everyone and didn't just rely on who signed up on a website, so the numbers are extremely accurate.

158 Cabins accounted for (DISers, family, extended family, and friends)
473 Total People
174 Kids under age 18 (broken out of the total)
4 Sets of Twins (DD4, DD10, DD12, and DD14)
57 Cabins without children/101 Cabins with children
25 Adults with parents and/or grandparents traveling with them
5 Countries represented (Canada, Germany, New Zealand, United Kingdom, USA)
31 States in the US represented

Now factors as to what might have created those large numbers are as follows:

  • time of year (after most schools started back)
  • lower prices because of the hurricane season and back-to-school time
  • special 7 night cruise (originally was to have gone to Costa Maya plus it was a double dip)
  • first cruise after the Magic had been out of commission for 2 weeks for dry dock (they later added a 3 day cruise before ours thinking they would be finished with Dry Dock early)

PS: You can also see what an amazing job Jason and Erik did on our lanyards in the linked post above.

After the WBTA what would you say will be the next cruise to draw such a big crowd???

lots of questions there i know

Thanks

I think after our cruise, the Wonder's Westbound Panama Canal cruise in January 2011 is the next big featured attraction, followed closely by the maiden voyage of the Dream at the end of the month. (And yes, there are DISers who are doing both!)

There are always more DISers on a cruise than are present or active in the meet thread. And DISers are only a portion of the total number of cruisers (though we clearly have more fun!)

Welcome aboard....there's just a few days left to get in on getting yourself a (free) custom lanyard for the cruise, too. If you want a lanyard and name badge for this trip, shoot me a PM ASAP with your Dis name, First name (as you want it to appear on the name badge) and your room # (and if you're on teh B2B with the last Med, let us know that too).

PM sent... :flower3:

So I had some fun with my return flights from Orlando to Phila today. Back in March when I booked, my DS and DIL wanted to book Airtran. I tried for Southwest but they wanted to be able to book a definite seat. So, I booked us for October 4th at 10AM arriving back in Phila around 12:30 (it's my DIL birthday that day - along with her Mom and twin sister not to mention that her Dad's birthday is the day before - so they traditionally go out to dinner to celebrate their birthdays and she wanted to be back in plenty of time to do this). We paid ($20/each) for exit row seats and I had row 18A, B and C.

Now I've had issues previously with Airtran so I've been watching it but haven't checked recently. I decided to check the flight to see how booked up is was and when looking at the seating plan for the flight I see that they have and 18A, C, D, E and F but no B and it's not an exit row. At that point I checked the flight number and then realized that it was now leaving at 8AM. This is way to early since we'll be at the MNSSHP the night before so I check their website and the only direct flights are now this one at 8AM or 4:30 in the afternoon not arriving home until close to 7PM.

The worst thing about this is that I've never received any notification!!! :furious: I expect that they probably would have notified me about two weeks out so I would not have time to cancel and book at a decent price somewhere else!

On top of this when I pulled up my confirmation on line, it now showed me in seat 18A, my DIL in 18C and for my DS it simply said "---" so he didn't even have a seat. I called them and they have now canceled my reservation and will refund me my money (of course within 5-7 business days!).

The good news is that since I found this early enough, I was able to get seats on Southwest and I paid to have the early check-in so we should have no issues of getting seats close together. I saved money and we don't have to pay for luggage!!!

I told my DIL we can do more shopping and pick up a cheap suitcase since we can now bring 2 suitcases each for the way home. :yay:

We certainly do think alike. I have my color and cut scheduled on Friday as we leave on Monday. DH and I do our mani/pedi's on Monday before we leave at 3PM so we have fresh nails and feet!!

I love that you are tracking all the statistics. We are all going to have to figure out a really great trip to do again with this group say in 2012. What do you guys think? By 2012, there should be more options and gives the rest of us plenty of time to obsess about the trip.

Aren't there rumours of Hawaii in 2012?

Sounds like fun to me!!! Meeting new friends and traveling with old friends makes it that much better. When we cruised (with Kimberly) in 2008 on the double dip cruise, I had my Mom with me. She had been on three 4-days cruises before this but always with our extended family so we traveled with 15-20 people. She was concerned as to having only 4 of us going on the 2008 cruise but I and my DIL had been active in the cruise meet thread and had gotten to know (electronically) alot of great people so by the time we were on the cruise it was like traveling with a huge family of people. My Mom loved it.

Glad your all sorted:thumbsup2
The "naughty noodle" thing started at work, we had a dog in called noodle, he was totaly naughty with the same amount of cuteness, I called him naughty noodle all the time, when I get a new vet they think Im mad cause I make up names(and sometimes songs:rolleyes1)for them.

division of administrative geography in the UK is the 4 countries - England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. ...

Do we have Northern Ireland representative?

Yes, and if they have the new area open there, I am sure up for that!! I love Hawaii. When I was younger, I used to take kids for the weekend.

I feel as if I have always wanted to go to Hawaii. It seems so romantic and faraway!!!

Canada! We could split the UK up. We have folks from Scotland, Wales and England. I'm not sure about NI though.
