Hi fellow cruisers, I'm Sue, a new cruiser, mother of 'noworriesmate' and grandmother to Nicholas and Lillian. I'm delighted to be joining them on this Atlantic crossing, and certainly look forward to meeting you all.

Welcome Sue. I am Trudy (Tru) also a new cruiser travelling with my daughter (Terapin), my dsil, 2, dgs 2 dgd. I look forward to meeting you. We can compare "newbie" notes.

IT'S A GOLDEN DAY!!!
:goofy:MY DEPARTURE COUNTDOWN IS T-50!!!
:tigger:

Hello, Sue! How exciting that you get to share this wonderful trip with your family!!! Welcome!

Hi everyone!
Just popping by to let you know that I'm booking this cruise as a last minute 'sanity saver' for myself!!! My name's Karen...It'll be a solo trip (my first and I'm more than a little nervous TBH) as the primary purpose is to escape from the Crazy Castle my home has become during a problematic and protracted building/refurb project ....

Sounds like you need the vacation! WELCOME TO THE GROUP! I'm Kimberly, and I'm also doing a solo to escape the reality itself and the reality of the milestone birthday! I figure it can't be too bad celebrating on the Magic with lots of wonderful friends!

Hi everyone!
Just popping by to let you know that I'm booking this cruise as a last minute 'sanity saver' for myself!!! My name's Karen, I'm from the UK and this will be my 6th DCL cruise and by far my longest to date! I expect to be in a Cat 7 with late dining.

WELCOME Sue and Karen! I'm Andrea, traveling with my husband Greg, on our 4th DCL cruise--really looking forward to it.

OK for those of you in the UK who have seen or heard mention of the Newport State of Mind video on you tube that reached over 1,000,000 hits in 3 days and has become an over night success (it works off the New York State of Mind by Jay Z and Alicia Keys as the basis) I wanted to share this with everyone. Its all about the Town where I live

You Tube

Loved the video!! Understood some of the words, especially Newport, but was glad for the subtitles.....

It'll be a solo trip (my first and I'm more than a little nervous TBH) as the primary purpose is to escape from the Crazy Castle my home has become during a problematic and protracted building/refurb project - such a long and boring story.... :sad2: Anyway, I'm sailing in search of R&R plus the chance to spend some time with friends old and new!!

So I guess the most important thing at this stage is to ask if someone could let me know what (if anything) is left to sign up for - I would be most grateful. :goodvibes

OK, the introduction's over - better go and compile a packing list. Can't believe I'm doing this!!! :woohoo:

Welcome to you both! I am also Andrea, traveling with DH and 2 sons. Please join the strawberry FE group! Send a PM to KrisannB to do this!

This is what I would do. Save picture ar jpeg. Then open a word document. I would put it 8.5 X 11. Then insert picture. You can then make it fit that way.

Since you can size it to fit on the 8.5 X 11 letter sheet.

That is how I make mine hope it helps.

I'll have to give this a try. I saved it as a picture, but I guess now I'll try to save the picture as a word document and try it that way.

Welcome!! We are Dennis and Angie. You can meet many of us "gently aged" folks at Cove Cafe for the Geezer and Geezer in Training Meets. No need to sign up for this, there is no list as some Geezer would just lose it anyway. :confused3:lmao:

Ok as an owner of a smart car. I actually feel safer in it than in our Yaris. Why because it is made around titenium roll cage, 4 airbags etc. Have you ever seen the demo of what happens to a smart car when crashed into a wall at 75 miles an hour. It bounces off the wall and you can still open the doors. However at that speed you would die from impact anyways.

:goodvibes

Oh we own a Yaris! Love the litte toad. We bought it because they are perfect to tow behind the RV (manual transmission) and have grown to love it. We really, really wanted a Smart car since they also tow nicely, but we decided since this would be our only car after retirement that we needed room for a grandkid or two occasionally. Both are very safe in accidents. :thumbsup2

As said before... Geezer meets in the evenings at Cove Cafe, you need not sign up, you need not be an official Geezer, we Geezers are more than willing to train younger folks on how Geezing should be done. :thumbsup2

These are the women's toilets in the food hall/market in St. Petersburg....the had the nerve to charge 15 rubles to use them! I held it!

Oh, I would hold it too! :scared1: I can hold it for a VERY long time under certain circumstances! This would be one of those circumstances. ;) :rolleyes1

Welcome Sue. I am Trudy (Tru) also a new cruiser travelling with my daughter (Terapin), my dsil, 2, dgs 2 dgd. I look forward to meeting you. We can compare "newbie" notes.

Trudy, you too should come visit the Geezers!

That's a good hint. Maybe a Celsius converter is handy too?
I also have to use one. I don't have much clue about Fahrenheit...

Temperatures Converter.

Great idea!!! I think we should also have a Fahrenheit to Celsius Converter as well.

Sarah, maybe all of these conversion links could go into the Navigator as some of us will be looking at the Navigator online.

First I had to think about what you guys mean with "optional clothing" beaches.
Not that I would "do" it. But... well... I'm pretty European, I guess
I can imagine many Europeans think we Americans are pretty inhibited about our bodies. I am not too modest but only wish I looked better in the buff.

Welcome Sue!! We are John and Noel, also fellow GP's though our GK's are not travelling with us this time due to school schedules. Looking forward to meeting you as well!!

Welcome aboard Karen!! We are John and Noel. There are plenty of things happening on this cruise. I am organizing a private tour in Madeira you may be interested in joining. See post #9 on this thread. There are a few custom lanyard pins still available. You can PM me or Connie at con5421 if you are interested. Todd (DisneyVegas1) is going to let us know in a few days if there are any of the shirts customized for this cruise still available. I think there may be a FE group still open to join.

Best thing to do is check the first page of this thread. New part #8 will be opening so just a heads up that most of the same information will be available there with more updated information.

Wow Noel, that's quite the video. Did you have to preview very many before you found one to post?

Actually, I just typed in Naked man Barcelona and he popped right up
.

I am a hug genealogy buff and have tons of family history on both of our families. John is a Mayflower descendant so that is how I got interested in family history.

Diane's family is also Mayflower descendant . Two Bellington (sp) boys nearly burnt down the Mayflower on the vouage to US. Boys being boys. HEHEHEHEHE :thumbsup2

Sure, Noel, sure. I believe you. Uh huh. ;)

Oh, screaming on trampolines!!!!! I don't mind happy children playing noises, but the screaming.:sad2: I really can't understand why parent's don't nip that in the bud to be honest as there really is no need.

We have a huge trampoline in the garden behind, which comes close to our garden, which is narrow at that point. all 3 children scream and annoy each other, and they are a boy 14, and 2 girls 12 and 6. Now the 6 year old I can just about understand but.....! You can't enjoy your garden around here when they are on the trampoline to be sure.

I am quite certain my neighbours head indoors and shut their windows when my kids play outside as they are noisy and then shout at me to come sort their differences. We have a terrific huge wooden play structure (thanks Mom!). When the kids are on it they are nice and high for their voices to carry, much to my neighbours' delight, I am sure. Sometimes I send out snacks just so their mouths will be too full to squeal and shout. But if you think my kids are bad you should hear my sister's 4 when they are in the pool! Now that is loud. Their poor neighbours.

I have the terrific job of cleaning my dd's room (with her help). She is 10 and a packrat. We have spent an hour just hauling things out of her room and aren't finished yet. We are sorting, purging and organizing. As a reward we are buying her a new desk for all her drawing supplies and having sushi for dinner. I hope my dust allergies settle down before then! Her room is truly horrible. Wish me luck! My mom Tru promised to call me later to make sure I was still alive. Currently I am on break with a cup of homemade chai. Yum.

John's family is no where near as interesting as he is a Richard Warren descendant. However an interesting fact is that he and my SIL are 9th cousins. Small world, huh?

and if you believe that there is this bridge I have for sale....

They can't be as loud as DD's family who are know far and wide as the Loud family!!

When you are done, I have these closets....

Our daughter has 4 children, and boy, they can be noisy too.:scared1: I was so glad we didn't live next to them.:rotfl2: Fortunately they are growing up a bit now, so are quietening down somewhat!!

Off to my appointment with the Insurance Claims Adjuster who will inspect my car. Talk to you guys later!!
