Week 1 - everyone together - First regular rotation in AP in Week 1

Did I do this voting correctly?

Well, actually.... :)

If everyone is doing it together, it won't be based on a rotation. The night will be determined by the vote of a week and specific night.

With that said, you have to choose either Night 2, 4, or 6 (since you prefer Week 1). If you prefer Week 2, then you would vote Night 10, 11, or 12). I guess you actually could vote for a night in Week 2 as well in case the majority vote goes against your choice of Week 1. I'll update the survey question to reflect you can vote for a night in each week.

DH is watching the History channel and they are showing the Top 10 Most Extreme Airports.....they have showed Madeira #9 and Gibraltar #5 and St. Maarten was #4........ 3 more to show. Exciting to see 3 places we will be visiting in just a few weeks!!

watching it too, and had to promptly inform DS that he was not allowed to surf the jet blast at Maho beach

Any suggestions for a 3 year old? I was thinking he and I might start moving one of the clocks in the house the last week up for an hour each day until we leave. I don't think any of us could handle a 3 year old who likes to follow a plan.....more or less :scared1: God help us all if hes CRABBY.

I should take a moment to point out that MY child is an ANGEL. :rotfl:
Cynthia

That's actually what we're going to do with my 4 yr old and 22 month old. I did this when we went to Hawaii and worked great!

I looked at the map as we are also staying at Le Meridien. It is only 750 meters or almost .5 miles to the Praktik Rambla to walk. We are meeting at the Praktik Rambla so I did a Google map.

Thanks, Noel; you are so organized and helpful!

Andrea

....Kimberly? ST = Stinky Teens. Leftover from another cruise where the teens sorta became a nuisance. So, now she's ST when she's being a brat. She isn't right now but its becasuse she's at a tournament .....

Ah Ha! Thanks for letting me in on the secret code!

Attention all I just made my first FE gift ever:goodvibes ....And yes it it a gift everyone in the room can use :) but it is only good if everyone partakes in the gift :) And if no one participates then you never went on vacation :lmao:

 Congrats!!! I love your cryptic clue, too!

....Life is good: my son's band has a gig at a local club tonight :rockband: and we just had a nice early dinner date, then went to see Angelina Jolie in "Salt." What a wild ride! Must admit, I like bad a** women!...

I hope your DS' gig is successful! Sounds like you've had a wonderful evening! I respect a bad a** woman, too.

Not that I'm stalking you (really I'm not!), but since I've looked at that hotel spreadsheet so much, I seem to recall you were only at Le Meridien one night. :upsidedow Aren't you still at the Marriott Renaissance on Thursday night, the night we're talking about going to the Magic Fountain? :confused3 It doesn't matter to me, obviously, but I would hate for you to have walking transportation on your mind when you're further away. I feel so dirty asking you to validate your own travel plans!

I will choose week 1, and since I have a choice night 4. Hopefully, I have this right now....

Thank you! Sorry I wasn't clear enough the first round!

If you also want to vote on a night for Week 2 in the event Week 2 wins the vote for the whole group wearing at the same time, feel free to pass that along as well.

Don't feel bad. You are always very helpful and have great suggestions. Yes, we are at the Marriott Renaissance on Thursday night. We plan to end up at the Le Meridien in the later afternoon before our dinner and Flamenco show so we plan to meet our friends at the Praktik Rambla by walking from there.

Of course, if our plans change, we will just either catch a cab or walk to the Praktik from where we end up.

Okay. You didn't have to give the full explanation though! You know what's going on, and that's all that matters!

For week 2, day 11.

one of the main reasons for week 2 and the reason I vote night 11 is by then things have winded down a bit ....remember the first night in animators is a show so that cancels out the first three nights , then you have formal and also a semi formal .. 2nd week seems better and night 11 seems like a nothing going on night , so we can make it a theme night all by ourselves ... just think the other guests will want to know why they didnt know about MMC night ...LOL ha ha

just me 2 schillings

Check your local Target over on Sunset Hill Rd/ Spring St, they sell adapter kits with the adapters for all over the world for around $20. Radio Shack also sells the adapters. We have a couple of the entire kits with a converters because we travel a lot and the price difference with the converter is not that much.

Sorry! I must have been posting too late. My post/reply really made little sense last night. I have all the adapters/converters somewhere, just needed to know which to bring (since I'd rather not bring them all.) So far I've found one (for my blackberry charger), just need to look for the regular ones (for regular plugs.).

The best advise that I can give you is to not use elastic. This goes brittle over time and will swap. When I started out making jewellery, I used elastic, but soon came up against its limitations. Nowadays, I exclusively use Beadalon (nylon-coated, multi-stranded wire). It is a little bit harder to work with as it cannot just be knotted, but it is virtually unbreakable. If you want to send me the necklaces, I will restring them for you. PM me if you are interested.

Corinna

Thanks for the advice. I have no idea how much it would cost to ship the broken necklaces to the UK. But I really appreciate the offer!

To book a private tasting with DCL we need cabin assignments or ressie number if your are a GTY status. This is becasue all of our tastings are PRIVATE and non refundable. I am updating the lists to include cabin number for those that are on my other lists, or have one in roll call. If you don't have a cabin number listed, can you please PM me your cabin or ressie number so I can get it all organized. (new lists will be posted today)

Also - what about time of day for tasting? Does 4pm work for everyone? Is there a better time? I am hoping to book something each day (maybe not the day of ladies tea as that could be Champaign Girl day as well?) so if you have an opinion please let me know!

Thanks for organizing! Since we have early dining, we'd prefer a slightly earlier time (like 3 or 3:30) since we'd have to pick the kids up at the club and go get ready for dinner. But if it ends up being 4, we'll make it work.

How about a favorite blankie to cover their head?

They'll both have their blankets/blankies with them, but I doubt the'd put them over their heads to sleep!

Still not able to PM. (Have to have posted 10 times.) Please sign up Jack and Rene Baron (DisneyFreakNo1) for Wine Tasting and Mojito Tasting.
Rene

Now that Sue has you recorded, I'd recommend going back and editing your post to remove your reservation number (since it's a public board.)

Just a note about group tastings. When I've arranged them in the past, we had no say in a date or time. DCL arranges them based on room and server availability. Most were between 1-3pm on a sea day. We did have one wine tasting at 11am one day but most were in the afternoon.

These times work generally for us, though we do have some SPA treatments planned. Hopefully we'll know far enough in advance that we can still cancel or change SPA reservations if they conflict.

Well we've had a lovely cruise-related day today! we got the cases down :woohoo:and have put them in the spare room, together with all the holiday things I've been buying. Then we tried things on we weren't sure about.....:rolleyes1

Anyway, seems I have my clothes sorted!:woohoo::woohoo:

Great news! We're slowly starting to make some progress here as well. I got my guest bedroom put back together so I can then set out the suitcases and start packing items that I know we're bringing. I also picked up some dresses last week while I was travelling, and we tried everyone's dress clothes on the other night so I know what I need to replace or get altered.

For the fountains - I would prefer to do the first show, and be there early so Becca can see. She is def. a munchkin! I will stand with her, and Stephen, well, Stephen can fend for himself as he is (somehow) now a bit taller than me... (Who told him to grow?!?) Oh yeah - Glenn is on his own as well!! (Sorry Dear!)

We did the TSA locks as well - I found 4 packs for $11 each with free shipping and grabbed 2. now I don't need to worry about any of our luggage. It was well worth it for piece of mind... For the airport, the hotel and the port...

We have hopes of seeing the Fountain on Thursday, but it will depend on how everyone feels after our first day.

On the locks, I need to buy stock in a lock company. I buy 2 and end up breaking 1 within a short time. And I rarely check bags, but we've had several arrive with the lock seriously bent, or missing altogether.

Good for you for arranging it with the school. I have not said one word to them yet. Figured I'll take care of that once the administration is back in after the Summer break. Not sure how they will react, but I'm going to ask for 2 weeks of independent study. If they won't grant it, well then he'll just be absent.

My DS is heading into 1st grade in Sept. We have him slated to move to the Lower Elementary campus of the Montessori school he's been in, and had mentioned our vacation plan to his teacher, and she was all supportive of it. Plus he's currently in a year round school so we weren't worried that we'd be leaving just 1.5 weeks into the new school year. But now we're considering moving him into our local Public elementary school. DH met with the Principal there last week, and she wasn't too excited about our trip, since they see the first month as being so important in setting the routine, but given it's 1st grade, she wasn't making a huge fuss over it. Though she did suggest he keep a journal, which is current school had also recommended.

From looking at the rotation list shown previously, that also listed the theme nights and menus, it seemed like nights 4, 5 & 6 were the standard "Rotation" menus. I take it to mean that those are the nights that the AP show will be on. So it's not nights 1-3 that you'd have the AP show, but 4-6 depending on your rotation. Perhaps someone from the EBTA can confirm if that's how it worked with the AP show on their cruise.

Now this is going to be the laugh of the week!
I was talking to my DSIL the yesterday and mentioned my dress search and the horrible results from some stores... pimp and hoe night.
The she said ... we did that!:scared1:
YUP... her and 5 BFF's and 1 DH went on a cruise and dressed that way for formal night:eek:
:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:
She said she would show me her pic when we see her in Orlando!

I think thats brilliant - can you convince them to come on our cruise - liven the dining room up a bit :rotfl2:

Small world, huh? John just started a few months ago taking 50 MCG of Levothyroxine once a day for slightly low thyroid hormone levels. It is more a preventative measure then anything else as he takes no other medications which at 66 1/2 is pretty good, I think.

Mum is very proud of the fact that she's nearly 66 (a few days after the cruise finishes) and only takes calcium tablets. Her doctor always says, I wish all my patients were as healthy as you.

Don't forget we have a book exchange going on. I suppose that will depend on whether you have specific books in mind which you want to read.

And hopefully will be well used as I'm going to run out of stuff to read pretty quickly if it doesn't! :)

Well, have just got home after having my hair cut....my goodness it's short!!!:scared1: I feel like I've been scalped!:sad2: Ah well, it should grow quickly I hope....must remember to tell her not to cut it soooooo short next time!:thumbsup2

Don't ya hate that! Mum said the same thing last time she got her "trimmed" said she felt like she'd been scalped. She said to the hair dresser - "wow that looks great" and she stopped cutting... geez!

After having a #4 crew cut back in May for fundraising for Canteen and the Child Cancer Foundation, I'm now seriously thinking I need a haircut! I'm totally loving the really short hair. I even dyed it bright orange last week (that wasn't the plan - supposed to be auburn - but I'm loving that too). :)

I almost did the NCL Hawaiian cruise in 2007, I am now so thankful I didn't.

We did it in 2008 and the cruise was very average - we knew that before we boarded and had a great time anyway. The food was pretty rubbish (pants?). However Hawaii is amazingly beautiful and we saw loads of whales which was one of the main reasons we went. We heard lots of complaints from other travelers - guess they don't read Cruise Critic before spending their $ - what is that saying "let the buyer beware"...

OK.....I'm a little confused.....I guess I hadn't been paying close enough attention....but some people are in multiple fish extender groups and others are in only one (like myself)-----Did people request to be in multiple groups? Are we supposed to be in only one or more than one? And then if you are in only that one then you are only making FE gifts for the cabins that are actually in the list that you are in, right?

We are in 3 groups but are happy to receive one gift per cabin from others in multiple groups. Whatever others do is fine with us. Our gifts vary slightly anyway so if someone is in duplicate groups with us, they'll just get two (or more) slightly different gifts.

We usually manage 1 and 1/2 laps of Deck 4!!! It gets so boring!!:rolleyes1 However we do walk up and down the stairs almost all the time.:littleangel:

We stroll around deck 4 and usually end up stopping chatting ... a lot ...

We take the stairs everywhere as well.

Same for us - unless Mum is whinging about her back or her knees - something about being a poor old lady or some nonsense!

Can you post a picture? Sounds nice. Maybe the embossing is one of the security features?

newpassport.JPG
and inside is really pretty too

Tom, to reduce the effects of jet lag, you might want to skip the nap.

Totally agree with this - avoid naps at all costs. Get out into the sunlight and go for a stroll - anything to keep awake which means moving usually.

Just need to add to any worried people that it is BAA which run some of the major airports that are threatening strike action, not BA, though they could follow suit anyway, who knows?

These airports are London Heathrow, London Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Southampton. Our flights to Barcelona goes from Heathrow!!!

Yikes - I didn't know about this! Robert shouldn't be affected as he's on Singapore Airlines and doesn't go via England but it might affect me as although I'm booked on Qantas, I do go to Heathrow then on a BA flight - guess that's Qantas problem though. Mum also has a separately booked BA flight. I might see if she can book a staff ticket with ANZ and she can probably get that refunded if not required.

Disney, are you listening? We need a Disney store in Australia!!!!!!!

You used to have them in Australia - I used to call in to the Sydney one at CentrePoint and I think I went to one in Melbourne once too.

We are flying BA from Heathrow, so BA, BAA, the unions and anyone else running interference had better sought themselves out or I will send my DIS friends to speak to them :scared1::scared1:

Yes - we'll stage a sit in and sing ... Its a small world after all...

[*]THOSE GOING TO THE MAGIC FOUNTAIN ON THURSDAY, what time do you want to meet up to go together from Praktik Rambla (or an area in the vicinity)? The first show is at 9:30 and runs every 30 minutes. I suggest we meet at 8:30 or 8:45 for the first show because I believe we have some munchkins going with us, so the earlier the better. Additionally, most of us will still be dealing with jet lag. Thoughts?

My feeling is earlier the better - we aren't late night people so would be much happier with the earlier one.

Can you walk to the cable car station at the bottom in Gibraltar? Or do you need some type of transportation to get there? I am confused from some things I read.

We are planning on walking to the town centre (about 15 minutes) and catching the #4 bus to the cable car station. We plan to catch it one way to the top them walk down back to town catching the sites on the way. Having said this, I've never been there but I understand this is do-able.

I hope you guys can make it to the fountain with us!

It's late, so I'm probably missing the mark here. I see the Rotation menus as being on nights 2, 4, and 6. If I'm wrong, I do need corrected since I referenced those in the MMC Survey Post. Assuming Rotation Menus start on Night 2, I see it as night 5 being be a repeat night. :confused3 Help!
