Okay...so is this the route (in blue) that people take to get to and from the parks? That's the only way to get through security into DTD, right?

That is how we go. Our last trip the monorail was down, so had to weave around DTD. Made for a long hike at the end of the day.
Next trip will be at VGC and VDH. Hope monorail is not out for refurb!

That looks like the old entrance by the Mickey hat. You actually walk past the Frontier Tower, past the rose garden and out a gate that's in the rose garden/wedding gazebo. The downtown Disney security is just outside of the gate (behind Din Ti Fung).

That gate also takes you to the self parking lot for the Grand Californian. I often come back that way if I was doing something at the Grand on my way out of DCA. You have to cross the street by the Pixar Hotel if you do that.

So that map is old and doesn't actually show where security is? I assumed it was up just past the hat.

I'm so unfamiliar with this place! I'm gonna go look at Google maps. Maybe that's more accurate.

So the red circle...is this no longer where security is located? Is it in that blue circle area? I don't think I've walked farther west than the Grand Californian in a decade so I'm excited to see how different it all looks.

The blue circle is where the new entrance is.
I'm unsure if the old one is currently open. The Disneyland forum has had various posts where it's been reopened and then closed again. Since the blue entrance is closer to the Tower, I have just been using that.

I always take the entrance by the hat that is ONLY for hotel guests when going to DL. It is currently going through a refurb but Disney has announced that it 100 will be returning.

There is actually a Hey Bricky Vlog from yesterday that talks about it.

I would take the rose garden exit and take the Pixar Place entrance to DCA… but that is being cut as part of the Jan 5th on property perks massacre.

That’s for rope dropping since they will give lead time for hotel guests there with room key. Otherwise can go in & out there or go out of resort gate along pathway south side of the Adventure Tower. They have the newest ‘pretty’ landscaped security entrance/exit there.

Thanks. We never rope drop so I'm assuming would never need a key for security purposes, if we stayed there.

They sure like to complicate things with all these entrances/exits that they keep opening/closing though. So annoying.

They asked for my key when I did early entry the other day. I didn't have any physical keys, but they accepted me showing the App that had the reservation dates.

Yeah and just when you think you figured it all out. Some close, new ones open then close again
