....It's late, so I'm probably missing the mark here. I see the Rotation menus as being on nights 2, 4, and 6. If I'm wrong, I do need corrected since I referenced those in the MMC Survey Post. Assuming Rotation Menus start on Night 2, I see it as night 5 being be a repeat night. :confused3 Help!

AH HA!! I now see what you're referring to! I looked in the handy dandy mini Navigator. Night 2 is expected to be the "Flavors of the Mediterranean" menu! Got it! Thanks, and sorry I didn't dig further the first time!!!!

I'm re-voting, my brain was on a short vacation

I vote for everyone on the same night - whatever night it may be, either week.

:cutie:

Mine clearly was, too! I got you down for being very flexible! :) Thank you!

Now that I have it all straight, anyone else want to change their current vote?

Loved all your photo's, the scenery is devine, and the beagles are goreous! :goodvibes

Right, here is the list of participants for the jewellery workshop so far:

UKANGEL
Buckeye Gal
MagicMe
NoWorriesMate
TotallyAngelic
Granmaz
Ebony
LittleDisneyLovers

Ideally I do not want more than 10 people so that leaves 2 more spaces. Just to confirm, you will be making three items each that you will take home: a cellphone charm, a necklace and either a keychain or bag charm. I will be looking into getting materials over the weekend. So I need to know two things. Would you rather make a bag charm or a keychain? For the necklace, would you rather go with the colours of the ship or the Villain's theme?

Corinna

YAY, I would prefer colours of the ship, but am just excited to be joining in. Another option could be pink for the Champagne Girls??? :lovestruc

I got my EBTA scrapbook done and wanted to share the link with anyone who might want to take a look! This is a public link on facebook so everyone can see it! I did not put my pictures of Mederia in there as I will put it in the scrapbook of this Cruise because we did not do an excursion. My next step is to finish setting up the book for this cruise so all I have to do is plop my pictures in EACH night on the cruise and have a finished product when I get home!

Krisann

Fantastic!!! Can't wait until CM is compatible with a Mac! :thumbsup2

I'll cross my finger for you all as well... I hated being GY last year. Last years cruise was a surprise, and at 4 weeks out nothing. So, I ducked into our bedroom closet and called them. A the end of the call I was in tears... I just wanted information and the person on the phone was so rude... I ended up calling back, explained it all to a supervisor who put me on hold and told me that the cat 6 cabins were due to be assigned the following day and that docs wold be in the mail by the end of the week. We got them later that week, and all was well - but man the stress...

I am actually not stressed, I figure we're on board, I'm not really bothered. We don't expect pixie dust, would love it, but don't expect it. And being first time cruisers, we don't know where is a good loaction and where is not, so....:confused3

Looks like you all had a a great night :goodvibes

I know that we have several digital scrappers on the thread, so what do you all think about doing some 12x12 or 5x7 (for a brag book album) quick pages, fairly plain so that each person could embellish to taste, to share with our group? We would definitely give the kit name and designer credit on the page and in the file name.

Penny, I have never done digital scrapping before, I would love to but I use a Mac and there doesn't seem to be many programs for a Mac. Does anyone know of any?????

If I saw someone slimmer in my bathing suit I would have to look at her and explain "so that's what the suit is supposed to look like"!! :lmao:
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

We are flying BA from Heathrow, so BA, BAA, the unions and anyone else running interference had better sought themselves out or I will send my DIS friends to speak to them :scared1::scared1:

I don't know anything about this. We are flying BA from Heathrow to Barcelona, will we be affected? Should I start researching other options? :confused3

Would you all be OK if I send you the materials before the cruise and you bring them? It should only cost a few pence to send them even internationally as they are not that heavy, but bringing materials times 20 will take up quite a bit of luggage space.

Also could you let me know if you have Palo Tea booked and the date. I am hoping to schedule this for 3 to 4PM, but want to make sure that this does not clash with anybody's Palo reservation. We might have to slide the time depending on when the tastings take place, but we can sort this out nearer the time if we have to.

Corinna

No problem on shipping stuff to me. :thumbsup2
Nothing booked in afternoon, we are doing brunch at Palo with Sue Kraft, not sure what time, on the 24th I think, will find out and PM you.

Attention all I just made my first FE gift ever:goodvibes

Well it was harder than I first thought it would be but after 4 hours of tweeking the first one I got it just the way I liked it. No worries the first one is going to me and my hubby :lmao:

So now just 15 X 30 minutes each for the first part. Then I would say another 2 hours to design the wrapping rofl it has to be wrapped. Well maybe not, but just adds to the excitement of it all.

And yes it it a gift everyone in the room can use :) but it is only good if everyone partakes in the gift :) And if no one participates then you never went on vacation :lmao:

Sounds interesting...........:dance3:

FINAL CALL

This is the final call for the Candy Swap - I'm closing the list to any further additions on 1 August.

If you wish to join, please see the post on page 1 for more information and let me know ASAP.

Corinna, we have Palo Tea booked on the 21st Sept.

If I saw someone slimmer in my bathing suit I would have to look at her and explain "so that's what the suit is supposed to look like"!! :lmao:

I would say 'I see you got the Spanx version'.

We are flying BA from Heathrow, so BA, BAA, the unions and anyone else running interference had better sought themselves out or I will send my DIS friends to speak to them :scared1::scared1:

I'm just so mad with them all Albert!

Regarding the DIS photo at the Praktik Rambla, that's a brilliant idea! What does everyone think of about meeting on the Terrace Saturday morning before the bus arrives or others head off for sightseeing? The bus should arrive around 9:00. For those of you not taking the bus, is 8:30 too late for us to get together for the photo before you are off touring? We'll also know who's still in bed sleeping so the bus can get rolling on-time!

To be honest I would rather a photo on board. I think the embarkation morning will be just too fraught. I know I will be all sixes and sevens and just wanting to get on my way and not waiting around for everyone to get in in order for a photo. I'm just too impatient!!!!!;)

I would like to know this too please :).
Also anyone from the UK, know where to get the pink tiara and boa please.?

Jan, try Claire's Accessories. However Connie has said she will be taking plenty with her, so I wouldn't worry.

Corinna

WOW Corinna ...you have some amazing ideas. I am really looking forward to this class. Of course you can post the materials ahead of time ... it makes good sense :thumbsup2 I am not planning on doing a Palo tea so thats not a problem.

I would like to know this too please :).
Also anyone from the UK, know where to get the pink tiara and boa please.?

Just for a change I will probably get mine from Ebay :rotfl2:

I looked at the map as we are also staying at Le Meridien. It is only 750 meters or almost .5 miles to the Praktik Rambla to walk. We are meeting at the Praktik Rambla so I did a Google map.

Here is a map link: Link

This is a fantastic map and so useful .. I have worked out our route to Sagrada Familia and the Gaudi Houses. Thanks for sharing this. :thumbsup2

ukangel, sorry about your hair cut, I had a tooooo short hair cut a few years ago, It was horrible, my family are kinda cruel as well, they totally took the Mick for weeks, they still refer to it as my ******* haircut( and dont ask)

Love you pictures...:thumbsup2

My DD and Grandkids adopted a mix Bassett and Beagle from the Pound. We just love him..:)

What an amazing shot and how in the world did you get the furrkids to pose like that. Awesome. What did you shoot with?
Thankyou, they/we were looking at sheep, thats why they are still on leads!! my little trusty pink olympus tough, its an underwater camera as well.

Love your photos. Sadly we are now dogless. We lost our 2nd Cocker Spaniel Cassie last year, 2 years after her mate Ben passed :sad1:.

.
It is very sad indeed.
I would like to know this too please :).
Also anyone from the UK, know where to get the pink tiara and boa please.?
Claires have lots of pink fluffy things.

We are going to take Lens sat nav, when we bought it it was really expensive but it is loaded with all usa, canada and europe, it has a walking function on it, now though I am worried about it getting nicked as it was NOT cheap!
DH is watching the History channel and they are showing the Top 10 Most Extreme Airports.....they have showed Madeira #9 and Gibraltar #5 and St. Maarten was #4........ 3 more to show. Exciting to see 3 places we will be visiting in just a few weeks!!
We het the history channel I think, that sounds Like a great thing to watch.
watching it too, and had to promptly inform DS that he was not allowed to surf the jet blast at Maho beach
I will take him:lmao:

A comment like that guarantees one thing ... I am going to ask :rotfl2::rotfl2:

What did they refer to your haircut as ?

You tell them!!!:woohoo:

Wow, I went to the gym this afternoon and to do some shopping and when I came home, my inbox was full with requests to join the jewellery making class. I did not have the heart to say no to anybody and I rather enjoy teaching so I have decided to run two workshops.

I had some more thoughts regarding the keychain/ bag charm and the cell phone charm. I was thinking in terms of doing a DIS theme for the keychain/ bag charm probably spelling out DIS with metal letter beads and adding lime green Mickey heads at either end and doing a pirate theme for the cell phone charm.

I have 18 people signed up so far so could take another two. Here is the list so far. If you have not let me know your preferences as to keychain or bag charm and for the colour-scheme for the necklace, can you do so please?

Here is the list so far:

UKANGEL (Bag charm, Villain)
Buckeye Gal
MagicMe (Bag charm, Villain)
NoWorriesMate
TotallyAngelic (Bag charm, Villain)
Granmaz (Bag charm, no colour preference)
Ebony
LittleDisneyLovers
BoosGram (Bag charm, no colour preference)
DisneyFreakNo1
Belle1997
Bilbo UK
DiaLady
Birkner
Yukongirl123
ReAnSt x 2
Ashlyn

No afternoon tea booked here, just all the tastings etc!;). More than happy for you to send materials out Corinna, let me know if I can help in any other way.:goodvibes

Claire's Accessories have loads of that sort of thing I think Jan :)

:yay::yay:

Don't ya hate that! Mum said the same thing last time she got her "trimmed" said she felt like she'd been scalped. She said to the hair dresser - "wow that looks great" and she stopped cutting... geez!

After having a #4 crew cut back in May for fundraising for Canteen and the Child Cancer Foundation, I'm now seriously thinking I need a haircut! I'm totally loving the really short hair. I even dyed it bright orange last week (that wasn't the plan - supposed to be auburn - but I'm loving that too). :)

Sounds like mine Paula...bright orange and cropped! we can be sisters!:rotfl2:

and inside is really pretty too

I think I know what you mean, I told Becky I now look like Pat Butcher from Eastenders...but with red hair!

:littleangel:

Well, have just got home after having my hair cut....my goodness it's short!!!:scared1: I feel like I've been scalped!:sad2: Ah well, it should grow quickly I hope....must remember to tell her not to cut it soooooo short next time!:thumbsup2
:littleangel:

Oh dear! Poor you.
Same thing happend to me two years ago! I was sooo mad!
I wore hairbands for weeks, because it was horrible! I avoided every mirror.

Growing my hair since then.

I love all the photos!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

My vote is day 11 week 2. It would be Terry's birthday and as everyone says, things will be winding down.

I would LOVE for Shutters to take a picture of everyone in their shirts. We could wish Terry a Happy Birthday. :cake:

Need a slight chuckle this Sunday morning?

ZEN TEACHINGS

1. Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me for the path is narrow... In fact, just take off and leave me alone.

2. Sex is like air. It's not that important unless you aren't getting any.

3. No one is listening until you fart.

4. Always remember you're unique. Just like everyone else.

5. Never test the depth of the water with both feet.

6. If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

7. Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

8. If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

9. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

10. If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably well worth it.

11. If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

12. Some days you are the dog, some days you are the tree.

13. Don't worry; it only seems kinky the first time.

14. Good judgment comes from bad experience ... and most of that comes from bad judgment.

15. A closed mouth gathers no foot.

16. There are two excellent theories for arguing with women. Neither one works.

17. Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your lips are moving.

18. Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

19. We are born naked, wet and hungry, and get slapped on our *** - then things just keep getting worse.

20. Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

Marilyn - thanks for the laugh:rotfl2:

sitting here drinking my morning coffee reading the DIS and now with a big smile!!

:lmao: It is so funny that she stared at you and didn't talk!! :rotfl2::scared1:

I was biting my tongue - she kept staring and I wanted to speak up, but I was determined to behave... :headache:

You changed?!!!! Too bad for her if you have such good taste! It is hilarious that she stared at you! :rotfl:
...
Do you think leaving at 8:30 is enough time? It shouldn't take too long to get there.

GISMO SARAH, can we please have this added to the Navigator? :) :worship: We can let you know for sure what time after people weigh in with their plans.

I changed... Totally out of charactor for me... Must be the Disney athmosphere...

I can't remember what the distance to the fountains was - I know I would rather pack something to keep Becca occupied and have a spot to see the fountains, so we can leave whenever!

Not a bad idea to meet at 830 on the terrace - that way everyone is together and we are there for the bus. I am sure that we can hand cameras to someone for the shot - and if not, Glenn has a tripod, an I think a remote control to snap the photo! (And there I go signing him up for more! Again - sorry dear!)

I am actually not stressed, I figure we're on board, I'm not really bothered. We don't expect pixie dust, would love it, but don't expect it. And being first time cruisers, we don't know where is a good loaction and where is not, so....:confused3
...
No problem on shipping stuff to me. :thumbsup2
Nothing booked in afternoon, we are doing brunch at Palo with Sue Kraft, not sure what time, on the 24th I think, will find out and PM you.

I was stressed to have a cabin assignment as it was a surprise to the kids and, well, can't you tell I am a little obsessive? :lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

Brunch is on the 23rd at 10:30. I need to find out when our Charactor breakfast is! If it happens to be that same morning, Glenn and I talked abut going and having tea / coffee with the kids but not haveing breakfast... Also - I tried to add you to the reservation (which is for 4 people) but I can't... :confused3 Not sure why not as you show up plain as day as linked with us. UUGH! I will shoot Autumn a note and see if she can't get it done for me...

Speaking of shipping - did the girls get an envelope / flat package by chance? Would have been in a RedPrairie envelope, coming from our office in Sydney I believe - but could have been Melbourne as well...

So, tomorrow I am sending a package to the ship! I am sending mainly magnets as they will be put on the door for us by the concierge team. But I am also shipping a few FE things that are bulky. I hope that I am doing this early enough!! :dance3:

I was biting my tongue - she kept staring and I wanted to speak up, but I was determined to behave... :headache:

:laughing:I think we would be a naughty combination, add Marilyn and we would be thrown of the ship:rotfl:

Have you guys in the us ever seen Father Ted.

This is me ..
Go on,go on,go on,go on. you know you want to. says Mrs Doyle.

Guess what?? Multiquote is working for me today

I nearly chucked it all in as the flights were just getting to be such a pain.

Its such a pain 8 weeks out!

john, noel, gus, chasity, johanna, monica, valerie, bob

Success! thanks again. val

Great pictures!

Oh and as to cancellations, when dd had to cancel her BA flight a couple of months back all she got back was the taxes (lost a stack of money:sad2:) I think she cancelled it a few weeks before the flight.

Thanks! this would explain the £35 back they quoted!

Well we've had a lovely cruise-related day today! we got the cases down :woohoo:and have put them in the spare room, together with all the holiday things I've been buying. Then we tried things on we weren't sure about.....:rolleyes1

Anyway, seems I have my clothes sorted!:woohoo::woohoo:

Oh, and 6 swimsuits isn't going over the top right?:rotfl2::rolleyes1

:littleangel:

LOL!

OK - I agree - we MUST get a group photo taken. We will have to take over the stairs - both sides as there are so many of us - 135 families are registered on roll call - or there were as of a day ago, it may have gon up... :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I am bringing 3 suites. Last year I did 2 and when another woman showed up at the Mickey pool in the same one I was wearing I had to go change... She sat right next to me and stared at me :scared1: - it was weird... She didn't even talk... I tried to laugh it off, but decided she wasn't very friendly... :confused3

OK people need a date for the photo!

Oh and that story is scary! What a freak she was!

Normally if the tickets are refundable, as long as you cancelled them by the time check in opens, that should be fine.

Thanks! This was what I was thinking! Don't wanna cancel too soon incase Bristol airport suddenly gets closed down or something - just my luck!

We are flying BA from Heathrow, so BA, BAA, the unions and anyone else running interference had better sought themselves out or I will send my DIS friends to speak to them :scared1::scared1:

LOL I know maybe we should contact them and warn them!

Have dates been determined for the following? It's quite possible I missed it if they were announced.
  • Mickey Mouse Club night (on a casual dining night); If a date hasn't been determined, I suggest a Sea Day early in the cruise before it gets dirty! With that said, does Night 4 (between Gibraltar and Madeira) sound good?
  • a DIS group photo with our embarkation t-shirts
  • THOSE GOING TO THE MAGIC FOUNTAIN ON THURSDAY, what time do you want to meet up to go together from Praktik Rambla (or an area in the vicinity)? The first show is at 9:30 and runs every 30 minutes. I suggest we meet at 8:30 or 8:45 for the first show because I believe we have some munchkins going with us, so the earlier the better. Additionally, most of us will still be dealing with jet lag. Thoughts?

Nope dates haven't been sorted that I've seen.

On our Med cruise we had booked with B.A flights. With the Ash clouds and the Strikes threatening, we ended up leaving 2 days earlier than what we planned. Still on a BA flight, but we didnt cancel the one we were supposed to be on, as our 1 back would have been cancelled too (IYNWIM) :confused3.

Luckily we are flying back Virgin into Gatwick so shouldn't have an issue if we cancel BA!
