Hello Everyone- busy weekend on the thread!

I wondered if the roll call email/website is still active? I sent our info to that email twice, at the beginning and middle of July. Now its August... Have I missed something?

I'm definitely in on the pact... Don't know how to get 14 days worth of clothes in a 50 lb bag...

Hi Everyone,

I also emailed several people from the website regarding different items and haven't heard from anyone. I hope all is well those people I emailed. If anyone can help me with the subjects I have listed the below and a copy of my email.

If these have already been spoken about and other people are in charged, please let me know who I have to contact via a pm(private message) so i don't miss response on the thread. Thank you for guiding me!

subjects I emailed about:
1) secret mickey
2) lanyards
3) min nav
4) scrapbook class

copy of email:
Hi,
I am not sure if anyone has taken the lead on the scrapbook class and the mini-navigator.

If no one else has offered, I would like to lead the scrapbook class on the TA. I have done the classes before with Linda, Seaulater. She is doing scrapbook classes on her cruises, bcn to dover & the first baltic cruise.

Also I have the template from Linda to do the mini navigator just like her.

Thank you for answering my questions and requests!
Karen in Utah
cruzdirectorkaren on the boards

PS I was also thinking about doing a mini scavenger hunt too. Let me know if this is also possible. Thankx!

I think the nearest in Wales are Wimberries.:confused3
Now I feel even more confused as never heard of them either! Clearly I don't eat enough berries! Will go searching in tescos on Thursday and see what I can find.

I definitely plan to do a wash on board - don't plan on taking 15 sets of underwear!

Ah but if you take 14 old pairs of pants you could just chuck them as you go lol
We're dog-sitting for my Mum right now who is cruising the Med on Princess!
Bet the med is nice right now! Sat here in terrential rain again and its not fun! Your mums probably having a ball with the heat wave they're having down there. I'd be happy just to see the sun!
Wimberries - never heard of them! Now I am confuddled Marilyn!:rotfl:
Glad I'm not the only one! Weird how many different berries there are and how few we know lol

Hey TA...

Havent you heard of Vacation Undies???
Those are undies that are old and worn out. After wearing them ... you just toss them out. No need to wash or bring home!!!:lmao: Make more room for suvies to bring home!:rotfl:

Hi Becky!!!

Ann :teacher:

LOL glad I'm not the only one with the throw the undies plan - though loving the name and going to have to use this in the future!

Economy stays the same at the moment, 2 bags at 23kg, but they have reduced the PE allowance to match the Economy allowance. Doesn't make it worth the extra £ or frequent flyer points.

http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/passengerinformation/baggage/newpolicy.jsp

http://www.britishairways.com/travel/new-baggage-policy/public/en_gb

Heard they were reducing PE. They are also adding more Economy extra leg room seats aren't they that you pay for?

I still think PE isn't worth the money difference when all you get is extra room, a glass of cheap fizz and bit quicker service

OK just looked at the BA link and its $48 if booked online per extra bag but this says up to 10 extra bags!!!

Hiya

I know awhile back I offered to do the mini navigator but you're welcome to do it instead as I don't mind lol. I did one for the WBTA last time which was just basic and I think it was OK but seriously happy for others to do it lol. I only offered as no one had yet.

Mini scavenger hunt sounds cool. If you need any help give me a shout as love organising things like this. I think we did one on the 11 night Southern Caribbean cruise we were on and it was great fun, oh and the EBTA in 2007.

Also I suggested a Room Tour which I organised on the WBTA in 2007. It was great cause we got the Roy Suite as well as a mix of different Cabins to go around. People were really good and the Suites put on nibbles for us. We had about 25-30 people trapsing through the ship. This was great fun so hopefully we can sort something similar. If anyone wants to volunteer to show their room Ill collect names for now or we could sort nearer the time? I'm hoping we have a Roy/Walt suite'r out there lol.

As for the Lanyards - Eric & Jason are collating it and I know they've been mega busy. I emailed them about putting the rest of my family on the list about 2 months ago and have yet to hear back so hopefully they are keeping on top of this.

Scrapbook class sounds like fun. Could be a good suggestion definately.

Oh and secrete Mickey - as said the web super woman is moving house I believe and was on vacation before then so hopefully she'll get that up to date when she's sorted.

I'm hoping Virgin have the brain not to as lots of people will jump over to them. Any news on whether BA will offer a pre-purchase 2nd bag option?

I will just go with whatever is the cheapest and pay the exra.

Hi Becky!!!

Ann :teacher:
I know what you are saying, but you can get under wear from wallmart /asad 3 for a pound, just use and chuck. I know it is knot eco friendly but :confused3

One of the benefits of having little ones in their own seats: His clothes, at age 2, are little, and I can stuff some more of my stuff in 'his' suitcase! With us traveling with 3 kiddos, we can pack less for them and more for us, as we each have the same luggage allowances!

(I, too, am planning on doing a wash mid-trip). We should arrange a Dismeet in the laundry around September 25th! :rotfl:
I tried that with my niece last year, she was 12, she was also having NONE of it!!!

Well fellow pirates...I am off to WDW on Wednesday for 6 nights. Talk to you on the other side.

Have a great time you lucky bizum.

Just a note regarding the lanyards. As noted, Erik and Jason have taken the lead on this. Currently they have been extremely busy with their day to day lives but I know from past experience that they are keeping up on this. As we roll into 2010, I'm sure there will be numerous reminders to sign up and on our last trip he sent individual PM's to posters for name verifications. We had great lanyards on our double dip and his team did a fantastic job! We had so many people and it was so well organized. He even had his own table set up at the back of the terminal to sign in and retrieve your landyard (up until boarding time).

You lucky thing - have a great time!

I too would love to see some sun here in Wales - 3 washout summers in a row - I should stop expecting anything else really!

LOL glad I'm not the only one with the throw the undies plan - though loving the name and going to have to use this in the future!

I can't get to grips with this wearing and chucking of old pants on vacation thing - pants don't take up that much space surely! I love buying my new bra and pants sets for holidays. Do you chuck bras aswell?

What a cool word "bizum" - I like that one! (don't have a clue what it means though :rotfl:)

LOL No way. My bras cost too much for that. No I tend to buy sets only to wear at night and during the day wear regular boring pants that I pick up cheaply with any bra I am comfy in. Then at night I put the sets on. It doesn't save a lot of room I agree but every little helps - and means I don't have 5 drawers of underwear

I know we won't have a DISer in the Walt Suite (a travel agent has it), but we may luck out for the Roy!

I may be up for a scrapping class....IF I ever finish the one from the WBPC! :lmao:

I would love to go to a scrapbooking class - I want to do one from my last cruise but don't know where to start! I bought the scrapbook on the Disney Magic but so far it's untouched!

Can you believe we are discussing our smalls in broad daylight - only on the DIS! :rotfl::rotfl:

LOL it's when we get to the stage of colours we have to start worrying.

I know what you mean about scrapbooking. It took me ages to start my last ones but then once started I finished them quickly.

Think this weekend I'm going to attempt to sort out the two ball gowns I have and decide if I can do anything with either of them! The pink one may have to be ebay'd

I haven't finished mine either. I need some of those glue dots and some will to get on with it.

Someone on our last cruise told us that on a previous cruise she threw away her old undies, and when she went back to her cabin, her stateroon host had taken them out of the trash and neatly folded them up again for her!!!!!!!:rotfl::blush::blush::blush:

Marilyn, I think I'm going to use my WBPC scrapbooking supplies to do a scrapbook of our Tortola cruise...since it's a family special event. :rotfl:

That is a great idea and a lovely memento. We learnt a lot about scrapbooking on the WBPC didn't we, and it was a fun event, but it was easy having everything ready for us.

Howdy everyone,
It's been a couple of weeks since i last posted. I have been so busy taking care of my moms affairs and planning for our November cruise I just havnt had as much time for posting.:guilty:

Looks like we are having a throw away your undies party the last night huh?:lmao: Maybe I can get DH to participate. I swear he has some from 25 years ago standing up by themselves in the corner of the closet:rotfl2:
I have to admit they do scare away the moths and mice but they could stand to GO!!:lmao:

I am up for a scrapbooking session. I love to scrap:goodvibes I just finished 2 books from this years camping trip and gave to my brothers. It was the first time since we were kids that we all went camping together.:thumbsup2

Well after a week of 105 degree weather we are finally cooling off to the upper 80's and it really feels good. Going to be mid 70's for the weekend which is even better yet.:thumbsup2

I have a new internet server and it seems to be much faster, so maybe I can get on line a bit more often to keep up with everyone here.:yay:

Can't wait for this cruise. Time is going really fast for me since I have been so busy.

We are almost done at moms and my mother in law is buying my moms mobile home so that worked out great for everyone. I am still spending lots of time in Salem to visit with mom, which takes up a lot of my time but I will post when I can. No internet at her place.:sad2:

Catch everyone later,

Kathy

the colours will depend on what I am wearing over the top :goodvibes

I have so much to sort out in the clothing dept - I may resort to some serious Ebaying soon myself - I may set myself a fundraising Ebay challenge to see me through the winter and pass the time before the cruise! - I also plan to pass the time by completing one cruise-related project each month once we get to the 12 months deadline.

Speaking of ball gowns - how many formal / semi-formal nights are we likely to have again - If there is more than one formal I may have to start keeping my eyes peeled for another formal dress! :woohoo:

I might gatecrash this party even though I won't be throwing any of my new undies away! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: at your DH's pants standing up in the closet!

Kathy glad you're doing OK. Hope your mums OK too. Glad things are slowly getting sorted

Love the idea of an underwear tossing party. Really we need a ceremonial burning party but think Disney might object lol
