Okay, I have to brag a little. No matter what your opinion in politics is, it is still nice to be recognized. My DSiL was asked to introduce Obama last August in Lancaster, Pa even thought he was of the opposite feeling. Apparently whatever he said in his email was enough to be asked. Well, he and my DD just got home from being asked to the White House (well actually the Eisenhower Building next to the White House) today when Obama gave a speech about taxes. They were featured on the 6:00 news and you could see them in the Nightly News.

Okay, question of the week - your most memorable holiday and why???

The Christmas I was 13. My Dad had just died in November and we had recently moved to the town where we were living. I think my sisters and I were not even really thinking too much about it being Christmas, but the people at the church we had started going to bought us Christmas presents and gave them to my mother to put under the tree. I remember we got a globe - we still had it 20 years later when I moved out!

Dh and I planned our vacation in 2004 and had some $$$ left over. So we decited to do a B2B(Magic). After the trip, we still had some $$ left over.
* insert crazy shaking face here* We invited all our kids and in law kids(total 6) and all the grandkids(13) and my mom... total 21....
to SeaWorld.
All for 4 days in San Diego. Man... what a blast!!!
The youngest of the kids (then) are still talking about it! You should have see the face of the hostess when we asked for a table for 19 !!!!

Tell ya the truth... I'd do it all again in a heart beat!!!

Thanks for all the welcomes! We're going on a Carnival 3-day cruise out of San Diego in a few weeks and DH and I both agree that this just made us more excited about the transatlantic in 17 months. Oh sure we'll have fun on the Carnival cruise but it definitely won't be the same as DCL.

I have not really had any memorable holidays. My family did not really celebrate anything apart from birthdays and we (DH and I ) don't really celebrate anything either. The closest would be Halloween 1999 when I got baptized, but that was just coincidence that this fell on a holiday.

Guess what I'm doing tonight? I'm mouse-sitting for a mommy and baby mouse from the science center where I work. The baby is 6 days old and is so cute! Well...there were more babies but they became food for the snake at the Center. If it would have been up to me, I would have kept them all! There's a total of three adult mice at the Center, Snoopy(who I have at home), Chuck and Speedie. Speedie is also pregnant and is due any day. I'm hoping to save the baby from the snake...if I do, you can bet what I'm going to name it! Mickey!!!!
