It's going to be VERY strange listening to a game without that voice! You could flip through stations and always know you had the Phillies as soon as you heard his voice! He will be missed. :sad1:

At least he got to see his beloved Phillies take it all last year! He really enjoyed the party too!!

it would be nice if they can do it again for Harry.

Hello Everyone! I hope whatever your faith is, you had a nice weekend. We actually had a beautiful Easter day here in Salt Lake City. It was clear just a little chilly with the wind blowing.

I can't believe the two losses in baseball within a week, the phillie announcer and the angels pitcher. Does it really come in threes? My prayers are with their families and fans.

We are doing fine here and had a wonderful in Vegas for the week. Unfortunately our DD will be having dental surgery on Thursday morning and we hope it will be quick and not too painful for her. Our friend that is coming along on this cruise is excited to receive his own Passporter. I keep telling him that before he knows it we will be leaving for the cruise so he better start now collecting costumes, themed clothes, gifts for fish extenders, etc.

Have a Great Evening Everyone!
Karen and gang

It sure would! Hey, we can have "high hopes"!!!

OMG DH was so happy they did it last year right after he turned 60 and he remarked he wondered if he would be around to see them do it again!!!

Hey Karen - I was watching the news last night and I think someone else in baseball died. I didn't hear the whole report and I am far from an expert on baseball, but thinking that might be your third!

Just thought I'd post - it's been a long while - and I'm finally able to plan for our Tortola Cruise - but wanted to pop in and say "HEY"!

So far we HAVEN'T cancelled, there was talk - but I am holding on firm, at this point no one really ever knows do they?:rotfl2:

The third was Mark the Bird Fidrych. He was a retired allstar pitcher from the Tigers. He was found under his truck which he was repairing.

Hey! Always good to hear from one of the AZ sisters. Ya know we love you guys!! :grouphug:

When is the Wonder going to Ca? and when is she coming back? Are the books open on that one yet? We were on the Magic for the eastbound TC cruise in August.

I became a great-aunt last night. (I've always been a wonderful aunt but...) My niece gave birth to an 8 lb 12 oz baby girl.

Congratulations! Youll have to give us pics when you get them!

Where is everyone??? :confused::surfweb:

Sorry been in the world of long weekend off work and no time to do anything lol. I move flat next week so the living room is a mixture of boxes and bags so did some packing this weekend. Other than that its all quiet

HAPPY EASTER everyone! Nordkin - your Easter service sounded beautiful! We had a lovely day here too in Florida. I am stuffed from lots of lunch/dinner and feel like a nap, but I will resist - ha ha!

I didn't know about the Wonder in the Panama. I might wait for the San Diego to Seattle thing instead. I don't know. I just want to go on a cruise - boo hoo!!! Have a great week!

Okay, question of the week - your most memorable holiday and why???

Actually mine was probably the Disney trip last year as it was the first time me and DBF had gone away together and the first time he had ever been to Disney. It was fantastic and we did so much but still had so much fun. Oh and memorable as we got ill lol! I had an allergic reaction, food poisoning and a sprained ankle in the space of 2 weeks and Dan just had the food poisoning

Things change so quickly I think until the final payment is due there is no point cancelling. Just leave it and see how it goes! Fingers Crossed!

Good question:goodvibes I think you mean hoilida yas in Easter/Christmas/etc but I htink many of our brits will interpret it as wah twe would call vacation (as Sarah did:upsidedow)

I can't really narrow it down. The Christmas when Marika was bron at 2:00 the next day is pretty memorable as it the one two years later when I brought Rio home from the hospital on Christmas Eve. Both of THose for obvious reasons. Easter 1992 really sticks in my mind though. I had been dating Dave for about 5 months ANd was invited to the big famliy gahtering at his parents' house. I am an only child with a small family all together (sum total of 6 cousins from both sides) so no gathering of my family is ever really BIG. At Dave's place were about 50 aunts, uncles, siblings, cousins, significant others and what have you. I had never met so many people in one day--it was overwheling (and loud:rotfl:). The story everyone still talks about from that day is playing spoons. About 8 or so of us from the younger generation were playing spoons and i was across the tabel from Dave. I got hte last spoon before Dave could and in the heat of hte game (this is a very competitive family;)) he came sailing across the table, knocked my chair over backwards and wrestled the spoon from my hand. I wasn't hurt, but I was shocked as all get out--I didn't yet know this was typical all in good fun behaviour at his family gathering:lmao: I guess I looked as shocked as I was because evryone thought it was so funny. To this day I still will not play spoons with him:rolleyes:

As to the Brit version of holiday--the most memorable has to be the first TA cruise on the Magic in May 2007. Too many reasons to list. It was a most fantastic trip in many many many ways including meeting my best friends becuase of it:thumbsup2

Gismo - I loved hearing about your "holiday" and I do apologize. Hadley was right, not thinking about Europeans. I should have said Christmas/Easter, etc. Now we need to hear from Sarah again!!!:)

Mine was Easter of 1989 when DH came to my house for the first time and had Easter dinner with my very small family. He fit in right away and we laughed all day. I knew I wanted to marry him right after that!!! I DID!!!

LOL yes we over this side call Vacations Holidays and to be honest I'm usually better at spotting this one but was obviously asleep this morning lol

LOL don't worr.

OK well my favourite Holiday then is:

Easter and I'm afraid its for very selfish reasons! In the UK at Christmas we get 3 days off but at Easter we get 2 days plus DBF gets Tuesday off and our work gets 1/2 day on the Thursday so I tend to take 3 1/2days. As we don't tend to do much over Easter (not religious so just tend to slob around eating chocolate) its the best time of year. Christmas is just too busy and I can't stand it. Even though there is extra days off its not as good.
