Happy Easter to all who celebrate. We went to the sunrise service at Arlington National Cemetary this morning and although it was cold, it was a beautiful service. They had it in the amplitheater by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and to say you could feel the serenity would be an understatement. I was lucky enough to get one of the Easter Lilies they used to line the podium and it is now on my father's grave. He was eligible to be buried in Arlington, but chose our family plot instead. I just thought the lily was very appropraite for his grave.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I have been to several ceremonies/services there, it is a very peaceful setting and the serenity is a huge element.

Happy Easter All!!!

It's a bit chilly around here but the sun is out. We had a breakfast brunch at my sister's house (about 22 humans and 5 dogs!). Very hectic, way too much food, and a lot of fun!

Did you pick up lgmh while at home depot. I love Behr paint it cleans up great and goes on smooth. I also have Swiss coffee in my room on 2 walls to tone down the fuchsia on the other two.

At this time the lgmh slot is empty at that particular Home Depot:rolleyes:

Hoppy Easter to you too. (insert bunny here, i couldn't find a smiley)

Well at least with neutral colors you can add in color in other ways, such as through the comforter, curtains, pillows, etc. :)

Congrats on booking the Alaska cruise! I'd like to do that some day, but I get cold just thinking about it! :cold: LOL

That's one reason we went that way. Several years ago I made quilts for all the kids. And then, using the left overs and dark blue and cranberry as the connecting colors made a queen size quilt for our bed. (the colors in the kids quilts were blues, black & white (penguins), and turquoise, rust brown, yellow) so there is plenty of color in the room already.

As for the cold - I don't do that well! But, maybe, I'll stay inside mostly, except for the tours.

HAPPY EASTER. This is the first Easter I'm not doing eggs, dinner, baskets (kids as 22, 20, 16). But the day is really pretty here.:flower2::daisy::flower2::rose::flower2::daisy::flower2:

HAPPY EASTER everyone! Nordkin - your Easter service sounded beautiful! We had a lovely day here too in Florida. I am stuffed from lots of lunch/dinner and feel like a nap, but I will resist - ha ha!

I didn't know about the Wonder in the Panama. I might wait for the San Diego to Seattle thing instead. I don't know. I just want to go on a cruise - boo hoo!!! Have a great week!

Okay, question of the week - your most memorable holiday and why???

Hoagie

If the Wonder does a LA to Seattle and it has a stop in San Fran, I would be on that. It would be a great way to see the new Disney Family museum at the Presidio grounds.

Waiting very impatiently for the museum to open. I'm hoping to go to any opening ceremony that they might have.

Your comforter sounds really nice and I think your wall color is just right for it. :)

I've seen the special on The Travel Channel where Samantha Brown did an Alaskan cruise aboard a Royal Caribbean ship, and some of the excursions looked like a lot of fun. I'd like to go on a dog sled excursion some day!

The Wonder is moving to LA sometime in 2011 and the Dream will take it's place at PC. So there will be a PC west bound only crossing in 2011. We're anticipating announcements in November.

(Also there are rumors that it will do 7 day Mexican cruises and at some point in the summer relocate to a more northern port...Seattle?/Vancouver?...for some Alaskan cruises...then head back to LA)

Depending on when (which month in 2011) the PC cruise would be, we might be interested in that! :)

We are hoping to be on the Wonder Panama Canal Cruise. DH prefers the Wonder to the Magic and both of us would love to do a Panama Canal Cruise. I am hoping for mid February 2011 to coincide with our anniversary.

So sorry to hear about Harry Kalas. Grew up listening to him. He just had one of those voices. Thanks for letting us know.

I just told DH when he got home from work. Being a Philly fan, he was sad to hear it. :sad1:

It's going to be VERY strange listening to a game without that voice! You could flip through stations and always know you had the Phillies as soon as you heard his voice! He will be missed. :sad1:

At least he got to see his beloved Phillies take it all last year! He really enjoyed the party too!!

I've been dogsledding - believe it or not, it's quite uncomfortable and I was glad when it was over. Meeting the wheel dog after was fun, and I have a photo, but I wouldn't do it again, for love nor money.
