Thanks! We'll have some time on Wednesday after we arrive. We're flying into LHR and then driving to Cardiff so we should get there about mid-afternoon. Will be a little tired, but have done this before and we know there is always time for a little drinking!

lol! Especially in Cardiff!

Hey folks!

Just a reminder about lanyards.....if you want lanyards for this trip you need to send an email to WBTALanyards@yahoo.com

Complete directions for what info to send are in Post #1, so check it out.

Just a note, too----that even if you have sent an email to Hadley signing up to be a part of the lanyard team I still need you to send a separate email to the lanyard list email to "order " your lanyards. The emails received at THAT addy are the ones that my partner is printing to create a spreadsheet with everyone's information on it so if you don't send an email there---there probably won't be lanyards and name badges for you at the port. :scared1: :scared1:

To date I have only received 12 emails....and I'm sure there are lots more folks out there who want lanyards.....I know we have lots and lots of time (I'll probably have to create a cutoff point of somewhere in early April of 2010)----but no time like the present!! :) (Besides....the more "orders" I have in advance the better idea I'll be able to plan things like time needed to make them, shipping, etc.)

THANKS!!

(oh....and get used to this.....I'll probably post a lanyard reminder every month or so as we get closer to the cruise just in case some of new cruisemates don't read the entire post #1)

Eric have you got mine as my email keeps playing up?

75° is summer weather to us! The first winter trip we took to WDW, we got strange looks from lots of strangers because we were in shorts and vest tops. Locals were out in force in their long coats and scarves! :rotfl2:

I promise to try to be a better pirate and keep up with this thread. :flower3: pirate:

Hey were no where near as cold as you guys down here but I agree completely! 75 is boiling for us and definately shorts weather lol

So it took me 1 hour to get us on the map, my hubby just e-mailed and said you did not even out us in the correct place.
I said yes I did, but then I looked and we had been move, when I clicked on our ballon this is what it said

Last Updated by lynn.tocher 50 minutes ago

Are any of you messing with me?? because if you are its not funny(well maybe just a bit:rotfl: )

Any ideas?
Can I move me back?

Dont worry I managed to move myself without realising it! It's easily done! I found deleting and starting again was the best option lol

Just passing through ta say 'ello and

Now I think I'll try to get back to sleep... but B4 I go here's a little something I posted earlier this past weekend. This is a slice of how our weekend went....

... [edited]....

Now on another note... maybe some folks should begin to send some small hopes and prayers my way ... (or not). ... you see ... have I EVER mentioned that my spouse makes THE BEST Turkey? It's always tender and moist through out ... and it's something she lavishes great time and love preparing for us?

griffith1.jpg

Well... I went out today to meet up with 2 good friends and their kids for an afternoon at the Griffith Park Observatory. I was pretty involved with the preparations... making snacks, packing stuff, double checking this and that ... then we hustled out the door while I secured our loving over-weight Samoyed indoors ... I double checked that he was baby-gated out of the living room and all bedroom doors were closed.

We had tons of traffic getting there but oddly enough all 3 cars actually converged AT The entrance to the Observatory parking lot at the same MOMENT? Strange but a nice beginning I thought... (???)... well... we walked in to stand in line and wait the 40 minutes for the next series of show to go on sale - and I noticed someone ahead of me buying a ticket? Hmmm ... I thought ... what show did that fellow just buy I enquired .. and I learned they still had seats left for the current show which was set to begin in 15 minutes ... and at about 10 minutes before a show they stop selling tix. I realized - oh boy! ... we can get into the planetarium right now! SO we bought and went right in.... PERFECT!

On exiting we hustled down for another show starting in 10 minutes ... again PERFECT!

On exiting we went outside on the dining room patio for hot chocolate and havy snacks (which I packed) ... and enjoied what goes down as one of THE most beautiful sunsets I've EVER experienced of LA. Glittering city lights I've NEVER seen from this vantage point with an UNBELIEVEABLE canvas of clouds with the fading glow in the sky. A memory to last a life time in those minutes... and the 3 Dads gathered simply stood there soaking it up ...

060310-130..jpg

We then went in to view the exhibits - a short 30-40 minutes and then we departed - one to head to a hocky game - I and the other Dad retired to his home where his spouse cooked up a modest but simply incredible HOME COOKED meal .. the like of which I never see except from my Mom - who's no with us any longer. A simply wonderful meal that brings back a few memories from my childhood meals!

We had long conversation after dinner - talking about all manner of fun and serious things - plus my friend managed a quick and simple repair of my hard drive which I brought for him to look over - woo hoo! - then I departed.

I thought while driving home... WHAT an incredibly perfect day. 2 great friends and thier kids (and most of their families) shared in a humble, simply wonderful and memorable day!

That is ... until I got home. Upon entering ... I was carrying one of my two sleeping kids in the door... and as I entered the dog sort of took a glance at me and instead of greeting me he turned tail and I heard him dash through his dog door. OK... so it sounds as if he's been naughty. So what ... I thought. I tucked the two kids into bed - then went into the kitchen.

Alicia is out of town this weekend as it's the once a year that she has to work a convention - and this time we did not go. Sometimes we all go too. So I've been on my own a day till next week. And the first thing I notice is ... Oh Noooo.... the refridgerator door is OPEN. The BIG platter with the turkey is on the floor - and has been licked clean. Looking further into the fridge ... about 1/3rd of the bottom shelf is EMPTY... that was where we had some RUTH Chris left overs. Arrrgh! Plus I think there was a small container of Chinese take out too. Plus oddly enough there was also an empty box of Baby cereal. It was one of those pricey organic baby cereal brands... the ones you pay an extra dolar or so for for the privilage of having the fancy label and so on.

So I thought... every dog eventually has his day. Most of the turkey was already gone. The platter had about 1/2 of one breast and I think some greasy left over things/cuts we usually don't eat... and the body of bones had already been discarded (mostly). We still had another medium sized container of turkey cut up ... but the platter was the BIG one at this stage of the game. and out over weight dog got THAT plus a Ruth Chris steak and the box of Chinese left overs. Oh ... AND the box of gourmet organic baby cereal.

I think if Alicia were home tonite she would have gone and shot the poor thing.

I however, gave him a light slap on the back near his tail with a stern "BAD DOG" where upon he ran for the dog door again. Then I bid him come in 10 minutes later (after I cleaned up the floor) ... in a sweet voice I called him in... and he was all wagging tail and ears up. He's an old fella ... and so what ... he too had a totally PERFECT DAY ... as I had. So what!

Thxgvg_funny.gif

So what am I gonna tell Alicia? Well... I'll not go and mess up this day worrying about THAT little detail. Anyone with any sage advice is welcome to cough it up. I'm gonna check my email and try real hard to keep this day a simply perfect and beautiful one!:woohoo:

Does this dog ofours look INNOCENT or GUILTY?

iCE55168A-12FC-401E-8809-0B2581A5868B.jpg

Ooo....

You're gonna love this ... our wonderful dog just cut loose with some intense doggy "gas"... and boy oh boy is it .... intense. < chuckles > Be thankful you're not here! < confused expressions >

Ah! She was so pretty! Its weird cause Im sat in my mums today and we have the ashes of our little babies here and after reading that and seeing her beautiful picture I had to go and look at them! Although you come to terms with it it still upsets you some days! It's coming up to the anniversary of Falcor passing on and I can't stop talking about it these days

oh, thats very sweet of you, it is true you come to terms with loss but you never get over it, whether pet or relative, dont laugh but I have my horses ashes under my bed, he was 30 when he died a few years ago, I had him since he was 6, my theory is when his buddy dies(please god not yet) I can put them some where together. I must find a picture of them, I never had a digital camera when Toby was around so Ive not many, but i now have a little and large show(you'll see):goodvibes

That's really nice though. I always said that I wouldn't want to get the dogs cremated as there was something creepy about keeping thier ashes but when Paco went my sister insisted on getting him back and then when Falcor and Gemma went we madethe same choice. Dan thinks I'm morbid because I showed him the ashes on the weekend and what was in the boxes with them (we have these photo boxes with them in and their collars and a few bits and peices). At least I haven't still got the clothes that I was wearing when Falcor died which I think I kept for a year after he went without washing them! I don't think you know how you are going to cope when they pass on until it happens and I like having the ashes still here as it means I still have a peice of them, and in some ways they are still together.

I am finally caught up. It is amazing how much catching up you have to do after nearly two weeks away!

First of all, welcome to the people who have recently joined the thread.

I had a great time at Disneyland Paris even though it was cold and wet. They put some great new rides and attractions in since we had been the last time. I found the scariest ride I have ever done (yes, worse than Tower of Terror) in the shape of Crush's Coaster. I did notice distinct cut backs. Normally they go all out with Christmas decorations and the Christmas parade at Disneyland Paris, but there was distinctly less this year. No holiday overlay for It's A Small World, no character Christmas trees, no Christmas Market at Disney village and no reindeer in the Christmas parade. There is not even a Christmas parade as such. They are showing the normal parade (which is fantastic) and just add the nutcrackers, elves and a float with Santa at the end.

Unfortunately I came home with a chest infection, but taking time of work was out of the question as we had thousands of people stranded in Bangkok as protesters had closed down the airport for over a week. People were standing in line in front of our Bangkok office for over 12 hours and we had around 50 calls waiting at any given time even here in the UK. Of course, being ill anyway and having this kind of stress on top, meant that I picked up a stomach bug as well. I had a day off yesterday and spent it in bed. Today I feel almost back to normal and will head out to work very shortly.

I have added myself to the map and finally worked out how to add the cruise logo (or one of them anyway) to my signature without compromising my tickers.

Hopefully youll be fully recovered shortly. I've managed to get a dreaded chest infection too (I think its the weather) so my trip to the asthma clinic tomorrow should be fun!

HI

Wecome home - sounds like you had a great time. We visited Disneyland Paris in December a few years ago and I can honestly say I have never been so cold! We had to put on so many layers it was ridiculous! Did you get to see the snow falling on Main Street?
I love Crush's Coaster - the second half of the ride is amazing - but it must come as a shock to those who go on it expecting it to be a kiddie ride!:scared1:

Lynne, I would love to see a photo of your horses (my mom had a pic of me when I was about 3-4 sitting on a wishing rock at the zoo; she knew I was wishing for a pony...heheh, still am).

Losing a furbaby is hard, hard, hard. And you're right; you don't know how you're going to cope until you have to (and then you really don't want to).

Corinna, I'm glad you had a good time, but sorry you came back sick. It's a shame about the cutbacks, but those are probably a glimpse of things to come :sad2: . Hope you feel better soon. :flower3:

Just wanna say good afternoon and welcome to all the new PEEPS and old timers. Things are looking up a bit here...Kel has a job interview Weds with good prospects...we finally got the settlement from the insurance company (not as much as we hoped, but more then we expected.) Kel is working on an article for paper and mags, about the loss of jobs in Auto and how it has inpacted on a personal level....looks like they want to maker her a personal face for the auto industry. She did a really good job on the interview on the news (stayed way calmer then I could have.) I teased her, and said if she could have had that one tear down her cheek, like in the movies, she would have made Oprah! :rotfl:

Anyway....she will find work somewhere if it is to be found. She's working harder at finding a job then she did AT a job!:lmao:

I asked Kylie if she wanted to go to WDW this spring (the buy 4 get 3 deal) or "go on the boat"...without hesitation she said THE BOAT! Kinda surprised me actually, but she is a fish and would literally stay in the water all day if I let her. So, I put a deposit down on the 6/13 Cat 12 for $2100 for the 3 of us. I also have a deposit down on WDW for that same week too! We will have to see if Kel gets a job....the price is pretty close (within a couple hundred $$.)

I'm off to restring our tree....it "was" prelit, but when we put it up half the lights are out! It's only 2 years old! We called the Company and they sent out enough lights to restring the whole thing! But, is a big job.

Whats that, you are still looking for something to take up all your time, energy and money:rotfl:

Sarah knows how to do it she just likes clocking up the most posts!:lmao:

Yeah, get better soon(again):flower3:

Oh, yeah, she does have a rep to uphold ;) .

Howdy everyone,
just wanted to say we are back home safely after a great cruise. I see Linda has introduced herself.
We have cruised with her and Bruce twice before, they are great people to cruise with.
Another friend of ours, Tom & Marilou booked this cruised last week on board. I hope he will post soon too.

I will post a few pictures this week and also do a trip report on the boards later is anyone is interested. I'll let you know when its done.

I am very tired but will check back tomorrow,

Kathy
