Sept 18 2010 WB TransAtlantic Pirates/Capt Jacks Re-Repoing Repossession Cruise Pt.10

Amy - so sorry to hear about Remy!! I look forward to seeing the new little ones soon.

Jason - your itinerary sounds wonderful. I am sure you will have a fabulous trip. Are you planning on visiting the Grand Canyon? Also in Boston you must eat a lobster roll!! Would love one right now for lunch:yay:

Corrina - I am sure you will have a beautiful vow renewal. When we lived in California, the Crystal Cathedral was our church. This was many many years ago, but lots of beautiful memories. We used to drive down from LA every Sunday if that tells you how much we loved it.

Terry - hope the doctors can tell you some good news! You are in good hands at Johns Hopkins. Hang in there!

We have no cruises or trips planned so I am just living vicariously through everyone else!!!

Jason, is Philadelphia or Washington DC on your list too? Great places with lots of things to see and do. It sounds like you have so many fun things to do. The Grand Canyon is just beautiful. We lived in Arizona and went to see the Canyon before we moved to Florida. The public transportation is excellent in Boston and DC. I sent you a PM also.

Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know I have not dropped off the earth. I still have trouble getting out of bed every day but once I get up, that determines how the rest of the day will go.
It sucks but I am learning to just deal with it and take it a day at a time.

I do have an appointment at Johns Hopkins on May 16. A whole bunch of appointments all in one day. Hopefully they will be able to give me more answers.

And just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, I had noticed a spongy lump on my left shoulder so I went to the Dr and he ordered a CT scan. The lump is not anything to be concerned about but they noticed a spot on the right side of my lung about the size of a BB. I have to go back in 6 months to get another CT scan. At this point, we can only wait till September and see what the scan looks like. I have to be happy that I had the problem and they caught it early. The Dr thinks it will be okay but he also said that they might have to keep an eye on it for the next two years.

The good news is Stephanie and I are eagerly planning our trip in September. We fly out to Seattle and spend the day there. What we did tho was book a one day cruise on the Sapphire Princess so we will be picked up at the airport and taken to a hotel and the next morning taken to the ship and sail from Seattle to Vancouver. We will then spend the day in Vancouver and then on Sept 20 board the Disney Wonder for a five day cruise to LA and then spend two days in Disneyland. I have not seen Disneyland since 1968 so I think it has changed a little??? :lmao::rolleyes1

I cannot wait for this trip. We are traveling with two other Disney lovers so this will be so much fun.

Terry, thoughts and prayers are with you.

hi hoagie

yes philadelphia and washington DC are on my list of places to visit on my travel blog there will be pages going up for where i am planning to go throughout my trip the usa is going to be up straight away over the next few days as i need to plan it out. Although I keep dropping destinations or adding some (added dodge city yesterday after looking on the internet). So check in there and by all means comment and place some tips up there. I will put a page up for fiji as i have already booked my accomadation there.

I got your PM and the link to the trolley bus thanks for that definately check it out going to boston for a few days and the Lobster rolls look awesome must try those.

there is so much to do:laundy:

But most of it is just fun stuff mind you budgeting this trip is taking some thought :surfweb: lots of looking at accomadation etc tours .. how to get from one place to another within budget travelling around the USA using greyhound that will let me see alot of the country and if i travel through the night i save on beds!

I have to admit I am so looking forward to just dropping the shackles and picking up a bag and walking off into the sunset the freedom of the open road. Although I will have a plan its always possible I will change it and go somewhere else. It will not be the luxury of the disney cruise ship (so love that and wished i could have afforded to do the westbound this year as well) but thats not what I am looking for in this trip anyway I want to go on a mega road trip. This is the trip of a life time if I do not do it now its very possible I never will so I am going to enjoy this and embrace what life will throw at me while on the road.

Hey Jason - love the blog, but I couldn't find where to post. I wanted to tell you in DC there is a little quick eats place called Ollie's Trolley. The best BBQ french fries ever!!! Here is the link: http://www.olliestrolleydc.com/ you don't want to miss it and not that expensive.

In Philadelphia, you have to have a cheesesteak. See, all the things I am telling you have to do with food. I am sure there are other things to do when you travel - NOT!!!:rotfl2:

Anyway, let me know, when you have time, how to post. Glad you like the Trolley suggestion. Love the pictures on the blog!

We just may be able to meet up. We are hoping to do an RV trip that would get us home early Oct. No need to pay petro for us....you would NOT like the petro bill for the RV!!!:rolleyes1
I hope you are planning to go into Yellowstone Park itself and not just to West Yellowstone, which is a tourist town.... I looked at the park's schedule and several things close in early Sept, but the area around the fishing bridge and Canyon area are open until Sept 25. The park itself is open year round, but most of the facilities close. It is over 8000 feet and they get early (and late) season snow. We were there on July 4 one year and woke up to a dusting of snow.

Closing schedule:

September - Facility or Service Closing Dates
Sept. 4
Roosevelt/Tower - Trail rides & stagecoach; Cook-Out
Sept. 5
Bridge Bay - Marina Store, Guideboats/Outboards
Canyon - Cafeteria, Pioneer/Frontier Cabins, Campground & Camper Services, Repair Service
Fishing Bridge - Wrecker & Repair Service
Grant Village - Wrecker & Repair Service

Sept. 19 Grant Village - Grant General Store
Sept. 21 Lake - Lake Clinic
Sept. 22 Roosevelt/Tower - Tower Fall General Store
Sept. 25 Canyon Village - Lodge, Dining Room, Picnic Shop,Cascade & Dunraven Lodges, Western Cabins, Gift Shop

Hi Jason,

Subscribed to your blog. Looks like it's going to be a busy but very exciting vacation. On a logistical side of things, one less thing you'll have to worry about is laundry while at our place. Our machines will be available. :laundy:

Hi all!

Does anyone have a group photo from Mickey Mouse Club night or the PJ Breakfast? How about the ladies tea? I am missing those for my scrapbook and would like to include. If you do, can you PM me or email it to us? The photos@transatlanticpirates.com address still works!

I was hoping to have this back from printing before we went to WDW, but as we are due to arrive there in 13 days, I have, sadly, missed my goal. However, I do have 100 pages (yep, really...) of fun filled days on the magic I am OK with it being a little late.

As soon as I get the last of the pictures placed I will post a link to the PDF's.

Thanks!!

If you take a tour out of Salt Lake, it would absolutely take you to Old Faithful, which is the most popular spot in Yellowstone Park. A tour might have you stay at Old Faithful Lodge. If you take Greyhound and we are able to make it then meeting in West Yellowstone and going into the park together would make sense. I will pm my email address to you so that we can keep in touch about the details.

OMG - between this cruise going to ten threads and my previous double dip cruise in 2008 going to five threads, I am SOOOOOO spoiled!!! Half the fun of preparing for the trips was to check the DIS out several times a day (more on this thread in order to keep up) and have fun sharing the experience with so many wonderful people.

So here I am, less than FIVE months out for my cruise to Alaska and they are only at page 69 of the FIRST thread!!! :scared1: And it was started in Sep2009!!! Certainly seems like it's going to be a really different experience!

Yup! You guys certainly spoiled me. :thumbsup2
