Got a call from DCL asking if we would be willing to swap room so I asked for our old room back. Evidently a family wanted a side-by-side room so for a bit more we got our original room back.

First up; there's nice Noel again :goodvibes .

And secondly; very much surprised that DCL is making such a call. They tend not to even make them to make sure access. staterooms aren't being used by those not needing them if there's a demand for them. Let's hope this is a sign of positive changes to come instead of a surprise oddball. :)

I was told a family wanted to add an additional stateroom. This happened to us on a previous cruise so I wan't surprised. Another family wanting adjoining stateroom which we happen to be in. Don't mind moving when it comes at a lesser price than normal. DCL does try to be accomodating so it doesn't hurt to ask I think!!

5)Does anyone know why our ship arrives so late into CC?
Usually DCL take 2 days to get from St Maarten to CC and they do it in 1 and a bit on this cruise(from Tortola) They did push hard and had us all ready to disembark for 10am last year.

6)Is there transport planned for Port Canaveral to MCO or MLB...or...WDW?
I rented a car from MCO to Port Canaveral in May in order to stock up prior to the cruise but this time I am thinking I may not need a vehicle. What are others doing post cruise? Noel do you have a list of names & what they are doing/organizing?

You can book DCL transfers to MCO or WDW hotels by phoning or through your TA.

11) Will Alfred & Seymour be one of the performers? We LOVE their performance every time!!

We hope so.

B) Should we have a tour planned for Gibraltar to go up the mountain to see the monkeys or is this over-rated? I have heard the taxis can be expensive and the walk back is long. It could be great exercise though!

It is well worth taking a tour. There is more to see than just the apes. The taxis should drop you at the port.

C) Can anyone answer this---why is the Midnight Dessert Buffet never advertised but only written in small print on the back of the Navigator and only heard word of mouth from the Head Server at dinnertime/host/hostesses or other passengers. I find many people do not know about the buffet, and just curious to know why this is not advertised on the front or inside the navigator.

I don't know? Perhaps you should ask??

D) Villian Night---what are others bringing as a costume in purple & black? I am curious, although not even sure I will have space in our luggage.

If you want to feel part of the Dis thing, just a little something purple, like a t shirt, shawl or jewellery. You should have the opportunity to make a mark too during the day.

Thanks!
Nancy:hippie::cutie:

Hope you get all your answers.

Are you planning to then drop car off at airport when you leave? :car::car: The Swan hotel has rental cars. My DD and family rented one from there and drove to St. Pete in May. But they only use National & Alamo car rental, so might be a thought too about dropping a car off with them and taking WDW Transportation to the airport.

Hey everyone! I can hardly believe that there are only 53 days left until the cruise. I know I haven't posted for a while but I've been drooling over those gorgeous shoes and reading all the posts.

welcome back leanne, beth is loving keeping in touch with morgan, she tells everyone about her canadian email penpal from ukraine :rotfl2:

Hello
I have just spent the last 2 days reading your past threads 2010 to catch up and acquaint myself. We booked this WBTA while on the EBTA in May 2011, but confirmed it a few days ago, making sure we could swing it with vacation dates.
I will be traveling with my DD (8), while DH is unavailable. For this reason we were uncertain until a few days ago if we should go or not.
My name is Nancy and my daughter is Nancy-Paris.

welcome aboard nancy and nancy-paris :cool1:

Hi Karen--I tried to send you a PM but cannot since I have less than 10 posts. Please, if you don't mind, here would be something what I was thinking:

Dolphin Discovery offers a choice of experiences with dolphins. It is offered to both adults and children.
Upon reading the choices available on their website the Dolphin Royal Swim has sparked interest. DCL offers the Dolphin Swim Adventure at the same site but for more $. At the moment I am interested in booking directly with the company, individually, and to share transportation with anyone interested. If enough interest is shown I can contact the company to ask for a group rate. Please remember that the discount is valid only if the reservation is paid for at least 20 days prior to the date of Wed Sept 21. I would need all names of interested by August 15 in order to ask for a possible group rate. Otherwise to share transportation only, you may contact me up until Tuesday Sept 20 the latest on the ship. Please look at Dolphin Discovery's website to see the choices of experiences with dolphins. It is offered to both adults and children.
Please look at dolphindiscovery.com

or call them at 1-866-393-5158 for more information.
Again anyone interested in sharing transportation please submit your name and number of persons in party. The times of shows are 10am & noon (later show times offered would be too late for the ship since it leaves 3:45).Please note also your preferance in time and show.
Thank you
Nancy

Karen - we're hiring with Budget as they were the cheapest for us. But we've hired through a UK broker.

Nancy - before I put the info on the front page, could you email the company to see if they will take the booking? A lot of these places have agreements with the cruise lines that won't allow them to take private bookings from cruise ship passengers. We had this problem when trying to book a scuba excursion privately in Nassau.

I had great fun last night, DH was doing some work on his laptop so I sat and decorated my mask for villains night, i'm really pleased with the outcome. :maleficen

i wish i had time to make my own but ellie keeping me too busy, so i had to just buy ours, i have added my own embellishment though if you can spot it:rotfl2:

That's fab Sarah. Loving the secret Mickey. ;)

Welcome aboard!

Forgive me but I don't chat much and am just getting accustomed to this website. I don't have a photo ( would like one to add on the left side when my name appears & where I'm from--no clue).
I have a few questions--
in order to post a photo, you need to upload it to a hosting site such as photo bucket. Grab the image link and go to "UserCP" on the menu bar above - go down to "edit avatar" and paste the link into option 1. There are also8 pages of clip art choices to use, instead.

5)Does anyone know why our ship arrives so late into CC?
It's a long way from Tortola?

6)Is there transport planned for Port Canaveral to MCO or MLB...or...WDW?

My roommates and I will be collected by one of their daughters in a rental car and going to Bay Lake Towers. I'm sure Disney will have transfers from port to the airport and probably also to WDW. Have you checked with them?

Shall I add the additional details to the Welcome Wagon post to see if more people might be interested?

Hi Nancy,

Welcome aboard.

We are Paul, Helen & Grace and this is our 1st cruise

We have booked direct with dolphin discovery for a dolphin discovery swim at 11am and we would be interested in sharing transport to dolphin discovery.

We were looking at booking this with DCL but on reading their conditions it was not available for under 3's (Grace is 2). On speaking with dolphin discovery they were happy to take 2 yr olds. We have booked the dolphin discovery swim and it is soooo much cheaper than DCL's price which was a bonus.

Love the little disney touch on the mask!

Hazel and I have been thinking that it might be nice as there seem to be several people in the Kent area of the UK, to try and have a meet up for a drinkie before the cruise gets here. We are in West Kent, I know a few of you are further over but we don't mind a bit of a drive.

Just a thought so that we can put some faces to names before we sail, especially for first time cruisers like ourselves!!!!!

Kevin & I live in Orlando--we just want to get home! Didn't want to bother anyone by asking them to drive to the port and back just to pick us up. We will check with dollar and Budget. We plan to drop the car at one of the hotels at Lake Buena Vista, but we could do the airport if it turns out to be cheaper.

Thanks for the hints,
Karen

Would it work if we dropped you off at Orlando on the way to St Augustine ... I haven't looked at a map yet so I don't know if it is on the way or if it would be a major detour. We will be renting a car from PC for sure.

Karen - we're hiring with Budget as they were the cheapest for us. But we've hired through a UK broker.

We usually opt for Budget but watch out for the fuel thing as we just got stung ... we said we would fill up our petrol and return it full, but when we drove back to Orlando Airport via the Florida Greenway Toll Raod we couldn't find any petrol stations at all, and we ended up being charged for a full tank of petrol at ridiculous rate - cost us $172 at the airport :scared1:
Next time I will pre-pay the tank of fuel if going back to the airport.
When we dropped off at the DoubleTree on Hotel Plaza Boulevard it was easy as there were lots of petrol stations nearby.

i wish i had time to make my own but ellie keeping me too busy, so i had to just buy ours, i have added my own embellishment though if you can spot it:rotfl2:
