Are the results different if you search by meal(Breakfast ,Lunch, Dinner) or by time? If I am searching for reservations by meal only am I missing out on some openings?

Yes, potentially. I've been told if searching by dinner, it may only provide results withing a certain window (say 5p-8p) so anything before or after may not show. It probably depends on the hours of each restaurant, if their B, L, or D hours fall outside of the BLD timeframe Disney sets forth. I usually search both just to make sure I don't miss anything! If you search by a specific time, it usually searches an hour or 2 before and after that time you specified.

I don't know how I found it and I cannot seem to do it again, but once I managed to find listing by restaurant by day. Like it showed every open Cali Grill for all of one day vs having to search by a time. It was great!

I wish we could plug in a date range and get all open times. Personally I never say I can eat at BOG on Wednesday and only Wednesday. I just want to eat at BOG and will plan my day around whenever I get it.

Yes, you will see more available openings when you search by "time" instead of "meal". If it's something you really want, keep checking back - I scored reservations for BOG on 3 nights of our vacation by going online and checking every couple of days. A lot of people make their ressies at the 180 day opening then change their plans around and cancel their ADR's so openings do pop up!

Thanks! I am trying not to get discouraged. However it works out- I still am in Disney!

While I have scored some awesome ressies searching B,L or D I have noticed different times come up when you search specific times. For example, when I search breakfast it seems to pull things that are later than 8am. When I search for 8am I get stuff ranging from 7:30-9ish. I think it is important to search both ways so you don't miss anything. It seems to be more relevant of early breakfast when I'm looking. Also searching a specific time seems to give you a pretty good buffer before and after that time. Best of luck to everyone!

*It does say they search essentially the same time range (breakfast search say 6:30-10 and 8am search say 6:30 to 9:30) but I know for a fact that the pre 8am ressies don't always come up when I search breakfast. I sometimes wonder if the system tries to "recommend" times like fastpasses?
